what did we do to deserve animal crossing. like how did nintendo know it was always a dream of mine to live in a cute pink house and befriend talking deer and hamsters

fun fact animal crossing was developed with themes of moving from loneliness towards community and building friendships because the creator, katsuya eguchi, felt that same sort of isolation when he moved from chiba to kyoto and realized how much he missed that connection between himself and his friends and family

this is such a good addition i never knew about thank you!

I’m so excited because I’ve started a new collection which I’ve been wanting to get into for the longest time! Antique (and vintage) postcards! I picked these up at the local fair, and all but the top right one (1960’s) are over 100 years old! Some of the cards even have writing on them, and it really gives you a little peak into what it was like back in those days. Most of the messages are to friends and loved ones telling the recipients about their trip and wishing them well. I feel like it really meant something to get a postcard like this, compared to to now when everything is so instant, we sometimes take for granted how quickly we can call or text someone. The coolest thing though is that some cards were used to send codes messages, so things like which angle the stamp is affixed, or which direction you wrote in would have hidden meanings! I’ll show an example in my stories if you want to see! Question of the day: Do you have something quirky you collect, or a collection you dream of starting? . . .

YOU WROTE THE RULES. READ THEM.

I don’t care if you’re not a huge fan of stand-up comedy, it should be a requirement that you watch Hannah Gadsby’s Nanette. It’s on Netflix, and it’s amazing.

my mom has finally understood the concept of how to use “tea” as slang, but only kind of. she came into my room and said “jessie, i have tea today” and i was obviously like what happened but as it turns out she just thinks tea means information so she told me that she got avocadoes on sale. that was the tea.

Damn RIGHT that’s the tea

Anyone else boot up their favourite games every so often not even to play the story, or complete missions, but just to…exist in that world for a while? Pick some flowers, walk along a particularly scenic area, watch the sky change and listen to the music. Maybe visit an NPC you like, or check in and see how your companions are doing. Just…be in that world and feel at home
