the point that struck me in dan’s video after re-watching is right after he mentions he attempted suicide. just listen to his voice. he never told anyone. it’s this uncanny mix of uncomfortable at the rawness of the situation and the awakening that, holy shit, dan has experienced some really hard times. the joke immediately afterwards breaks the tense atmosphere but for that split second, the way he says ‘literally’… i dont think ive ever heard him speak with so much emotion.
