You know what, if this whole twitter blue thing manages to make insulin affordable, then it would all be worth it.
I knew about the tweets but I didn’t know about the stocks. yay
[ID: A tweet by verified user Rafael Shimunov is on Mastodon (@rafaelshimunov) in twitter dark mode that says:
Eli Lilly stock isn't just tanking because of a satirical Tweet on Musk's hellscape, it's tanking because millions of people are asking why we have to pay for insulin, when it was made to be free.
That's why other insulin stocks are falling too.

@can-i-make-image-descriptions I was the anon, this was the post !
What’s really interesting to me here is that I happen to be type 1 diabetic. And Eli Lilly happens to make the insulin I’m currently on.
And you see, November isn’t actually Disability Awareness Month. March is Disability Awareness month, and July is Disability Pride Month.
November is specifically Diabetes Awareness Month. Even more fitting. And you see, it’s November because Frederick Banting, the discoverer of insulin, was born on November 14th. That’s why November 14th is World Diabetes Day.
The patent for insulin was sold for $1 to the University of Toronto. Banting said “insulin does not belong to me, it belongs to the world”
