PSA for Parents

If your kid is complaining about pain, listen.

If your kid consistently complains about pain in the same areas, listen, and take them to a doctor.

If the doctor ignores it, take them to a better doctor.

Listen to your kids, they know more about what is happening in their bodies than you do.

Seriously please do this. My sister starting having digestive problems and kept getting hairline fractures in her bones even though her calcium count was through the roof. It all began when she was 8 and my parents kept bring her to doctors and they kept says nothing was wrong because she was an athlete and played sports fractures were bound to happen. The stomach aches? Anxiety (she saw a therapist to try to deal with this). They didn’t take my parents or her seriously. It wasn’t till she was nearly 17 years old that they found out she had celiac disease. Her upset stomach wasn’t from anxiety but an inflamed small intestine. Her hairline fractures weren’t sports related but caused by malabsorption, meaning that her bones weren’t getting the calcium they needed. Oh yeah and if untreated it could cause cancer. So please please please listen to your kids and if the doctors don’t listen find them new ones. Even with numerous consultations it took nearly a decade to find out what was wrong with my sister.

Honestly, Rick Rolling is the best practical joke ever. Like, there’s nothing offensive or mean  spirited about it. It’s just like “Oops you thought there would be something else here but it’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’.” which isn’t even a bad song. It’s fairly enjoyable to listen to. There’s no jumpscares, no screaming, no ill will. Just Rick Astley telling you he’s never going to give you up. I think that’s great. “You fell into my trap! Here, listen to this completely benign song that will have no negative effect on you.”
