I was trying to find out if Kermit was eligible to be pope and I found a blog that says he's the perfect example of a catholic priest

What do you expect? He's a man of the cloth

God damn you that's perfect

I honestly can't believe how many people have replied or reblogged with "why were you trying to figure out if Kermit could be Pope?"

Why wouldn't I? Isn't that the kind of thing you google just for fun?

Come on, live a little.

New voice Kermit couldn't be pope though.

This is an otherwise fine analysis diminished by an overlooked detail: Neil does not die in his "business" suit. Mann makes a point to show him pilfering the uniform of a hotel security guard. The effect of that symbolic distinction is enormous. He goes to his death in the burial shroud of a corporate grunt and diet cop, a night watchman for the most liminal of liminal spaces, an airport hotel in the city of Los Angeles. There is no nobility in his demise except what the audience experiences as a wishful projection. To incite an awareness of that disjunction is really the whole point. The tragedy is a senseless one, and just as critically, an abject one.
