Hello everyone!

SO, I've tried very hard to reboot my interest in this blog, unfortunately a combination of circumstances have made me reconsider.

I'm going to delete this blog in about a week or so.

I really appreciate all of your follows, reblogs and support. My heart just isn't in it anymore. (Don't worry I still love the show!)

I will be periodically moving posts to my personal if you feel like checking that out.

I will also be releasing these URLs (if you want me to wait to release them so you can have them just shoot me a message):  meatysarcasm ohbeifong flameozukos papasokka papairoh tokkachild ikki-ing earthbendingstudent aangsdaydreams effyeahbeifongs

Here are some other blogs to follow that post only/mostly ATLA & LoK!  kai-nora itoph masteraang legendofkorrafever the-avatar-cycle flawlesskorra avatati avataraang sifuaang

you never really speak your thoughts on LoK, what did you think?

okay, first I want to state that I have been really busy with school and life shite to be posting a lot of personal things as well as graphics, so I am really sorry about that.

I also ask that you please respect my opinion on this, I know the fandom is very divided, and I will try to explain myself calmly.

The main reason I haven’t posted about LoK (I’m sure this applies to others as well) is because I thought it was mediocre at best. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed watching it every week and there were some definite spectacular moments, but it just didn’t have the feel or direction that clicked with me, as atla has.

I will break it down into stuff I liked and stuff I didn’t like: Stuff I Liked:

  • Jinora’s whole spiritual journey and character arc in general. I loved seeing her grow and I thought she was amazing.
  • Tenzin and his siblings- I really really liked the idea that Aang wasn’t the perfect father. Don’t get me wrong he was probably a good father, but I can see some of the mistakes he could have made, and they addressed this in the show which I thought was important, especially for Tenzin.
  • Wan’s entire part in the series. My two favorite episodes are the ones where it explained the origin of the avatar. This was very well done in my mind (loved the style of animation for this), and I almost wish we had an entire book about him!!
  • Iroh
  • Korra’s character development. Although people might disagree with me on this one, I think Korra is fascinating as a character especially because she is such a different avatar from Aang, and I want to see further development.

Before I get into dislikes I want to say that I think the main reason for my dislike of LoK was that I thoughT ATLA was pretty much perfection, from characters to plots to themes. It was perfectly planned out and executed. I feel like LoK was too rushed, which is probably in part because they were originally supposed to only have one book. Okay so here is the list, bear with me:

  • Amon’s storyline dropoff: I really wish that they would have continued with the equalist storyline. I thought that could have turned into a great plotline but they just dropped it like it never happened just because Amon died? I think the idea would still be out there and it would still spread, so to have no one mention it again was very strange.
  • Bolin’s storyline: I really disliked where they took him in book two. Like a lot.
  • Desna and Eska: I felt like these two had so much potential and they came out very two dimensional and awkward until the ending.
  • Lack of Lin (this is just personal for me haha because I have an emotional attachment to beifongs)
  • Losing the avatar connection: For this, I understand why they did it, but it still hurts. I hope they don’t pull some bull to get it back thought because that would be worse.
  • I think everyone is with me when I say love triangle (I think it took up too much of the plot and could have been handled better)

That being said, I applaud Mike and Bryan for creating something so wonderful (in both atla and lok) and I will keep watching for book three!
