"I could be really brash and really loud and really dressed however I wanted to and almost made [Chappell] on purpose a drag version of myself so I can be whatever I want. It allows me to feel really safe exploring those aspects of myself. I’d never be able to do that if I took myself super seriously with pop. I think that the project has allowed me to be a part of the queer community in a deeper way because I'm not observing from the outside anymore. I feel like I'm in it. I am the queer community–it's allowed me to just feel queer, feel like a queer person and feel freedom in that."

last night i went out and met up with some friends and when i was walking through the crowd to find them, the first person i saw was this go-go boy i know from going to drag shows and even though he was fully standing on the bar shaking his ass he stopped, crouched down & said to me “what do i owe the pleasure of seeing you outside of [venue i’m always at]?” and god it was so funny

hi this is perhaps a silly question... but how do you go about finding roommates?? my friends already have roommates do I like look online??

to be honest, i'm not sure if i'm the one to ask bc i've been lucky enough to not have to seek out roommates myself, really ever. for the last ~3 years i've been living with one of my college best friends and someone who was in the same grad school program as her. my college friend found her in a facebook housing group for their grad program, did a quick facetime to see if we would all get along, and that was about it! as annoying as it is, i would probably suggest looking into facebook groups in your area, i think that's how a lot of people find roommates!

americans love to eat a meal alone in a parked car

I do that on road trips. I’m Canadian you’re not special/endearing

canadians do this "on road trips"..? okay. americans will order dinner from a sit-down restaurant--waiting solemnly for it to be brought to their table--then immediately scoop it into a tupperware they brought from home and head to the car to eat it in a parking lot with the doors locked. this isn't a game. this isnt some fun once-in-a-while roadtrip event to us. this is our culture.
