A Heartfelt Invitation

Hey there guys. been a while. Jan here, former Ask-the-Crusaders. I’ve been inactive for so long here, I feels like I don’t even belong anymore. I tried to force myself to cook up come new comics, come back, maybe even try posting some original things, but nothing really came out of it. The recent drama about twitter and the so called migration that’s happening along side with it has finally convinced me to properly close this blog and give my goodbye and thanks for these years of fun, support and experience. The blogs won’t be deleted, everything will remain here, but it’s not gonna get more updates. This time for real. Sorry to raise your expectations recently, I thought some hype would motivate me enough to try and start fresh, but it hasn’t been that way. I’m currently busy with my animation projects to which I’m dedicating myself fully, so either way, my time to contribute to this blog would have been minimum to begin with.

I’m still active on my Twitter, however, and if you are by chance interested in our new and exciting projects, it would mean the world to me if you’d start following me there. I miss you all and I truly want to get back in touch somehow.

Frequent YouTube Streams have also been happening, and I link to them on Twitter, so if you want, we can interact together as you can come watch me work on my next videos, that’d be grand!

>> Follow me on Youtube by clicking here. (And ring the bell!)

A lot has been going on these years (First the C&D and Hasbro Stuff, Real life stuff, then the YouTube Algorhythm) and we really need all the support we can get just to get back to the point where we were before, which is also why we opened a Patreon. If you’re interested, your financial support would mean all. Thank you in advance for considering!

We’re working really hard to create something new and fresh for all of you to enjoy, but we’re starting to fear nobody will notice because of how hard it seems to be to reaching out the our audience right now. This is why I’ve decided to open a Public Discord. You’re all welcome to join it!

IN CONCLUSION:

I am really sorry if this sounds like nothing more than me shamelessly self promoting and selling out, but all I’ve ever wanted was to make animations and make people smile.

A series of unfortunate coincidences and circumstances has made it so that I now have to struggle and work twice as hard just to get back on track. I’m not getting any younger and, If this is what it takes, then I say “So be it” as I swallow my pride and hope for the best.

Thank you all for taking the time to read and consider my words.

To those of you who will come to the Discord server and my streams and even support me on Patreon or just follow me on twitter: Thank you so much. I can’t wait to chat with you! To those of you who decide not to, or that just don’t care anymore: I say fair enough, and I still thank you for these past few years.

Take care. See you on the other side.

It’s all about setting the right mood...

For some time now I've been studying a certain style that one of my favorite anime studios do. It's not a Drawing style, but more like, the composition of post production effects (lighting, filters and stuff) that they put on their characters. I think I might have cracked to code. Check this out! (on PC rather than Mobile is advised)

Just watched "game over", you probably got this message a lot so, Thank you it was truly beautiful, stuff like this why i got into the show in the first place. But now i wonder do you still like the show as much as before.

I would argue I’m the one to thank you for taking the time to watch it and write me this message! I’m glad it resonated with you and I hope you’ll stick around for more stuff! As for the question regarding the show - I admittedly started losing interest midway through season 6 and apart for maybe a couple of episodes, I haven’t kept up with the new seasons. I still like the show. Regardless of what happened, past feelings haven’t changed. I think I just grew out of it, so to speak, if that’s a fair comment for me to make.

Our newest Music Video Game Over is now available in 4K on Youtube, with tweaked audio and added sound effects! We noticed the 1080p version was compressed by Youtube in a way that destroyed most of the details due to the extremely dark scenes. By Uploading the video in 4K, Youtube allows for more bitrate, making the whole thing look better. Now this can be considered a proper send-off that we can be happy with. Hope you guys enjoy it, thank you so much for your support!

This is the Animatic to our newest video, GameOver, hopefully you guys will find it interesting enough from a behind-the-scenes point of view! More stuff will be released on Patreon in the coming weeks, like production shots, and the Custom Photoshop Brushes used to create the final backgrounds! Final Version can be found here. Please consider supporting our future projects on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/JanAnimationStudios

But what about the new Mlp show you were working on with Shadyvox? I heard it was a successor to Buttons Adventures but it would have a new animation style and OC. I’m sorry if I’m bugging you with this question. I just need to be sure.

It’s not Mlp.

A long long time ago... back in July of 2012. More specifically on the 31st, the first pony music video I worked on was released, featuring Mandopony’s song and EileMonty's voice talent, Picture Perfect Pony.

On the 4th of August 2013, Button's Adventures was premiered at GalaCon featuring Blake “ShadyVox” Swift as Button Mash and EileMonty as Cream Heart. A few months after Button's Adventures' first episode released, the music video Don't Mine at Night was finished and uploaded on December 6th, 2013. On the 18th of March 2014, we received a Cease and Desist letter from Hasbro, meaning any and all pony videos had to be halted. Back in the day, Pony Rock Anthem was in the middle of production and unfortunately, never came to be. To close the circle, we decided to work on a last Button Mash video as a proper send-off. The video has been released as Game Over on July 29th, 2018, at GalaCon. Thank you all for this amazing ride, we hope you’ll stick by for our future projects.

I just wanted to thank you for pulling me out of my depression. Back in 2013 I was on the verge of suicide, but your CMC ask-blog gave me the spark of hope. And then your Button's Adventures along with the show MLP: FiM did give me a smile and a desire to live. Maybe if you hadn't started this blog, it's unlikely I would be alive right now. I'm not the best financially, so I'm sorry I can't express my gratitude in practice. So, here's my bow and thank you very much!

It’s been my absolute pleasure, man. I’m sorry life hasn’t been smiling to you, but that’s when you gotta fight and keep on going. I can’t pretend to know what you’ve been through, but I’ll just say I’ve had those thoughts as well, when the Cease and Desist from Hasbro came around. Nevertheless, such is life. There’s ups and downs, and as long as you fight for your happiness, you’ll eventually find it. So please man, keep on fighting. Never give up. I hope my future works will keep on making you smile. Sometimes a smile is all a person needs.

So since the game over video is a closure, does this mean that even if Hasbro just all of a sudden stopped the cease and desist, you won’t return to Buttons Adventures?

That will unlikely ever happen, but yes, I believe it’s time for us to focus on our own original things :)
