it had all happened so fast: first there was the sound of screams before everything grew hot, smoke filling the air. kie could barely even remember when the flames licked upon her arms during all of the chaos. but now that it had all died down, people trying to regroup, she finally had a chance to tie something around the burn. a torn piece of cloth on her upper arm covered the horrid sight but, despite the pain, it did not stop the girl. immediately moved to bellamy’s side and began to walk beside him- as if nothing was wrong: ‘ what can i do to help? ’

It was strange to meet someone of Skaikru so… energetic. So unmarred by their time on earth. So seemingly undamaged. It caught her off guard and she tilted her head, studying the young woman. In fact, Luna couldn’t decide whether or not to address her as a child, or as an adult. She seemed so innocent.
“And yet, I am fine,” she answered, though it was only true in the physical sense. The mercy of death would’ve been easier then the burden of living. “And are you? Okay?”
‘ I mean, I guess so. ’ She muses, limping her way towards a nearby chair. Sometimes it hurt too much to stand on her bad hip but Kie never wanted to show that part of her. Silently she would correct the pain by sitting down or leaning. Never would she admit to it. To her, it was not just an injury but something that wanted so desperately to draw her back.
Eyes look at Luna for a long moment before she speaks again, finding herself shy, ‘ Thank you for helping us. I know a lot of people don’t like us but it’s nice to know someone is willing to help. ’

Fingers wring around his wrists out of habit, despite how much Abby’s told him NOT to touch his fresh wounds. Eyes scan the DESTRUCTION that surrounds them ( that he was a part of ) when he sees a small girl, his small girl running toward him. Despite how SORE he is ( hey, climbing an entire tower to the TOP takes a lot out of you ), as soon as she’s close enough, he wraps her in his arms and picks her up. “Kie,” Marcus breathes, tears welling up in his eyes. “Kie, I’m so sorry.”
She clings to him as though her life depended on it, face buried in his shoulder as she sobbed. Everything was just TOO MUCH for the young girl. Seeing those she loved chipped, the death all around them, the pools of blood that now lined the streets of Polis. It was too much and, for once, Kie just wanted to fall apart and break. ‘ I was so scared, dad. ’ Her voice suddenly breaks through the sobs, though it shakes with every syllable. ‘ I thought I lost you, too. ’

“i mean i’m not necessarily a mechanic or a engineer but i know enough to get by,” and he wouldn’t learn more unless if he practiced. even if it was completely under the the noses of everyone. no one knew he was working on a motor and no one told him to do it, either. jasper kinda did whatever he wanted. he’ll give her a weak smile, moving underneath the rover with a grunt. “mind handing me that wrench over there?” he’ll ask, holding out his hand. “if you want you can come under here and i can show you some stuff,”
immediately she hops off the stool and grabs the wrench, making her way underneath the rover at his side. of course the change of position causes the girl to wince and mumble a curse as a hand massages her hips. ‘ here you go. ’ kie offers the wrench before looking upon the task at hand. ‘ so, what are you doing to the motor? is it broken? ’
Sara stood her ground, not moving closer to the other girl but not moving farther away either. She wasn’t trying to scare the other girl or make her think that she wanted to hurt her but she couldn’t let herself be intimidated by anyone either. She’d learned quickly that doing so was usually never a good idea, so she remained where she stood, “My name is Sara Lance and I have no desire to harm you.” She told her, “I’m not a threat.”
Despite the reassurance from the woman, Kie finds herself still rather tense. Over their short time upon the ground she had been able to easily learn that no one was to be trusted- not at first. ‘ That’s something someone evil would say. ’ The girl observes as she takes a couple of steps back, trying to keep them subtle and quiet. ‘ Why are you out here? What do you want? ’

Luna had been fiddling with things for far too long, but other than lay in bed, they didn’t offer her much else to do. At the moment, her hands and eyes inspected an empty, sticky black vial- one that had until recently hosted her blood. It was still so foreign to see, and yet… she bled in battle. Been injured in fights. Gotten small cuts while fishing, hunting. Were it not for the many years she’d spent not having to see large quantities of it outside her body, she would not be so intrigued yet disgusted.
Luna’s face raised- at least it wasn’t the angry soldier, the one who liked to order her around.
“Yes.” There was an edge to her voice- Luna couldn’t tell if this girl wanted something from her or not. Her eyes fell back to the vial. “Did Abby send you?”
She offers a big smile, head shaking, ‘ No, I wanted to come meet you. Plus, my dad always said it’s polite to introduce yourself. ’ Kiesler had never been close enough to Luna to have to opportunity to have an actual conversation with her and, when she was close-ish, Nathan was in the way and wouldn’t let her through. Now that he was off somewhere else, she slipped in and found the woman.
‘ Plus, I wanted to make sure you were okay. I saw you were sick back in Arkadia. ’

his tired eyes shift over to the other, eyebrows furrowing together. he did feel for kiesler. she had been injured in the mountain and jasper couldn’t save her. that was something he still beat himself up about but he’d never tell the younger. “sure,” he’ll give a little smile. “i’m just working on this motor here.” even though he probably shouldn’t be. he had to keep his hand busy, even if he was mildly buzzed from drinking earlier.
she was not expecting him to say yes to her but almost immediately there is a large grin on her face when he does. nellie does not hesitate to take a seat upon the nearby stool. ‘ i don’t know much about motors but maybe i can help. ’ nellie brings her feet to rest under her legs as she observes him working, that big happy grin never once wavering from her face. jasper was always someone she could count on to want her help, or just let her hang out for a bit. he was one of the few who didn’t treat her as some fragile piece of glass.
she wasn’t entirely sure what to do now with arkadia burnt to the ground but kie could not sit around any longer. standing from her seat under a nearby tree, the young teen made her way to one of their leaders- bellamy. ‘ what can we do? there has to be something. ’ the girl questions, voice suddenly stern with purpose.
‘ i don’t know you. ’ kiesler was sure that it was rude to say but, to be honest, she did not care. people that she did not know were among her least favorite of things- and, yet, here she was meeting yet another one.

she stands tense, jaw locked and hands balled into fists. this was not someone that kie know and, what she had learned from life, is that strangers were never friendly. slowly the blue-haired girl takes a few steps back as her eyes bore into the stranger, ‘ who are you? ’

she went for a walk outside of arkadia, wanting some time to herself after clarke broke the news to all of them. they had worked so hard to get to where they were today, to survive on the ground, only to have it be brought to a close by the prime fire. of course as kiesler was walking around with all these thought she managed to get lost in the trees, eyes wide and frightened as she looked around for anything familiar.

‘ hey jackson. anything i can help with? ’ thanks to her injury from the mountain men, kiesler had been reduced to the bare minimum which was mainly sorting things into piles or helping hold things while others built. but, of course, she wanted to do a lot more and help the others. maybe the one person who didn’t abide by the rules would let her.

she was glad that she managed to convince abby and the others to allow her to come along to the island, chalking it up that there was not much she could do back in arkadia. plus, her knowledge of weapons could somewhat help her- maybe. quietly she moved through the lab that they found until she spotted the woman from the medical center.
