I’m sorry that assumed you were white. What you said did have me emotional and quite frankly what you said sounds like it came from a place of both ignorance and privilege.
You saying you’re tired of these “woke” high school students made me really question your solidarity with people of color or even your own race/ethnicity. Those “woke” high school students have been through shit that you possibly could not imagine let alone understand. You just watch the videos and think “hmm, that’s really fucked up. What about the teacher?” The real question is what did the teacher do to trigger such an emotional reaction out of those students?
Instead of trying to understand their position and mental state, you just jumped over to the side of the ones who actually pulled such a reaction out of them. You didn’t listen to a word from that girl who was crying in class about becoming a lawyer because she feared for the lives closest to her. Or another young lady who did a much better job than the teacher explaining how congress essentially blocked most of the good President Barack Obama was trying to do.
Once again, I apologize for assuming you were white. But with that level of ignorance and unwillingness to try and understand the situation, you might as well be.
Look dude, I don’t owe you or any minority anything, period. We are not a hive-mind, we are individuals and I certainly don’t owe you my allegiance. You and other minorities don’t get a pass because we’re both not white, if your movement is garbage then I’m in no way shape or form obligated to support it. I think you’re giving high schoolers way too much credit, they probably got upset at the teaching and are needlessly attacking the teacher, who generally has no say in the matter and doesn’t deserve to be disrespected like that. They aren’t paid enough to deal with your bitching and your idealistic point of view and they probably don’t give a damn either, and neither do I. Just shut up and leave them out of it.

If I were going to make up something, you’d better believe that it would be more interesting than ‘one time I bought a Co-op healthy options chicken madras and my bank froze my account’. - do not take 8 am classes
- dont take 3 hr classes that only meet once a week
- sleep
- when u write an essay pick out the quotes/examples u want and write the essay around it
- email ur teachers and meet with ur advisors regularly
- quizlet
- TRIPLE CHECK YOUR ALARMS
- bring tupperware to the dining hall to smuggle out extra food
- dont wear your lanyard around your neck
- try to group your classes together in back-to-back time blocks. you wont want to go back to class once you get home
- STAY ON TOP OF YOUR HOMEWORK EVEN IF THERE ARE OPEN DUE DATES
- when walking on the sidewalk keep all the way to the right especially if your pace is slow
- yes, sometimes we can hear the music through your earbuds. we really don’t care or mind
- try not to eat a whole bunch after 10PM, especially fatty foods like pizza or lots of pop. you’ll get stomach aches in the morning
- nerd clubs are 100% okay and there are tons of students who share your interests with you, you just have to look
