Overdrive has a new mobile app called LIBBY I find it easier to use.  It’s the same content as Overdrive just better for mobile.  Overdrive and Libby both let you send items to your kindle as well.  

Can confirm Overdrive is amazing. 

I work in the largest library system in my state (17 branches in total).

I use it not only for ebooks, but movies as well.

You shouldn’t be treating nb people like the secret sexy 3rd gender. Nb people don’t look like a mash of male and female, they’re not sexy androgynous twinks

white skinny androgynous nb people reblogging this and saying shit like “Well this is what I look like! So I feel represented!” Are literally part of the problem. I’m not saying that no nb people are white/skinny/andro, I’m saying that those are the only type of nb bodies that get represented 

its nice, isnt it, when nonbinary people are visibly distinct from binary people? its easy, isnt it? you can remember to use “they” for people who have no visible breasts or beards, right? no need to challenge the notion of male vs female if nonbinary people have their own look, isnt that right?

its time to step the fuck up and really understand that nonbinary looks like anybody. nonbinary looks like you. nonbinary looks like your family and friends and it looks like the strangers who you thoughtlessly call “he” or “she” because of their appearance.

really supporting nonbinary people means understanding that theres no visual tell - you wont recognise all of us as nonbinary on sight. you have to actually LISTEN to us. you have to BELIEVE us. and it means challenging your assumptions about gender, starting with the assumption that youre an ally to trans people while youre still doing puerile shit like gendering body parts and clothes.

NONBINARY LOOKS LIKE ANYBODY. ANY BODY CAN BE NONBINARY.

it’s more along the lines of “you guys were fucking making fun of me for liking this before it was cool” kinda complex

Also a “I super excitedly tried to show this to you years ago and you brushed it off and now you think you introduced it to me and that is infuriating” kinda complex

crazy ex girlfriend fans are still #team nathaniel or #team greg the day before the finale………….. like this unhealthy prioritization of romance is so deeply entrenched in our culture that even a narrative that exists to actively deconstruct this is not exempt from being given this treatment. like, in many cases, it may be absurd and yet not actively discouraged, such as, say, how katara in atla was expected to end up with either aang or zuko, and people got in genuine, very impassioned fights over this supposed fact, when to anyone with eyes it should be obvious that they are not the only viable males of her species with whom she must reproduce for survival, and should therefore be allowed to find a boyfriend with whom she has actual romantic chemistry, in her own time, because she is 14. but she did “end up” with aang, for some horrible reason, (that’s not me advocating for zutara just to be clear it is not a binary and they are both bad!) and so #team aang ppl felt vindicated and #team zuko ppl lost their damn minds. crazy ex girlfriend’s entire thesis exists to deconstruct this, the idea that rebecca must “end up” with one of these three men, or should even prioritize romance to the degree we do as consumers of media brainwashed to love love (our idea of romantic love as portrayed in popular fiction, that is), and yet there are still audience members postulating who she’s gonna end up with. the idea of “ending up” with someone is a lie. step outside the incredibly tiny box you’ve built for yourself! get some fresh air! breathe! 

This is the real admissions scandal.

I’m here for women with powerful dogs!

My land lady is a 90lb 88 year old woman with 5 full grown Rottweiler boys. They sit around her when she gardens and watch her like the secret service. If you show up to pay rent they all stand up and stand between you and her.

It’s intimidating to have 5 pony size boys all staring at you until she stands up realizes it’a you and walks to you.

My favorite part is she wades through them like swamp water saying in her cute old voice ‘move’ ‘move please’ and each one she nudges to move wags his whole body at her touch and stumbles out of the way like he’s been knocked over by a truck. It gives me life paying my rent.
