"just period pains"

So today at school I went to the office after hiding in the girls toilets at lunch because I had really bad period pains, and when I say bad I mean couldn’t walk because my back hurt so much and couldn’t breathe well + all the usual symptoms (cramps etc.) Anyway I went to the office and the woman there let me sit down in the bit for ill people and left me there for half an hour until she came over to me and asked me what’s wrong I said “I have cramps” and she said “is it that time of the month” and I just told her I had “period pains” because it’s a natural thing that I’m not embarrassed about + I was in too much pain. Anyway she wouldn’t let me go home because it was ‘JUST period pains’ bearing in mind I was crying and shaking because Of the pain and there was a boy sitting next to me who said he felt sick and he was sent home. so in the end I just texted my mum and she came to get me so she just turned up and the lady at the reception was like “you were using your phone inappropriately” like sorry but I was in so much pain and you wouldn’t let me go home of course I’m going to use my phone to tell my mum that I’m not dying but I was in pain so she could come and pick me up. Smh my school is shit

What I absolutely hate about this is that pain is classified differently depending on who you are. Pain is PAIN. You were literally crying and she still wouldn’t send you home, and that’s just utter BULLSHIT. And also, the person dealing with you was a WOMAN?? Shouldn’t she freaking know what the hell “period cramps” actually means??? Like wow lady, way to go. I’m sorry you’re having such bad cramps, and I hope you’re feeling better now or start to feel better soon.
