Farrah gave him a soft smile. “Don’t worry about it, dear. It’s how this universe was meant to happen.” She couldn’t fault the small Machine for feeling the way he did, but at the same time, she didn’t quite understand how things worked in his universe. Though, it sounded like a wonderful universe to visit if even for a short time.
He returned the smile, feeling a bit reassured. The story she had told him was pretty heavy. Though he supposed she’d want to hear the differences. “From what I can understand. This... ‘Emily’ person never existed. Or if she did, my dad, Dr. Thomas Light, never met her.
“Dr. Wily was very jealous of Dr. Light’s success. The two had a bit of a falling out before they both parted ways. Reason being, they experimented with a new type of robot. My brother, Proto Man. He was fully operational, but because of a glitch, he was given complete free will. But that wasn’t the problem. The problem was that his core was defective and could explode at any moment. But repairing him would supposedly come at the cost of his free will. So... He escaped the lab before Dr. Light could repair him, and that was the last Dr. Wily worked with Dr. Light. ...For a while, anyway.
“They never met anyone named ‘Joe’. The only ‘Joe’ I know is a series of military robots Dr. Light and Dr. Wily collaborated on known as ‘Sniper Joes’. After their falling out, Wily made a lot more variations of them.
“And then Dr. Light made me and my sister, Roll, around the same time. I was a lab assistant while she was a house-keeping robot. I wasn’t always the super fighting robot you see before you.” He told Farrah with a smile.
