You.

Yes, you. On the other side of the screen.

Congratulations.

You made it this far. You made it all the way through 2015.

You’ve been through lots of shit, and lots of awesomeness.

You’ve changed, you’ve grown.

You tried new things, you saw a lot.

You were sad, you were happy.

You were worried then carefree, stressed then relieved.

You could have gotten married to someone very special.

Or made a friend that now means the world to you.

Or gotten a promotion in your work. Or finished college/high school.

You might have changed someone’s life for good, and you don’t even know.

Anyway it is, or was, I’m proud of you.

Next year will be a better year. I believe in you.

Keeper is a position in the Wizarding sport of Quidditch. There is one Keeper per team, and it is their job to guard the three goal posts attempting to stop the other team’s Chasers from scoring.

Harry Potter Meme: [1/6] Professors ∟  The very first time I saw you Harry, I recognized you immediately. Not by your scar, by your eyes. They’re your mother; Lily’s. Yes, I knew her. You mother was there for me at a time when no one else was. Not only was she a singularly gifted witch, she was also an uncommonly kind woman. She had a way of seeing the beauty in others, even, and perhaps most especially, when that person couldn’t see it in themselves. Your father, James, however, had a certain, shall we say, talent for trouble. A talent, rumor has it, he passed onto you. You’re more like them then you know, Harry. In time you’ll come to see just how much.

it won’t be like what you imagined. maybe you get the road trip to the beach with coffee in your hand and the radio playing, maybe you don’t. but happy shows up. it’s in a 2 AM game of jenga with your new college friends. it’s curling up for another marathon of netflix. it’s meeting the person who will be your best man at the wedding. it’s 4:45pm in the library when the girl in the study coral across from you quietly whispers “i’m going to set everything on fire” and then turns to you and asks if you wanna take a break for dinner (say yes, she’s very nice and you both need a moment away from the stress). it’s the mornings they have omelettes and in good books and in a puddle that looks cool. it’s sometimes picturesque, but more often it’s full-belly laughter at stupid things on the floor of your friend’s house while in the background someone is debating the best way to win settlers of catan.

i know it gets dark early now and the tired is setting in and everything sort of feels blank and hazy and you want to spend ages staring at walls thinking of nothing

but happiness will find a way in. it will be small moments. look for them.

Leighton House was the London home, studio and 30 year long project of the Victorian artist, Frederic, Lord Leighton (1830-96). Designed by the architect and designer George Aitchison initially in 1864, the project was completed in stages and took on  a relatively organic process as the two friends Aitchison and Leighton worked together. The house ultimately served as both Lord Leighton’s studio and own, personal gallery and reception, where even Queen Victoria visited in 1859. It is one of the very few Victorian artist’s house studios open to the public within the UK.

Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of Leighton House is Lord Leighton’s collection of over a thousand beautiful, Islamic tiles decorating the interior walls and giving the house its notable Orientalist aesthetic. In particular, The Arab Hall, where Lord Leighton’s collection of highly decorative polychrome tiles, mostly from Damascus in Syria dating from the 15th to 17th century as well as 19th-century tiles made by William de Morgan are, is perhaps the building’s main focus.
