Turn on "prevent third-party sharing" in your settings!

Go into your settings, click on your blog name, scroll down and enable "prevent third-party sharing". I'm gonna be honest, I question how much/if this even prevents any AI bullshit, but do it just in case anyway.

Edit: On Mobile it's the Settings Gear, Visibility, Prevent third-party sharing.

You have to turn that on for all your blogs separately.

In mobile browser it is under Blog Settings. In the sidebar under each sideblog scrolldown menu it should say Blog Settings at the bottom. The option to turn this off will be wherever the "Hide blog from search" options are (Visibility).

Thank you @heywriters for figuring that out!

Things I learned from the comments

  • Sheโ€™s a patron saint of rape and abuse victims
  • She took a vow a chastity
  • A low born guy demanded her to be with him and she turned him down
  • For this she was imprisoned and tortured. This is how she lost her breasts (details not required)
  • She was repeatedly raped.
  • The Catholic Church regards her as a virgin for her peity despite the rape. (No matter your views on virginity this is a pretty interesting statement)
  • She was sentenced to death to burn at the stake but was saved by an earthquake
  • In her holiday people make titty cupcakes

I didnโ€™t know she existed and now I think sheโ€™s a pretty rad woman. I would hesitate calling her a protofeminist as some often do with amazing women in history but she is pretty cool. Also sheโ€™s still very relevant today as women are still treated the way she was.

other things i learned: damn historic artists drew a woman with her own tits on a plate with Cleavage and prominent nip nops???

When is titty cupcake day?

Get yourself a titty cupcake tomorrow

why did historic artists draw a woman with her own tits on a plate with Cleavage and prominent nip nops?

because boobs are cool, because bad womenโ€™s anatomy, or other?

The *fancy* reason is because she was healed by Saint Peter when she went to heaven/the art is meant to depict her soul, which would be unblemished by her torture.

But also probably because boobs are cool, at least for some of these.

Hi followers, you may have noticed my extremely long hiatus. Thatโ€™s gonna continue indefinitely. If I come back Iโ€™m going to have to do a serious cleanup of my dash, which is a hefty task.

Anyway: right now Iโ€™m writing my senior thesis (on dojinshi lol) in preparation to graduate college. Iโ€™m also having lots of nervous breakdowns over politics. Still depressed, anxiety seemed under control until the last few days but now Iโ€™m not so sure. Good stuff! Haha!

here is something i think people donโ€™t understand, when they get all pearl-clutchy about nazis getting punched:

we โ€“ and by this i mean โ€˜people targeted by nazisโ€™, but mostly jews, because i am a jew and thatโ€™s where my experience lies โ€“ we did not want to end up in a scenario where the highlight of our day could be some guy getting punched. in fact, thatโ€™s kind of ghoulish.

like, ok. i am pretty much the worst kind of bleeding-heart, dyed-in-the-wool pacifist you will ever meet, when circumstances allow me to be. i donโ€™t, personally, want to kill nazis; i just want nazis to stop being nazis. ideally, the world would work like it did in my 10-year-old fantasies, where i could walk up to a nazi and be like โ€œjews are people,โ€ and he would be like โ€œholy shit!!! mind blownโ€ and stop being a nazi and weโ€™d sit down and have a deep philosophical discussion.

but real nazis have this unfortunate, terrifying habit of continuing to be nazis. when you hit them with intellectual debate, or reason, or โ€œtoleranceโ€, or โ€œjust giving them a chanceโ€, or โ€œcompromiseโ€, or any of that shit. they continue to be nazis, which means they still want to wipe out me and my people, and many other swathes of people as well.

which is why i understand people who want to kill nazis. or, in a milder variation, punch them.

i wish they would stop being nazis but they wish i would die. when you, historically, adhere to an ideology that advocates mass murder past the point of any nonviolent resistance, you have forfeited your right to a fair debate. you have forfeited your right to any response but self-defense that is as violent as whatever you make necessary.

nazis forfeited their right to nice counter-tactics long ago, and jews know this.

thereโ€™s another reason, too, why i whooped at that video. not because someone was getting hurt โ€“ donโ€™t be dense. as i said, thatโ€™s ghoulish. we did not want to end up with our livelihood as a people so threatened that violent self-defense makes us cheer. can you think about that for a second? can you think about the kind of corner weโ€™re backed into, here? itโ€™s not a natural state of being. itโ€™s a place where most people, as far as we can tell, truly do not give a shit if we live or die, because theyโ€™re talking about โ€œtoleratingโ€ people whose ideology involves straight-up killing us. and so if we see somebody punch a nazi, itโ€™s evidence: that person in the black mask, theyโ€™re on my side.

there is one person who recognizes the nazi as a mortal threat, which means they recognize that jews are people. that people of color are people. that any of the groups threatened by nazis deserve to have their fear recognized.

and every time you, a moderate liberal, a white goy, wring your hands about a nazi getting punched, about violent tactics, about fighting hate with hate, you push us further and further into the corner where we have to cheer at that. itโ€™s sheer relief, at somebody recognizing the terror enough to punch back.

so no, we werenโ€™t born bloodthirsty, just salivating at the chance to kick a nazi in the balls. we got driven here reluctantly, by history, to a place where violence in our defense can make us weep with gratitude. you drove us here.

#antisemitism#social justice#I wasn't able to articulate why I was so thrilled by that American Hero punching Richard Spencer until this#at first I only saw people who unanimously agreed that punching a nazi is a fucking moral obligation#then I saw all the people defending nazis#and that Richard Spencer and his merry band of fucking nazis have put a BOUNTY on the guy who punched him#these people shouldn't be allowed to organize#or have any kind of dialogue whatsoever#they're a hate group#I'm scared by the direction the US is going in legitimizing nazis#by any other name THEy'RE STILL FUCKING NAZIS#I feel sick#under 100 years after the Holocaust#which I THOUGHT helped the world establish at least genocide of Jews and nazis = EVIL#and now people defend nazis as though they're just another side of a matter of opinion#murder and genocide ARE NOT OPINIONS#they've become so legitimated that people#call self-defense against themย disproportionate#their existence is violent they literally commit a violence against me and other Jews BY EXISTING#and the US is so fuckall backwards and heading to fascist hell that#these fucking white liberals white conservatives white libertarians almost all goyim#are arguing for peacefully dealing w/nazis who by default have exceeded boundaries of reason#my deepest thank you to every single hero who fights against nazis#I can't believe for a split second I saw a hero we deserve yet don't get to have#thanks goyim thanks fascists thanks nazis#I'm terrified honestly

Fandom is not your safe space.

Nor should fandom be your safe space. Fandom is for people to explore all sorts of possibilities in fiction and art. Not all of those possibilities are going to be fluffy, โ€œwholesome,โ€ โ€œhealthy,โ€ โ€œuplifting,โ€ or whatever other adjective the Morality Brigade here on Tumblr wants to trot out.

Fiction is not reality. Depiction is not endorsement. No, it may never be โ€œjust a movie/fic/artwork,โ€ but that does not make it reality. Fiction serves particular purposes, and one of them is to permit us to vicariously experience certain dangerous or otherwise unpleasant things safely.

If you believe that the purpose of fiction is to โ€œupliftโ€ us and fiction that does not is wrong and bad, congratulations: Youโ€™re a right-winger. (Or maybe youโ€™re on the extreme left. When you get that far out to the ends of the spectrum, it doesnโ€™t matter.)

If you think that anyone who writes or reads noncon is a rapist or rape apologist, you are too stupid for words. If you think that anyone who ships an incest ship or an adult/teen ship is an apologist for incest or pedophilia, you are too stupid for words.

It is none of your business what other people write, draw, and ship. Let me repeat that: It is none of your business what other people write, draw, and ship. You do not get to tell them theyโ€™re โ€œtrash,โ€ you do not get to concern-troll them with passive-aggressive nonsense like โ€œlove yourself more uwu,โ€ and you absolutely do not get to harass them off Tumblr or elsewhere.

Also, their past trauma or lack thereof is none of your business, either. Nobody has to present their โ€œcredโ€ as a rape or incest survivor before theyโ€™re allowed to enjoy fanworks that donโ€™t meet with your approval. Total strangers donโ€™t owe you their backstories. For that matter, not even your friends owe you every detail of their backstories. Mind your own business.

Donโ€™t want to see all this โ€œproblematicโ€ content on your dash or elsewhere? Unfollow people. Learn how to use Tumblr Savior, XKit, AO3 Savior, and similar tools. Control your own online experience. It is not the responsibility of others on this site to take care of you, who are a total stranger to them. Given how heavily female Tumblr skews, such demands are nothing but reinforcement of the expectation that women are supposed to take care of everyone else but themselves. (Yes, women are still oppressed as a class, even before you factor in intersectionalities.)

Itโ€™s amusing how some of you have the โ€œcourageโ€ to dogpile, harass, and stalk others on this website whose taste doesnโ€™t meet your oh-so-pure standards. People who create fanworks are soft, easy targets to kinkshame, arenโ€™t they? Especially when, again, most of them are not cis straight men. Women have been policed and shamed throughout history for exploring their own sexuality โ€” including by other feminists. The 1980s were full of feminists policing other feminists:

Often con๏ฌ‚ated with radical feminism, antiporn feminism grew out of radical feminism in the late โ€˜70s and early '80sโ€”as did its counterpart, pro-sex feminism. The feminist porn wars of the '80s are largely forgotten to the general public by now, but at the time they were heated, divisive, and intensely personal. In 1982, Barยญnard Collegeโ€™s Center for Research on Women held a conference called โ€œTowards a Politics of Sexuality,โ€ which was picketed by antiporn feminists for including explorations of s&m and overall pro-sex viewpoints along with discussions of race and sexuality as well as sexual history (many of which were published in the 1983 anthology Powers of Desire: The Politics of Sexuality).

Yes, sex-positive feminism was eventually co-opted by patriarchal forces, but it started out because a great many feminists were heartily tired of radfems telling them they were โ€œtraitorsโ€ and โ€œbrainwashedโ€ for liking anything but the blandest, most euphemistic, and most painfully egalitarian erotica. (If you like that sort of thing, more power to you. Your tastes donโ€™t make you better than the rest of us.)

Getting back to the here and now, I donโ€™t see you going over to 4chan or Reddit with these morality campaigns. More importantly, I donโ€™t see you organizing to go after big media corporations, especially those whose TV shows, movies, and books help form the toxic backdrop of misogyny, racism, rape culture, homophobia, transphobia, and similar bigotries behind everyday modern life. The occasional blogpost calling out this animator or that author, no matter how many notes it gets, is not the same thing as an organized campaign.

No, harassing David Gaider off Tumblr doesnโ€™t count, not when Bioware makes more of an effort with social justice in its games than any other game company does. You can scream all you want about how โ€œallies suck.โ€ You need them in the real world, beyond the hothouse environment of Tumblr. If people in general could be trusted to do the right thing for the right reasons all the time, without pressure, there would be no need for any kind of activism at all.

Nor does screaming โ€œpedophileโ€ at John Green and insinuating that any grown man who reaches out to teenage girls is โ€œcreepy.โ€ Yes, his โ€œcool dadโ€ act is annoying, and his books leave a lot to be desired. Have you considered that such outreach is part of his job as a YA writer? Have you also considered that stigmatizing men for trying to be mentors to adolescents, when you have no evidence that theyโ€™re actually perverts, reinforces traditional gender roles?

Tl;dr: Fandom is not your safe space. Tumblr is not your safe space. AO3 sure as fuck isnโ€™t your safe space. People will post things you donโ€™t like in all three spaces, which they have every right to do. Get over it, grow the fuck up, take responsibility for your own mental health, and stop confusing your oversized sense of entitlement with โ€œsocial justice.โ€

Anonymous asked:

Am I missing something when did Cpt America become a nazi?

Honestly, I think it happened today. I found out about it through the Twitter hashtag #SayNoToHYDRACap.ย

People there, fortunately, have put everything thatโ€™s disgusting about this Edgy Twist into words.ย

With the popularity of characters like Hux from Star Wars, I see such glee in the fetishization of nazis. I see how social justice posts about horrific antisemitism get significantly fewer reblogs from followers and tumblr as a whole. I see people downplay our identity, our history, our legacy of pushing back and surviving. Now I get to see them spit on all of that. It makes me feel cold.ย

I turned 22 today. Celebrated by going to Harajuku for really good fries (or should I say, as they do: Long Potato), crepes (heyooo, strawberries, whipped cream, and custard cream), bubble tea (passionfruit jasmine, no sugar), and then the Haikyuu!! stage play. Itโ€™s been pretty solid.
