FAVORITES OF 2015 ★ TV SHOWS [2/5] ↳ jessica jones; they say everyone’s born a hero, but if you let it, life will push you over the line until you’re the villain. problem is, you don’t always know that you’ve crossed that line. maybe it’s enough that the world thinks i’m a hero.

I am not good. I am not virtuous. I am not sympathetic. I am not generous. I am merely and above all a creature of intense passionate feeling. I feel—everything. It is my genius. It burns me like fire.

Part of me likes the word “determined.” Part of me feels uncomfortable when I hear it. I feel very aware that I’ve had to be tough to get to where I am. I’ve been trying to do good work in a language that isn’t my own. I guess that does make me determined, but it’s in my nature to want to do the best that I can. It also makes me feel safe, in a funny way, if I’m working hard. Less lonely, somehow.
