FREE DL: Party Lines - Party Lines EP

Rad Summer is tremendously excited to present the self-titled debut release from indie pop band Party Lines as a free download!

In 2 months with just one video and a handful of live shows, Fountain Square based indie pop band Party Lines has taken the central Indiana music scene by storm, and they're ready to continue that ramp up with the launch of their first release on Rad Summer.  Party Lines's self-titled EP is a killer blend of funk, synth pop, and electro house that compels the listener to shuffle their feet and sing along to the lyrics of lead singer Jerred Lowe.  Party Lines open their project with the upbeat rockers "Higher Ground" and "Hot to the Touch", transition with "Crossfire", and then let the project cool off with the sexy ballad "Half a Heart' and chiller jam session of "Moonglow".  If this project is any indicator of what we can expect from Party Lines in the future, the world has a new set of rockstars on their hands.

Party Lines is a dance rock band based out of Fountain Square in Indianapolis that falls somewhere on the sonic spectrum between Jamiroquai and Chromeo. Started as a duo between front man Jerred Lowe and producer Aaron Hogan, the band now includes up to 9 members for performances including Jerred on guitar and vocals, Aaron on guitar, David Coriaty on keyboards, Justin Madwell on bass, and Adam Mattox on drums; Party Lines frequently includes the horn section from ska legends Johnny Socko as well.

RS016: Oreo Jones’s Betty is now available!

Rad Summer is extremely proud to release Betty, the debut LP from Oreo Jones, as a free download and purchasable digital deluxe edition and CD!

The past year has been a year of growth for Oreo Jones, and the Indianapolis based emcee has documented it in his first full length release Betty. Evolving from the party monster that everyone has come to love on tracks like “Good Times”, “Cordon Bleu”, and “Reggie Miller”, this album finds Oreo delving deeper into his own identity and story with songs like “House Nigga”, “Frankie”, and “Rotate”. Despite the introspection, Betty is still replete with bangers such as “No Coast” ft. J-hex and “Needy” ft. Freddie Bunz. Betty is a testament of Oreo maturing from a local rapper into a gifted song writer and emcee.  All of the tracks on the album were produced by 90 Lbs except “Frankie”, “Needy”, and “Rand Savage” were produced by J. Brookinz, “Golden Age” was produced by Dorsh, and “Burnt Circle” was produced by Oreo Jones.  You can download the album for free, cop the deluxe edition at all fine digital retailers, or grab the CD at Oreo’s release party on September 7th at White Rabbit Cabaret in Indianapolis!

The past few years have been extremely busy for Indianapolis emcee Oreo Jones. In the past year, OJ has orchestrated an indie rock collab EP, dropped his highly successful single and video “Cordon Bleu”, collaborated with Action Jackson on their smash Black Fabio mixtape, performed at several of the best indie shows in Nap, and most recently was voted the #1 hip-hop act in Indianapolis by Nuvo News. With his debut album Betty set to release September 4th via Rad Summer, Oreo has several music videos, singles, and events planned for the next few months!

RS015: K. Sabroso’s Babina Numa EP is in stores now!

With release of K. Sabroso’s Babina Numa EP that includes remixes of Senor Oz, Caballo, and Jairo Mendez, Rad Summer deepens our exploration of tropical bass music

Continuing Rad Summer’s  end of summer blitz, our fifteenth release finds us tapping Latin funk producer K. Sabroso to give us a deeper understanding of tropical bass music.  K. Sabroso’s original mix of “Babina Numa” is a 108 BPM banger that follows many of the conventions of moombahton but adds its own twist on the drums and a persistent vocal chant.  The rest of the EP is rounded out with remixes from Jairo Mendez and Senor Oz that maintain the 108 BPM and a  remix by Caballo that jumps the tempo into 140 BPM territory.  For anyone looking for auditory vacation to a remote beach party, K. Sabroso is ready to take you there.

Ay Que Rico! Que Sabroso! Sutiweyu Sandoval began his musical journey on the dance floor, studying the science of beats and breaks while earning his stripes as a b-boy. In 2009 Sandoval decided to focus his attention on music, both as a DJ and producer. Looking to his Central American heritage, Sandoval reinvented himself as K. Sabroso, developing a music style based on hip-hop breakbeats while incorporating textures from Latin American music traditions. The end result is a brand of latin funk entirely his own, and is making the rounds on dance floors worldwide. K. Sabroso has an aresenal of singles and remixes coming out soon and an artist album just around the corner, estan listos?

RS014: Filthy Disco's new Dubplate Pressure EP is out now!

Filthy Disco's 2 track Dubplate Pressure release is a massive bass music release with the moombahcore smasher "Dubplate" on one side and the epic trap anthem "Pressure" on the flip.

Rad Summer has tapped Colorado's Filthy Disco for the label's 14th official release.  We first became acquainted with the production prowess of Filthy Disco with his remix of "Moombrah" on Lemi Vice and Knife Fight's Knife Vice Moombahton EP Remixes, and we immediately knew that we had to have an official release from him.  Quite simply, the kid is a beast.  For those that loved his remix of "Moombrah", you will become completely obsessed with the bounce and movement of "Dubplate".  "Pressure" is the young producers take on the trap craze that has taken EDM by storm with snappy 808 snares that would normally beg for a trill verse.  This might be the first release for Filthy Disco on Rad Summer, but it definitely won't be his last!

Despite Connor Corcoran aka Filthy Disco recently emerging on the EDM scene, the young Boulder, CO based DJ/producer has quickly established himself as a must hear artist. Reflecting his performance name, Filthy Disco’s productions are known for their sub heavy bass frequencies, groovy drum patterns, and complex synthesizer design; his live performances are as equally intense, packing the dance floor from beginning to end.

Specializing in genre bending mixes that span multiple styles of music, he is equally comfortable spinning hip-hop, house, dubstep, moombahton, indie rock, and everything in between. His productions are diverse as well, having remixed artists such as Passion Pit, Hall and Oates, and Smokey Robinson. 2011 found Action linking with emcee Oreo Jones for their collaboration “Black Fabio”, a parody of the famous model from the 80′s. In short, there’s not a crowd or party that he can’t rock including large festivals such as Forecastle, Identity Festival, and The Indianapolis 500, the largest single day sporting event in the world.

Party Lines - Hot to the Touch (Official Music Video)

On the heels of the success of their debut single “Hot to the Touch”, Party Lines presents to the world their self-directed music video!

It has been less than a month since Indianapolis based band Party Lines launched their first single “Hot to the Touch” and live performance at the Rad Summer anniversary party, and the band has already develop a strong following and busy show schedule. Capitalizing on that buzz, Party Lines are premiering their self-directed video for “Hot to the Touch”. The music video is first episode in a series of visuals recreating frontman Jerred Lowe’s REM state dreams. Between the hovercraft chase and campy super villains, it would appear that Jarred would be a special agent if he weren’t the face of Party Lines.

Party Lines is a dance rock band based out of Ftn Square in Indianapolis that falls somewhere on the sonic spectrum between Jamiroquai and Chromeo. Started as a duo between front man Jerred Lowe and producer Aaron Hogan, the band now includes up to 9 members for performances including Jerred on guitar and vocals, Aaron on guitar, David Coriaty on keyboards, Justin Madwell on bass, Taylor Lowe on percussion, and Adam Mattox on drums; Party Lines frequently includes the horn section from ska legends Johnny Socko as well. Their EP is set to release via Rad Summer in September!

Oreo Jones connects with Indy PBR, Freddie Bunz, and Digital Rabbit Productions to launch the first music video from his debut album Betty!

Oreo Jones is kicking off the promotional push for his upcoming album Betty with a music video directed by frequent collaborators Digital Rabbit Productions for his single "Needy".  "Needy" is a bassy banger about the desire of an artist to make it that features a hook from emcee Freddie Bunz and production care of J. Brookinz.  Indy PBR made the video possible by sponsoring a small in-store event so Oreo could shoot this intimate performance video.  OJ's new single is just a tease of why everyone needs to cop his album when it drops in early September!

RS013: Dorsh's Neopolitan (Deluxe Edition) is out now!

Neopolitan (Deluxe Edition), the debut album from Dorsh in stores now!

Neopolitan is much like the ice cream it is named after. It’ s a mixture of Reggae, Electro, Disco, Soul, Hip-Hop, Rock, Dubstep, and R&B, flavors all blended into one creamy collection. When Dorsh Deans sat down to conceptualize the Neopolitan album, Dorsh realized with his given “Jaminglican” (Jamaican, English, and American) heritage, that he was in a unique position to represent a significantly large group of people authentically. Having spent his entire life as a soccer player in the U.S. and abroad, he wanted the album to mirror the workings of the World Cup, and its function to bring people together from all parts of the globe. Soccer exposed Dorsh to many cultures and he felt it was only appropriate that he share my experiences through another universal language, music.

Dorsh made Neopolitan to show people that it is ok to be yourself, to celebrate differences, and to embrace more than ONE kind of music! People learn the best through music, and Neopolitan presents a new way to grasp the concept of a “diverse” album and artist.

In the past year, Dorsh has been featured on several top music blogs and radio shows domestically and Internationally. On February 24, 2012 his debut single "Je t'aime", from the Neopolitan LP, premiered at #10 on Hypem's popular music charts. Amidst performing with a wide range of artists from LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad to Talib Kweli, Dorsh has done remix work for FADERLABEL in NYC, engineered for Ska Rebirth in Kingston, and mastered for Asahi Brewery in Tokyo. Successfully earning his stripes in the as an engineer/producer, Dorsh is now ready to transition from behind the board to behind the mic with his debut LP Neopolitan for Rad Summer!

WORLD PREMIERE: Lemi Vice x Knife Fight – Gorilla Revolution (Video)

Lemi Vice and Knife Fight collaborate with director Colin Boyll for the visuals to “Gorilla Revolution”!

In March, Rad Summer released the Knife Vice Moombahton EP by Lemi Vice and Knife Fight to much fanfare.  Since the original release, Lemi Vice and Knife Fight have been working on their follow up, curated a 6 track remix EP, and have been collaborating with film director Colin Boyll on the visuals for their lead single “Gorilla Revolution”.  The pairing of Colin’s love of stop-motion-animation and the raucous sounds  of “Gorilla Revolution” has yielded a primal yet flavorful music video.  Watch for Knife Vice’s follow up to hit retailers before the end of the year!

Lemi Vice Over the past decade, Lemi Vice has established himself as respected musician throughout the Midwest. Never one to settle into a single style of music, Lemi instead chooses to draw from his experiences of “long nights in dark clubs, and the science fiction movies” of his youth. This allows the young producer to transition between nearly every genre and progression in bass music. In the past 3 years that Lemi has been DJing publicly, he has performed alongside the likes of Figure, Zebo, Dethface, Flufftronix, Charlie Glitch, Maddjazz, and many others. For bass junkies around the world, Lemi is their new vice. http://soundcloud.com/lemivice

Knife Fight Ephraim Cuellar aka Knife Fight has been carving his way through the Chicago night life scene since 2009 with sharp free form sets that include everything from the tropical sounds of Latin house and moombahton to heavy bass and hip-hop. In that sliver of time, Knife Fight has shared bills at Wicker Park Fest 2011, Green Music Fest, Beauty Bar (Chicago), The Mid, Berlin, Congress Theater, Debonair Social Club, Le Pasage, Funk, and Cobra Lounge with the likes of Will Eastman, Huoratron, Willy Joy, Rob Threezy, Charlie Glitch, Jack Beats, and LOL Boys. The young producer/DJ currently holds down a weekly residency at Evil Olive titled Wasted Bass. Knife Fight’s debut release will be a collaboration EP with Lemi Vice that is set to drop via Rad Summer in early March 2012. http://soundcloud.com/knifefightwb

NEW ARTIST: Party Lines – Hot to the Touch

Rad Summer’s most recent signing, dance rock band, Party Lines makes their debut with the infectious single “Hot to the Touch” and a live performance at the Rad Summer Records 1 Year Anniversary!

Most men have a memory of a woman that was alluring yet obviously too dangerous to hold for fear of being burned.  On “Hot to the Touch”, the debut single from Party Lines, songwriter Jarred Lowe spins his version of that ubiquitous memory.  Jerred’s lyrics are perfectly complimented by the indie dance with significant amounts of 80s groove production of Aaron Hogan.  If “Hot to the Touch” is any indication of what Party Lines has to come, their EP is going to be fuego!

Party Lines is a dance rock band based out of Ftn Square in Indianapolis that falls somewhere on the sonic spectrum between Jamariquai and Chromeo. Started as a duo between front man Jerred Lowe and producer Aaron Hogan, the band now includes up to 9 members for performances including Jerred on guitar and vocals, Aaron on guitar, David Coriaty on keyboards, Justin Madwell on bass, Taylor Lowe on percussion, and Adam Mattox on drums; Party Lines frequently includes the horn section from ska leged Johnny Socko as well.  Their EP is set to release via Rad Summer in August!

WORLD PREMIERE: Black Fabio – Reggie Miller ft. Toni Royale (Video)

Mike Charizopoulos of Digital Rabbit Productions brings to life Black Fabio’s anthem “Reggie Miller”!

For the second video from their Black Fabio mixtape, Oreo Jones and Action Jackson ditch the wigs and opt a trippy take on daily life in Indianapolis. Since the song’s original release, “Reggie Miller” has become an Indianapolis anthem that incites chanting of the legendary Pacer’s name upon play, so it was a must that Digital Rabbit Productions flipped it into a fun music video. “Reggie Miller” also features the rap debut of the beautiful Toni Roayle. To be quite honest, this video really has it all: chicks, ducks, and chest hair. What more could you want?

When Oreo Jones debuted his Halloween 2010 costume Black Fabio, no one expected it to spawn a concept mixtape that keeps you dancing and laughing front to back. Nine months later and with the help of Action Jackson, that is exactly what’s been created. Just as Fabio was never constrained by wearing a shirt, OJ and Jackson chose not to be encumbered by genre and drew from anything including rap to post-punk to moombahton. The “Black Fabio” mixtape is an unique collection of 14 tracks that tell the saga of the titular character. Starting with the title track and moving forward through “Niagara Falls”, Oreo and Action prove why they are two of the most creative emerging artists. “Black Fabio” the mixtape is available for FREE DOWNLOAD or STREAM now!
