You guys are we not listening to the same song, I know it’s not as dark as LWYMMD but it’s definitely not the Today Was A Fairytale that everyone is making it out to be. “Holding him for ransom”“Stealin hearts and runnin off and never sayin sorry”“I forget their names now, I’m so very tame now” i know the chorus is soft and all but she literally says “let the games begin” the narrative is still very blank space-esque because it’s literally introducing her reputation. if you’re looking for a love song, be patient. this one is very much meant to be taken like I Know Places, and I think it’s an injustice to neglect the complexity of it just because we want to hear something romantic.
