There's too much in this world to only like a few things. I like many. Cosplay being one.

I love Harley Quinn. She is my favorite female villain in all of comics. I can talk about her character but anyone who has read comics pre-New 52 know her story so there's no need to dive too deep into that.

Let's talk about this picture. The subject here is about her attire in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie. And the arguing statement is she wore it in the comics. Here are the two side's to this coin:

It's true that the traditional Harley Quinn outfit is a lot less revealing. As a matter of fact she was covered head to toe. And for decades that's how we saw her. So naturally it's hard for people to accept a drastic change.

So then there's the comment on the last line. It's a fair question. But let's not pretend she's always dressed like that in the comics. For as long as the Suicide Squad has been around, she was never a member in the comics until 2011. Which so happens to be when they started "undressing" her. If that's the case, wouldn't you say they are dressing her accurately? And weren't her outfits in video games, such as Injustice and the Arkham titles, even more sexualized? Personally, I think her movie outfit is a lot more tame than both the comic and video games.   Since production began early 2009, one can also argue that the movie was actually a precursor to the comic with plans to add Harley to the squad, thus debuting Harley Quinn as a new member in the New 52 Suicide Squad. But even then, who's to say they planned how she would look.

Bottom line, Suicide Squad comic Harley is in Suicide Squad movie and she looks fine. Pre-Suicide Squad Harley would look of out of place in the movie in my opinion. If anything, I wish she had more of that iconic accent but I think I can get past that and still enjoy this movie.
