Yea! Now we're cooking with wood! Cause it's a wood burning stove.
The stove is going in the sci fi scene but I don’t consider it sci fi. Not really. I’ts based off of a modern wood burning stove I saw in a catalog. Turned out nice regardless.
Everyone I’ve asked to critique it says the black one looks better. Naturally, I like the tan one more. The black version will be going in the scene but the tan one gets to be the feature image, because I’m petty.

This is the piece. The one that took 4 redos. Some of them I got so far as to texturing before I decided to start over. I’m afraid I’ve lost those images. I did finally end up with a case that suits the needs of the scene. A scene that I will be posting images of soon.

A vacation where I lock myself in my room and read nothing but how not to make bad sci fi art articles for a couple of days. I took a break from sci fi to make some comfort zone assets. Made me feel good about personal skill again. Let’s hope this good feeling lasts for the rest of the project.

Some friends from school asked my to help with some assets for their OIX game. The game is great and I recommend playing the alpha. Yes, these are sci fi assets but making these was easier for me cause I made based on the requests of someone else. They sent me the concepts, I made assets. All design should be this easy. Here are the assets I ended up liking the most.

If you read my last post you’ll know I’m having issues with these sci fi assets. This is one of the ones I’m having issues with. This is my second design of the cargo container and I’m very tempted to try again with number 3. No, I’m not gonna show you the first one cause again, I hate it and it’s dead to me. As this one will probably be soon as well.

It's such a filthy habit, but I can't seem to stop 3D modeling. #substancepainter #3Dmodel It consumes my life, my money, and my time. Not necessarily in that order. I keep doing it though, in the hopes that someday it will pay off. This will be one of the last models I'll be making in Maya cause I'm moving to Modo starting next project.
