Save the Dates

Save the Dates are a great way to make sure your guests write your wedding date on their calendar in ink. You don’t want grandma scheduling a root canal on your big day, so it’s considerate to give your family and friends a heads up that this date is reserved for your “I do’s.”
You want your guests to know the who, when and where; design your Save the Dates to include your names, the date of the…

Wedding Invitation Wording

Wedding invitation wording may seem as daunting as college calculus, but just as mathematical theorems have equations, so do Wedding Invitations:
Hosts² + (Bride + Groom) + Date + Location + (Paper + Ink) = Invitation
Ok, that is a very simplified version, and the truth is there is variation depending on how formal you want to be. But let’s take a look at the factors.
Hosts: Start with the full…

Bridal Shower Invites

You’re hosting the Bridal Shower, and you’ve found the perfect venue that has the perfect tea sandwiches (the bride’s favorite) and now all you need are Bridal Shower invites to let everyone know when and where they can come eat said tea sandwiches and celebrate the bride to be. A weighty task indeed considering you want the invites to be as perfect as cucumber and butter on crustless bread. Kee…

Wedding Thank You Cards

Wedding Thank You cards give you the opportunity to express your appreciation for those who were kind enough to send you gifts on your special day. It also allows the recipients to know that their goods were received and not lost in transit.

Letterpress Wedding Invitations Brooklyn - A Midsummer Night's Dream

This past August we were asked to craft letterpress wedding invitations for NYC Weddings based on A Midsummer Night’s Dream. There are so many places you can have a wedding – in a rustic barn, on the beach, at a vineyard – but there’s a new urban wedding trend that embraces industrial, organic, modern and chic all rolled into one. My Moona trendy bar/restaurant in Brooklyn hosted our fairy tale…

Hello, Fall Favorites!

Hello, fall favorites!
It’s getting cooler outside, and we love sweater weather. Here are a few things that we admire (and want to snuggle up with) this season.
1. If those multicolor refrigerator magnets seem too summery for you, spray paint the letters a metallic for a quick DIY project. | 2. Paired with some easy rolled-up jeans, I’m sure I could wear out a pair of boots this fall like Free…

A Vintage Inspired Brooklyn Letterpress Wedding Invitation
This beautiful, unique design was brought to us by our customer. Letterpress was the perfect way to enhance this vintage inspired Brooklyn invitation. I can’t imaging a more lovely way to end the summer than a perfectly styled Brooklyn wedding. The couple chose a smooth stock, less textured than we typically print on, but the results are incredibly crisp and beautiful. Letterpress lends itself to detailed design. The border on this invite is delicate yet sharp, and printed so wonderfully.

We mixed the color so it was just right, and printed the red border and design first. Next, we aligned the plate for the text, and printed the second color. There’s nothing like beautiful two-color registered letterpress with a nice deep impression! I love seeing a wedding invitation design go through the printing process. We printed ninety invitations, which were then finished with a second layer of the same paper, glued securely to the back of the card. The sides of the paper are trimmed flush, giving the appearance of a single, thick piece of card stock. This is called duplexing, and makes the paper extra thick, and adds an extra something to an invitation when you take it out of the envelope. Look out for more unique letterpress printing projects up on the blog soon!
