“If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy, don’t hesitate. Give in to it. There are plenty of lives and whole towns destroyed or about to be. We are not wise, and not very often kind. And much can never be redeemed. Still, life has some possibility left. Perhaps this is its way of fighting back, that sometimes something happens better than all the riches or power in the world. It could be anything, but very likely you notice it in the instant when love begins. Anyway, that’s often the case. Anyway, whatever it is, don’t be afraid of its plenty. Joy is not made to be a crumb.”

[grabs your shirt] listen. listen to me. the practical is holy. the everyday is sacred. the simple act of surviving is divine. do you get it? sanctity begins at home, in the hands that build and the lives we live and the deaths we die and the worms that eat our bodies. if making something by hand is not worthy of veneration then nothing is.

You gotta just. Unfollow blogs that upset you. If you are so angry at a total stranger that you send them multiple anonymous messages, that is not normal. That is not healthy behavior.

Halo Tumblr, I’m feeling curious, would y’all reblog or comment on this with one bit of Halo lore you do like, and one bit you don’t?

Likes: The story and lives of generations II and III of Spartans. Troubled and orphaned kids turned superhumans and war machines. You really feel for them as they never got to lead normal lives, but for one reason or another it hardly ever bothered most of them. The respective circumstances that lead to their entry into either program are both horrifically unethical, but to have dedicated themselves to their skills and the defense of humanity — to have carved out some semblance of greatness, made themselves into something worthy of awe, and out of what is otherwise a shameful history is something truly extraordinary.

Dislikes: Mostly a gripe on the game’s plot, I actually dislike the focus on John as THE central character to the universe. I do like John and his story, and I understand why it’s like that — easier to consume for the average player, easier for development and story direction of the game itself — but in an ideal world, the story of Halo is really about the collective efforts of any one group or faction, and I’d love to see and explore the development of characters from Blue team, Tom and Lucy, Veta, basically any of the big names from the books, and see them firsthand animated and alive. For me personally, the game’s narrative felt it’s strongest in Halo 2 as we got to see more of the UNSC and Covenant, and for the first time after Halo: CE, see more principle characters other than Cortana get to bounce their personalities off the otherwise stoic John. He wasn’t always the focus — Miranda, Johnson, Thel, and of course Cortana — all contributed to the story in a major way, and John felt like he was part of something bigger, something organic, apart of a living universe where everyone struggled and it wasn’t just a typical hero against the universe story. The same feeling can work on a smaller scale too — the dynamic of Noble team and Alpha Nine, for example — and unfortunately I think we lost some of that in 343’s trilogy. The new trilogy focused more on personal stories: John and Cortana in Halo 4, John and Locke in Halo 5, and John and the Weapon in Infinite. yes, Halo 5 was a personal story despite other members of Blue and Osiris also being present. They didn’t contribute much, and lets be real, much as we might love them they were each just a step above characters like N’tho and Usze in terms of plot relevance.

There’s nothing wrong with writing those kinds of stories, and it’s just more my preference. I’ll always enjoy those story beats between two deeply connected characters, but broad interactions with an ensemble cast can be great fun too. I don’t know where Infinite and the rest of the Halo franchise is going, but we have a whole slew of characters to pick from that deserve a little time on screen, and people who can shift the narrative just as good as John.

your number one priority in any souls game should be your fashion.

Even though the game will allow you to beat the final boss with whatever u want, you CANNOT allow yourself to feature in those cutscenes without your ideal fit. This is what the hardcore gamers mean by “git gud”.

if i was playing a fromsoftware game, i would simply block and avoid all attacks, and strike when my opponent was vulnerable
