Where darkness dwells

Thick as oil, black as smog, this was the never ending feeling he felt. Everyday since that moment all he could ever feel was cold, the brittle fingers of death slowly touching his mind. With every breath he could see it.

The chill of the waste was almost comforting. As he lay on the cold sand slowly watching his breath leave his parted lips all he could do was watch. One puff after the next, mixing with the chilled air to create something new. Something….temporary. Shu had felt this many times, Immorton knows how many times he had felt that chill creep up his spine, slowly rising till it seeped into his head. He had seen it many times, heard of the feeling, and even witnessed what this power can do.

Even with all his books and all his friends he still couldn’t prevent it. No matter how many times he had seen it, no matter how many times he had tried to force it away. It just wasn’t enough.

Another slow breath escaped him, slowly he blinked, his vision was starting to blurr as a tell-tell sign that his time was almost up. The ground no longer seemed as cold as it once did. The stars above seemed to no longer give him strength as the slowly faded in his mind. All he could do was breath, as a slight burning sensation creped down his face. A last visage of warmth as a single tear meet the sand bellow his ear. With his last breath he felt no pain, in his final hour all he wanted was to be alone amongst the darkness, to end the suffering that griped his heart and his mind. As that final puff ascended to the sky, as his life seeped from his wrists all he ever wanted was to be free from the pain.
