yknow ever since people realized tumblr isnt dead and have decided to flock here from twitter and tiktok ive seen a huge influx of people in fandom spaces who dont reblog anything. at all.

like, i used to have an art blog with 340 followers. not a ton but not a small amount either given how this website works with creators. and in my experience back then even the ones who only left likes still reblogged other things or at least posted their own stuff. literally the only empty blogs were clearly bots.

but on this New art blog, i've had so many people with fandom-specific headers and icons with actual usernames as urls and some kind of title or description, but have. Nothing. no posts. all they do is like things. and it's always public, too. their following list and their likes list.

and honestly all it makes me think is that these people are New and also don't know how tumblr works. how likes don't give exposure. not even in a "oh, i know it doesn't give exposure, but i'm still going to reblog anyways" way, but in a genuine honest to god straight up doesn't realize tumblr likes don't work like twitter's.

PLEASE please if you're from tiktok or twitter or whatever please reblog people's art both fandom and original if you like it!! and maybe actually pad out your blog's content in some way so people won't potentially see you as a bot and block you.

REBLOG ARTIST'S WORK. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY THEY GET ANY ATTENTION ON THIS WEBSITE OH MY GOD. PLEASE. I BEG of you

Sometimes you need to do the hard thing in order to make life easier and happier for you in the future! It might be easier to stay on the default path now, but that might make life more difficult in the future. Working a little harder (and smarter!) now can make your life a lot simpler for the long run.

The American Ballet Theatre is debuting its first same-sex pas de deux tonight, performed by Calvin Royal III and João Menegussi. A snippet of the performance has been circulating on TikTok (above), and it’s so beautiful, I was moved to tears. I tried to capture the tenderness of these thirty seconds in charcoal and pencil as best as I could. (Below.)

Made by: ? , with love.

The Devil Judge has a lot of hidden small details which are actually pretty important for the plot. Sometimes they can be in facial expressions, sometimes it’s actions that show what is going on, and sometimes it’s words or simple mismatches.

While rewatching The Devil Judge one more time, I got a question about what Ga-On was eating in Kang’s mansion before he started to cook for Yo-Han, Elijah, and himself. So now, I want to speculate on all the variations that are shown or hinted at in the show.

Option one: Instant food.

The most obvious one, and maybe the easiest to think since we have seen that Elijah eats instant food, Yo-Han eats instant food. Ga-On ate ramyeon when the Professor came in in episode eight.

But it’s not the thing because of two reasons. The first one, Ga-On doesn't approve of eating such food as complex meals, even though he doesn't mind having it with Soo-Hyun in episode two.

When Elijah asks him to make her ramyeon and to bring it to her, Ga-On looks at it with bewilderment and thought that can be heard even from here: “That won't do.” His next decision? To make a “simple” breakfast that looks more like a royal banquet.

The second reason is just a simple mismatch in time. He couldn't cook for himself the first meal while sleeping and being affected after the explosion. Yet, from the tray that Ms. Ji successfully broke, we see an easy-to-cook but still a plate or two of homemade food.

— Option two: Ms. Ji.

This one would explain the tray, and what Ga-On ate that small amount of days. Also, it’s logical for her to cook for a guest in the house where she works.

Ga-On's glad when Ms. Ji is preparing to start to cook for him. He even invites Elijah to eat with him, even though she resists, saying “she (Ms. Ji) put in the effort to...” and stops only when Elijah raises her voice at him.

Ga-On wanted to try Ms. Ji’s food but it turned out she was banned from cooking and after ignoring the rule of not being in the mansion after the sun has set down, was reminded of its existence (someone was just trying to save his husband’s receptors, but about it a little bit later).

...but well, he will eat more then. And when the lunch is ready, Ga-On’s excited when he sees all the main and side dishes on the table. “You're a great cook,” says Ga-On trying the soup... and understands that there was a reason why she was prohibited from cooking.

An important note is that Ga-On doesn't say “so I've been eating your food all this time,” or something similar to it. He just asks since when Yo-Han banned her from making dishes (with a readable attempt on his face to save his poor tongue from everything he tried a second ago).

And the last thing that proves this theory’s non-existence is the conversation in Elijah’s room. Even though Ga-On laughs, he asks with the betrayal on his face: “why didn't you warn me?”. He never ate Ms. Ji’s food and has never thought that someone would add truffle oil to kimchi.

— Option three: Yo-Han.

Let me explain this one. Yo-Han does cook. Maybe not that often, not for everyone but the fact remains: he cooks.

We see a hint to it in episode five when he comes home and asks if there’s something to eat, and Butler already wants to count on the ingredients when Yo-Han stops him, asking if there’s something to heat up and eat.

Another hint is the bottle with pasta in the kitchen. It got almost empty with the difference in just two episodes (from episode four to the beginning of episode six). Ga-On didn't cook anything with pasta for Elijah as an apology, nor did he cook something with pasta for Yo-Han.

And the way how Ga-On sighs and says “let’s eat like normal people,” when he made that breakfast makes sense since Yo-Han thinks he doesn't know the taste of food, so Ga-On’s meals probably weren't that delicious... but they still were made with love.

Bonus: ...are we really talking about kimchi here?

let’s all take a moment to remember why gaon chose soohyun over yohan in ep 12 bc i feel like we need to revisit this and refresh our memories as to why it happened.

that while it might’ve been seen as gaon “betraying” yohan, it’s the catalyst for the rest of the series for yohan to understand why he cannot continue to repressess his emotions and gaon’s ultimate love for yohan.

  1. it doesn’t make sense for gaon to choose yohan given minister cha’s death just happened. while yohan thought at this point, gaon had chosen him and his side, gaon realized the consequences of their actions had real effects on people who have done nothing wrong (and i say this relatively speaking. minister cha is responsible for things, yes, but gaon was able to justify their actions towards people they had concrete evidence of wrongdoing. with minister cha, they were still trying to piece her together to take her down, and in doing so, she killed herself).
  2. seeing the consequences of their actions, of gaon seeing what he was a part of, scared the living shit out of him. if yohan hadn’t asked for gaon to choose in that moment, he would’ve had his freak out and most likely stuck with yohan after working his way through the situation mentally. but yohan had asked because soohyun had found them in that room. yohan, who had understood how grave that was for soohyun to find them - not because they were actually in the wrong - because he knew now that she’d be able to do anything with that scene and twist it however she wanted, which she did, to some degree, when she failed to ask gaon what really happened.
  3. gaon has known yohan for all of a few weeks. with two devil’s on gaon’s shoulder telling him not to trust yohan, trying to do so, and then this happening, it’s much easier to revert back to distrust when he hasn’t known this person for as long as he has soohyun and his professor.
  4. scared people always find comfort and safety. it makes it easier to think things through, and gaon was already on the brink of losing his childhood best friend because she wanted nothing to do with him because of this situation. imagine throwing years of friendship away over a man you’ve only known for a few weeks, only then for everything you’ve done together come to a head and a woman die as a result?
  5. gaon is in shock. in complete shock, and yohan isn’t because he’s seen death and how ugly life can be. yohan has not taken into account that he is different than other people (not necessarily in a bad way), but he’s had years to harden his heart and his mind to the ugly truths. he’s also learned to cope by emotionally repressing his feelings to get the job done. gaon has not, and nor will he never be that kind of person, no matter the tragedy who goes through. everyone reacts different to their environments and how they cope and process things, and this is a prime example for them both.
  6. gaon was right to be scared of who he was turning into to. him mentioning that the first thing he was worried about was the file on minister cha and not her actual death should be a slap to the face for anyone about their priorities. gaon even realized that if they had the file, that still wouldn’t have justified her dying, that finding the files wouldn’t make minister cha’s death worth it, by any means. regardless of the files were found or not, a death is a death.
  7. gaon realizes how they’re playing god by playing chess games, moving pieces and thinking they can plan for next steps, especially because yohan is under the belief that humans are predictable, but what about when they’re not?
  8. gaon did not want to lose soohyun over this. that was his main motivation over this, which is why he confused that he liked her and wanted to be with her because at that point, he’d do anything to stop her from leaving his life. that’s even living with a false confession of love because he knew it was the one angle he had. that’s not to say it was done maliciously either. gaon, at this point, is desperate, riding on emotional fumes of someone’s death, not having his support system and completely lost. why wouldn’t he go for the one thing he knows will get someone to stay? isn’t that what yohan did with him in terms of the conman?
  9. gaon was upset at yohan for him reprimanding gaon for soohyun bc for yohan, that’s gaon going to see a cop and not a friend. which leads back to my previous point above about how yohan is used to plan after plan and has little to no interest in processing what’s happened. he’s able to walk over the bridge and continue moving forward. gaon does not have that luxury.
  10. truthfully, if you rewatch the scene and listen to yohan, it’s also his insensitivity that drives gaon away. because yohan is focused on the fight. he’s not focused on helping gaon process what happened bc yohan does not need to. he’s not that kind of person. but gaon isn’t, and he’s failed to realize this. this is to due to yohan’s lack of social skills and being so focused on the bigger picture.
  11. gaon’s leaving is also one of yohan’s biggest wake up calls in terms of his relationship with elijah, understanding and feeling regret and paying attention to how he approaches emotion and the other people in his life. especially in the wake of k’s death shortly after.
  12. gaon retreating to soohyun and the entire confessional moment helps gaon understand that he never needed soohyun the way he thought he did. yes, as a friend, but he once told her that he couldn’t live without her, and him going back to her, essentially regressing to who he was before, in one way or another, helps him understand that he can do that, and he has to once yohan leaves him the justice system to fix. sometimes it takes us going back to the things that were comfortable and consistent for us to understand the personal growth we’ve had while not in that situation anymore. think of ex-relationships you try to culminate in your life with friends, family, etc, and coming to the realization that you are a different person, and they no longer fit into your life the way they once did because you grew out of it.

Yohan's first words to Gaon are an apology. He's saying sorry for making Gaon feel uncomfortable with his stare. What makes this much more powerful though, is that this is the one and only time Yohan apologises to ANYONE for ANYTHING through the entirety of the series.

Way to go Kim Gaon! You made the ever unapologetic Kang Yohan say "I'm sorry".
