💕 Spending Valentines Day A Different Way 💕

      « Finally... » The comment was spoken more to herself than anyone else, as the woman felt the need to give words to the relief she felt over finally escaping the sight of giggling girls and pink and red hearts and flowers - everywhere, working in café on Valentinesday was no easy task. « I'm home--! » The greeting called out, with no intention of receiving an answer. Afterall, she was well aware that for him today was a normal working day - as it had been for her as well - and so it was not likely that he would have gotten home before her.

      After hanging up her coat and kickinh off her shoes by the door her feet carried her to the kitchen, where she not only dropped off the ingridients for this nights dinner - home made pizza - but also a bunch of white and light pink roses, which she had received from a groupe of regular customers of the café - it seemed they had thought it would be a good idea to each give her a rose and try their luck of inviting her out. Naturally all of them got thanked for their offer, but in the end each of them had been turned down. Afterall she already had a man she would return to at the end of the day.

      Sparing the flowers no further thoughts Layla went to change into some more comfortable cloth, constiting of a pair of sweatpants and an armless shirt that without doupt belonged to the man she was living with.

      After changing she returned to the kitchen, making quick work on preparing the pizza and getting it in the oven. It would be ready to eat once Zack returned home. Making herself tea, and picking up a bunch of DVDs that she had bought when getting the groceries, she left for the living room.

      The DVDs were films both of them had wanted to watch for a while, but had never gotten around to do it due to their working hours. Hopefully, that would change later this night. Afterall, pizza plus the DVDs and the spare blankets and pillows Layla had dragged out in the morning would make for a great movie night. « I wonder when Zack is going to get home today..? I hope the pizza won't get too cold until then. »

      SHE remained in her ( own little world ) for a few moments longer, sapphire hues SPARKLING as she continued to stare at the stuff toy of choice. She hadn’t noticed as the other girl walked closer to her, not reacting until she finally spoke to her. 

      “ e-eh? “

      Her eyes WIDENED in slight horror for a second, her gaze flickering back and forth between the stranger and the penguin. Eventually her stare settled back onto the other girl, a slight ( frown ) tugging at her lips.

      “ how come? you don’t really think they’ll sell outta ‘im that fast do you? “ 

      The panic in her voice was obvious, though she inwardly prayed that it wasn’t.

     « Uhm...well, you know... » The panic in the others voice was throwing her off a little, after all this matter was just over a stuffed toy, nothing to get up for in her mind. But each their own, Layla guessed. « He is a limited number item and...I have just bought all the ones that were left. »      Showing a small apologetic smile as she shifted the penguine in her arms a little, before deciding to give the other the reason why exactly she had done what she had done.      « They will go up as prices in a charity lottery soon. »

      “Uwaaa, so unfair!” The blonde’s nose and hands were tightly pressed against the store’s glass window, a low whine emitting from her throat. She was staring intently at a particular object, a large stuffed penguin that was nearly her own size. It was perfect, it even had its own little winter scarf– the only problem was the price. She was only a student, and there was no that her mother would be willing to buy her another stuffed animal. “…oh well, guess maybe he’ll still be here if I try an’ save up my money…?”

     « So then, it's a pleasure doing buisness with you. I hope we can work together in the future again. » It was the clerk of a toy store she was talking to at the very moment. A store which she was just leaving with a huge stuffed penguin in her arms, one of the many that would soon be delivered to her fathers company. Not even a second passed after the shop clerk had closed the door before Layla overheard a young females monolog. Feeling bad over what she just had overheard she stepped closer to the other person.

     « Uhm, I'm sorry for eavesdropping and then suddenly speaking to you but, well...I thought I should tell you that even if you save up, penguin-san won't be here for much longer. »

     At first all Ryoko got in response from Layla was muffled mumbling from under the blanket and after a moment there was stirring that made the cats napping on the bed give a protesting hiss as they were shooed away.« Told you to stay in bed with me instead of going shopping. Come… » The woman then simply patted the space under the blanket next to her, inviting Ryoko to crawl into the warmth.

     Looking over to the couch from her spot in kitchen doorway with a soft sigh spilled over her lips « Oh come on, it's just about 5 steps to get to the kitchen. You can make that much effort to get to your dinner. »There was a small shift in her stance as a fought seemed to cross her mind and with a smile Layla moved over to the SOLDIERS side, kneeling down next to him to be on eye level with him. « Or perhaps you want me to feed you? » Of course, that would most likly involve a lot of teasing.

     The manager liked to think he deserved a break. Even if it was only for a      week, not working twenty-four hours a day & instead being able to take it      a little more easy sounded like heaven. Just like nicotine sounded like hea-      ven the moment he stepped out of the coffee shop & onto the pavement.      But of course he had to be so unfortunate to be out of cigarettes altogether.      A curse left Kanata, & his first instinct was to ask the first person walking      past him.           “Do you happen to have a cigarette or two?”

     Boring. That was all the young woman had thought of this day so far. Lately all Layla had been doing was write and analyze reports about different security systems - hardly entertaining. So today she had thought a stroll through the city would bring some change, wrong. After walking for an hour nothing had happened, at all. Of course, this caused the woman to wander around is a sort of trance and that fact was what caused a rather slow reaction from her when she was suddenly spoken too.

“Ah..?” Her blue eyes trailed upwards, from the pavement to the silver haired mans face, her mind all the while processing his words. “Ah? Yeah, cigarettes. I have some with me...” A quick search through her jacket produced a half empty pack of Insignia’s “Have some. That is, if you don’t mind the brand..?”
