A Vintage Inspired Brooklyn Letterpress Wedding Invitation

This beautiful, unique design was brought to us by our customer. Letterpress was the perfect way to enhance this vintage inspired Brooklyn invitation. I can’t imaging a more lovely way to end the summer than a perfectly styled Brooklyn wedding. The couple chose a smooth stock, less textured than we typically print on, but the results are incredibly crisp and beautiful. Letterpress lends itself to detailed design. The border on this invite is delicate yet sharp, and printed so wonderfully.
We mixed the color so it was just right, and printed the red border and design first. Next, we aligned the plate for the text, and printed the second color. There’s nothing like beautiful two-color registered letterpress with a nice deep impression! I love seeing a wedding invitation design go through the printing process. We printed ninety invitations, which were then finished with a second layer of the same paper, glued securely to the back of the card. The sides of the paper are trimmed flush, giving the appearance of a single, thick piece of card stock. This is called duplexing, and makes the paper extra thick, and adds an extra something to an invitation when you take it out of the envelope.
