House update with no photos because everyone likes that.

We have A/C upstairs! We installed mini splits instead of a whole upstairs duct system so there's some weird things to get used to but overall I like them and I'm really happy about having better climate control upstairs than just a window unit and space heater.

The living room nearing completion which if you don't count the A/C is our first fully completed project in renovating the house before we move in.

Sheetrock has been fixed and we painted on Saturday. The floor has been ordered and should be delivered next week. That can go down basically as soon as it's delivered, and then we put the trim back on and voila! Brand new living room in our farmhouse.

Then.... I start all over again with the two upstairs bedrooms, hallway, and bathroom x.x

What's on my plate right now with the renovation is the living room. We just fixed termite damage to the floor beams and decided to go with ductless mini split vents for the AC upstairs, so now the room is ready for paint and floors. Which means I have to pick paint and floors and...um... help😅

Have two paint sample pots I will throw on the walls next week, one is a blue tone white and the other green tone. I have some floors picked out too, but the ones I like are really out of budget and I'm struggling to find something that I like + affordable + in stock. Googling for inspiration is hard because the internet only wants to show me designed IG houses and I just.... want a bright, inviting living room? So anyway show me your floors I need help. These are my favorite two choices:

I love maple floors for the look but they scratch too easily for me. Kids and dogs, I need scratch resistance.

I'm becoming more open to laminate flooring for the price but love the wood feel from engineered hardwood.

Choosing is hard.

I haven't ridden in a few years while I've been putting my life together, so I haven't been using this blog. But this is going to change soon because I am in the process of renovating an old farm house that.... I bought 😁

Moving back to the country and popping out my second kid are all that stand in my way of having horses outside my window again. And I'm... I'm happy.

In my absence I have also have hit some new lows with my mental health which prompted me to start therapy. Currently looking for a new therapist and every day is a fight to take another step. So far I'm winning. But my decline in mental health caused me to withdraw from every social media space I was active in and dramatically reduce my socialization with other people in general. I stopped trying to join group chats, I stopped joining groups, I stopped commenting, I stopped posting, I stopped sharing. Partly because my way of speaking and how I find it difficult to relate with other people sometimes and I have trouble getting my pov across. Partly because I had been hurt so many times trying to be friends with people who always seemed to keep me at arms length, because the internet does that. And partly because I have always had a problem with thinking my friends don't remember who I am, which causes me to recoil from friendships because I have already assumed they don't want me around and that I'm a bother. These are the things I've been working on. I started playing an online game I used to play and then joined my first discord server for that game so I could talk to my friends. This sounds so simple but it was a big deal for me.

So, all of this to say, I want to try being more social and active like I used to be. So I want to use this blog again, but since it'll be a couple years still before I'm back in the saddle regularly, would anyone be interested if I posted our progress with the house renovations? I don't have anywhere to talk about it really and talking would help me keep my ideas in order if nothing else. What do you think?
