What I’m looking forward to in 2016 is not knowing what’s next. I’ve always planned my career a year or two in advance, and I refused to do that this time. 1989 was such a huge chapter in my life and career, and it’s an exciting thought to let the story write itself now for a while.

Taylor on what she’s looking forward to in 2016 (x)

Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ Hits 5 Million in U.S. Sales, Making It the Fastest-Selling Album In Over 10 Years
Taylor Swift’s mega-selling 1989 album continues to be unstoppable. The set has now surpassed 5 million in U.S. sales, according to Nielsen Music, making it the fastest seller to reach that plateau in more than 10 years.
1989 crossed the 5 million mark in the week ending July 5, with another 26,000 sold (its total now stands at 5.015 million). The album reaches the milestone in only its 36th week of release – the speediest climb to 5 million since the week ending Aug. 1, 2004, when Usher’s Confessions hit 5 million in only its 19th week on sale.
1989 is Swift’s third album to sell 5 million copies, following Fearless (released in 2008) and her self-titled debut (released in 2006). They’ve sold 6.95 million and 5.52 million, respectively, to-date.

GET INVOLVED IN THE ONE YEAR OF ‘89 PROJECT!

So I know this is wayyyyyy early but we are gonna start spreading the word now! October 27th 2014 was a good day for us Swifties and we wanna celebrate the one year anniversary release of 1989 with a fan video.

Here’s what we need YOU to do:

  1. Send a photo of a moment that has happened to you in the last year. Whether it be you holding the 1989 album, wearing Taylor merch, you at a 1989 world tour concert, or if your date isn’t gonna be before the deadline maybe just you in your costume (maybe hold a sign with your tour date??)! or if you are blessed enough with TAYLOR or someone on tour etc. Basically anything that you feel would best represent you in the 1989 era!
  2. Email your submission to oneyearof89project@yahoo.com.
  3. Please make sure you include your URL in the email because we want to give credit to where it is due. All URL’s will be at the end of the video.
  4. You can also send in something to be a part of the background music! Either:
  • A cover of a 1989 song, please make it a compete song so we don’t here multiple covers of the same part of a song over and over again (I will probably section out roughly 15 seconds of each cover depending on how many people submit.) even if you don’t think you can sing belt it out! We’re not going to deny anyone of submitting a song!
  • A 6-10 second a audio clip of you saying something to Taylor, as long as it’s appropriate it will make the video!

**PLEASE NOTE: If you wanna send multiple pictures, please put them in a four set collage max because depending on how many take part, your picture may not have more than 5-7 seconds seconds on the screen! We’re willing to make multiple videos if necessary!

  • DEADLINE to send in things is October 20th! If you are going to a concert the 21st or 24th we will accept PHOTOS ONLY from your night NO LATER than the 25th! Let us know ahead of time please.
  • THE VIDEO WILL BE RELEASED ON OCTOBER 27TH, hence the title. ;)

Help us spread the world reblog the hell out of this!!! We want to involve as many of you as possible! We are really excited about this and can’t wait to see the end result! :)

This is the official blog for the project but you can also send a message to any of us if you have questions!

Party like it’s 1989,

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT AND READ
