this is a purely platonic murder investigation

You can call me Wyn. Mama & Wife irl. In my 30's. Prefers to stay out of fandom drama these days, but will probably fight you over female characters. In this house we don't tolerate any slander of: Geri, Cassie, Stella, Sadie, or Cordell/Geri. Multi-shipper. All Walker (almost) all the time. Talks about Cordell/Cassie more than the average Walker fan. #1 Cassie Perez Stan.

ok i pulled back up the episode specifically to watch the stella and august scene and

-august is told by his uncle that he should leave stella alone and just can't do it. i think his gut was telling him something was wrong--besides the 200oz steak nachos XD--and he couldn't bring himself to ignore it

-my sadie/august loving heart notices that august seems very specifically concerned about stella chasing sadie off

-stella's hair looks amazing in this scene

-the way that august hands stella back the money as a way of underlining his sincerity though!

-the pause and then him softly telling her she can always ask for his help!! you can just see him figuring out how to approach this, how to get stella to let him help and not to brush him off like she's been doing with liam!

-his whole speech about them having each other's backs though 🥺🥺

-ok stella soliciting the promise of august's silence up front in contrast to cordell and trey trying to get it from cassie after the fact though XD

-and he doesn't hesitate!!

-august understanding that stella doesn't trust witt, she just wants to help is a nice touch. like, he's not trying to argue with her about it.

-also...that they've had distance over the summer/early fall is confirmed with august saying "it must have been really awful thinking you killed him". like august has been partying with his friends and training (even pre bootcamp) and doing his thing and stella seems to have mostly been avoiding everyone but liam and so he didn't see much of her suffering up close. also he talks about her being away at college as a way of pointing out that they haven't stayed in touch/close like they have been in the past.

-"which is why we got to stay together" and the little smiles they give each other 🥺🥺

-"i'm basically a navy seal, you know" XD (this is obviously a funny joke to cheer stella up, but it's funny because it's the same younger-sibling puffing up/bluffing that we see cassie and liam do)

-i will probably never be over the way that stella looks to august for reassurance before heading for the door and then the way that august hides behind the door to get his dramatic entrance moment. and the way that he sizes witt up, makes sure witt know he can be a threat before he shakes his hand. and then making sure witt knows that stella has her brother on her side by introducing himself with his last name. 🥺🥺 (also since we know witt specifically said that stella wouldn't be a problem this feels a little but like "but her brother might")

-i just i love this whole scene and their relationship so much

4x04 Review

I thought last week's episode had a lot but I expect things are only going to be ramping up from here because Holy Shit there was a lot going on this episode. "Insane B.S. and Bloodshed" was definitely the right title even if working it into the dialogue was a bit clunky.

As usual, I'm covering each plotline in order of how much I'm rotating them in my mind so here goes:

First up, let's talk about our cliffhanger plot.

The episode picks up right where we left off last week with Stella driving Sadie and Witt somewhere at gunpoint. As they drive, Sadie acts almost nonchalant and tells us that Witt won't hurt either of them and demands more information. Witt does put the gun down and explains his current situation: he doesn't want to kill them, he wants their help. A very scary woman hired him to find a necklace in Geri's house and when he not only failed to find the necklace but tried to hide his failure by faking his death, he got an intimidating message. He doesn't know who this woman is, only that she really, really wants this necklace and Witt's life is in danger until he delivers it.
