Primo Moralem In Filiam

@primomoraleminfiliam / primomoraleminfiliam.tumblr.com

My name is Asariel Airlia Mikaelson and I was born in Mystic Falls over a thousand years ago. My father, Elijah, raised me with the help of my aunt, Rebekah, and occasional help from my uncles, Finn, Niklaus, and Kol. I have traveled the world, both with and without my family, and now I have returned to the one city where we were always a family. I was born human, turned into an original vampire with the wolf gene hidden deep in my blood until I slaughtered a village on accident and became a hybrid like my uncle Niklaus. I was blessed with witchcraft as well although I do not make use of it unless there is need.

He stood silently at the door a moment, watching. The blonde was sitting indecisively at the mirror, tugging and pulling at her hair, trying to get the silky tendrils to conform to her will. There was a small smile on the boy's face as he saw her frustration grow. The girl had never really been satisfied with herself, which was silly to him. She was beautiful.

Finally, he lifted a knuckle to the door. "Knock knock," Jeremy mimicked with a grin. The sound startled the girl as she looked up in the mirror to catch the sight of his face. An embarrassed expression spread over her cheeks. "You decent?"

"No," she sighed. "Are you kidding? My hair is not cooperating.." Her eyes returned to her own image in the reflective glass and scowled, as if the scolding look would somehow fix her crisis.

"Jeremy Gilbert, you'd like that, wouldn't you?"

"I'm just saying! These parties are always boring! And when they're not boring, it's cause someone's dead." His words did little to sway her annoyance. "Come on, Asa. I said I'd go with you and I will! Can't blame a guy for trying. Your hair looks lovely," he chuckled sheepishly, leaning down to kiss the top of her head.

Asa shook her head, looking back to the mirror. She resumed playing with her hair, a pout on her lips. "Why did you agree to go in the first place if you really hate parties that much?"

When she asked that, his eyes crinkled. Removing his hands from her shoulders, Jeremy stepped back and around the chair, moving to lean against the dressing table. He tilted his head as his eyes searched her face. "Why? Because you rescued me from that Christmas party all those years ago. One of the few happy memories of my childhood."

Asa glanced up at him in shock, a smile now beginning on her own face, matching his. "You remember that?" She watched as a hand stretched out in her direction.

"How could I forget?"

So I come on to find that my profile image has been TAKEN DOWN for some reason. Your algorithm sucks.

There is nothing overly adult about the following image.

So please explain to me why I can’t use it.

Thanks!

Beautiful Girl

“Of course she’d make sure that we couldn’t do that… She’d have to move you to a different body as well…” Asariel sighed as she let her head fall back against the back of the couch. “Nothing can ever be simple with her and that’s the cold hard truth of it all.”
She wanted to have a happy family life… She’d dreamed of it for years since her mother’s death and growing up with her father’s family. Mikael was always quick to temper, even with her at times… She’d always hated her life with her grandparents, wishing for nothing more than to be with her mother and father elsewhere.
“You can never know what she wants from you or what she wants to do to anyone. She’s cold and calculating…. She’s the reason we are what we are but she can’t take the blame for it all. She blames us for the murderers we became… when she’s the one who created the spell to make us what we are.” Asariel wanted to be the one to rip Esther’s heart out… But she knew she couldn’t until her mother was safe.

Avonia sighed, listening to Asariel talk about Esther.  The things that she had done, Avonia had no idea about.  She suspected, but hadn’t asked her.  But everything that Asariel was saying, she was going to ask Esther about later.  If it got her killed, it would take Esther with her, and her family would be safe.  That’s all she wanted in the world.  Was to keep her family safe and alive, and out of the clutches of her mother - in - law.

She let out a breath, looking at her daughter.  Her hand reaching for hers, and squeezing it lightly.  “I am sorry.”  She never meant for any of this to happen.  Her being back, was supposed to be a good thing, not a thing that caused people such pain.  She hated this, and she hated Esther, more than before.

“She sounded so sincere.  Almost enough for me to believe her.  But I learned a long time ago, that what Esther said, was to be taken with a grain of salt.  I never trusted her, and I was right not to.”

Asariel stood and began to pace the room, unsure if she should continue with the discussion. It wasn’t like her to just... Okay, it was slightly like her to just jump head first into a situation without thinking about the consequences if it was something such as it was now. Her mother was being controlled by woman who wished to see her family killed, or at the very least unhappy in their lives again.

She would prefer to strangle Esther with her bare hands, but that wasn’t a possibility this time. “You ha no idea,” Asariel finally said as she felt herself finally calm down enough to speak without anger filling her voice. It wasn’t directed towards her mother, but Esther.

“She has that talent, to make you believe she’s sincere about what she wants. She wanted me to give up being a witch so I could be placed in the body of a werewolf. I quite like my life and the body I’m in. Anything else wouldn’t be me.” Asariel confessed. She still remembered how her father had spoken of Esther’s plans for him as well. “She wants to see us all unhappy because she was never happy.”

Auntie Bex Time

Asariel was somewhat glad she’d let her aunt talk her into allow her very capable father to look after Hazel for the day while the two of them spent some quality time together. It had been centuries since seeing her aunt, the last time having been Chicago before Mikael had appeared and Klaus had daggered her. She still hated him for that. why not let them all be happy for once instead of miserable by his side?

But for the moment, Nik was off doing something or other to protect his unborn child, so they were free to roam the city together and do a little bit of shopping. “You know, it’s been forever since we’ve done this.” She offhandedly mentioned as she looked through a rack in the small boutique they were in. “Like literally almost forever.” The last memory similar was on the streets of Paris and they’d been shopping much differently then.

Asariel tugged Hazel under the covers again. “We don’t have to pack.” She mumbled as she held her daughter tightly to her again. “I already have our things in the car and ready to go.“ She’d packed while Hazel had been at school the previous day, just so she wouldn’t have to worry about it. Plus, Hazel had a habit of wanting to pack everything.
“We’ll leave in a while, Hazel. Our flight isn’t until later this afternoon.” She said quietly, pressing soft kisses into Hazel’s hair. “So until then, we’re going to sleep a little more then we’ll get ready to go to the airport.”
She didn’t mind Hazel’s energy most of the time, but it was a weekend. They were supposed to be sleeping in. Plus it didn’t help that she was extremely nervous about introducing the rest of the family to Hazel, even though Elijah had already met her.

Hazel giggled as her mommy pulled her back under the covers. “You packed already? Then we can leave any time now!” Then her mommy told her that there flight wasn’t until later in the afternoon.

“I don’t think I can sleep now I’m to excited!” She giggled as her mommy gave her hair kisses. “But if you’re still tired I’ll try and sleep!” She snuggled up closer to her mommy and shut her eyes. She couldn’t sleep though because all she could think about was seeing Uncle Elijah and meeting the rest of her family. Like Hope, who was around her age. She couldn’t wait to meet her!

Suddenly Hazel was hanging out with Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy at the cafeteria in Canterlot High School. She was a giggling about a funny joke Rainbow Dash had told.

And then suddenly Hazel was back in bed next to her mommy. She had been dreaming.

She remembered what today was and excitedly looked at the clock. She couldn’t believe she had actually fallen asleep! She gave her mommy’s shoulder a gentle nudge.

“Mommy I think we can get up now!” She said excitedly.

Asariel stretched, a few joints popping as she did. She adored Hazel deeply and was glad to finally be reuniting their family in New Orleans, though she worried about the dream she’d had while they’d drifted back off. Granted, it wasn’t the first bad dream she’d had about New Orleans, but this one had seemed darker. Mostly as if it would be the end of something... She hadn’t been able to see that much in her dream. Slowly she sat up, watching as Hazel bounced excitedly on the bed. She couldn’t help but smile, shaking off the small worry she held.

“Yes, we can. Go get changed into the outfit I laid out for you last night.” She looked at the clock, glad that they’d slept until closer to time. “I need to call Auntie Bex and let her know what time our flight is getting in so she can pick us up.”

She slid from the bed, quickly picking up the clothes she’d left strewn on the floor the night before. All of their things would be following them to New Orleans soon after, but for the moment they were good on what Asariel had already had sent ahead.

“Go, sweetie! We have to be at the airport soon!” She smiled, Hazel’s excitement rubbing off on her.

It was as if he believed she didn’t know, but she always did. That’s why she had been able to avoid him for so many centuries after leaving her father and the rest of them. A group of them together was far easy to track than a single hybrid moving along the European country side. But now that she was back with her father and the rest… Well she’d suspected he’d find her eventually. “Mikael.” He’d lost all respect from her the moment he had begun hunting them all, especially when she’d been nothing but a young child. She’d hardly ever referred to him as grandfather ever since.

“You aren’t going to turn and look at me?”  He let out a breath, watching her.  Instead, he moved around her, to face her.  His eyes never leaving her.  “You look like your mother.”  A small compliment he knew, but it was the truth.  Thank goodness.  Avonia was a beautiful woman, and Elijah had done well with her.  “Did you miss me, child?”

She stared at him, her eyes cold. “I think you would know the answer to that by now. I’ve spent centuries without you hunting me down, finding me... And now that I’ve returned to them you decide to show your face. I’m not surprised.” Asariel was far from it. She’d expected him to make an appearance. “Why do you seek me out now? Of all times?” Was it really about her? No, not really. He was there to end them all. But he’d yet to succeed because if there was one thing that brought them together, it was the threat of someone hurting their family... Even if it was their own family doing so.

The Truth, The Whole Truth, and Nothing But

Asariel watched him, waiting for the words that would seem to try to calm her anger. It was always how he dealt with things. Calm the anger first then explain. But now she was surprised as he began explaining himself. She had never truly seen him hurt as much as speaking of her mother’s death. She’d never heard the true story before, even her mother hadn’t fully explained when she had spoken of it.
“So he killed her because he believed that… That she had bewitched you into loving her.” Asariel wanted to scream, wanted to go after Niklaus. She couldn’t though. “And you left with Tatia because of it.. To protect me… To protect us… Then why did you go back? Why?
“There couldn’t have been any reason as to return to them. I love that we’ve had a thousand years together, Papa…. But nothing could have brought me back to them to be honest… I only came back because of you. I was worried about you and I wanted you to meet Hazel.”
She went to her father, sitting down next to him to rest her head on his shoulder. “He doesn’t deserve your loyalty, Papa…. He killed mama. He doesn’t deserve to have you protecting him.”

He was the calming part of her life, and while he knew that she was waiting for him to calm her, there was a part of him that wanted her angry with Niklaus.  Maybe it was because he was, even now.  A thousand plus years later, and he was still angry with him about Avonia.  And now that she was back, it made no difference.  He was still angry with him.

He nodded at her, taking in a deep breath.  As she moved next to him, he kissed the top of her head lightly, before letting out a breath.  Her questions one that he asked himself all the time.  “Rebekah.”  His answer was a simple one though.  “Your aunt, needed me.  Niklaus had daggered her, and she needed me to help her leave.”  Not that it did any good.  She, like himself, always went back to Niklaus.

He sighed, nodding a little at her.  “Your uncle and I, have a complicated relationship.  I’m not sure that loyalty is the right word for it though.”  He stopped, thinking for a long moment.  “I think it is more that I do not want him to do to another, as he did to your mother.”

She sat for a moment, contemplating Elijah’s words. Rebekah seemed to be the only common cord they both held. Her aunt had basically helped raise her as well, bringing some sort of normalcy to her childhood. Hell, she’d been the one to encourage her to leave them at some points in her life - to experience the world without Niklaus trying to lord his “Always and Forever” crap over her.

“He would do it even if you were here. He’d kill Hayley in a heartbeat, Papa, if that meant he could keep Hope to himself.” She spoke the truth, even if the hoped that on some level Niklaus wouldn’t kill the mother of his own child. “We could leave. Defeat Esther, pack our things, and leave. New Orleans hasn’t been home for any of us since. We can take mother with us and all live the life that we should have.”

Her pleas would be useless to some degree, but she had hope. They deserved a life that wasn’t plagued by Niklaus constantly. “You deserve to have mother back, Papa.. and to have the life that he robbed from both of you.”

“No you’re not… But I’m not just a hybrid… I’m a tri-hybrid, dear… Witch, werewolf, and vampire.” She smiled, eyes flashing for a moment between gold and emerald.  “So yes, I’m one of your kind… And my family is the originators of the vampire species. “

Her head tilted at her words, taking them in for the longest time.  “You’re a witch too.  Awesome.”  She let out a breath, her gaze falling to the body behind them.  “Did they taste good?”

“I guess you could say that.” Asariel said shrugging as she moved past the woman. “They very rarely taste good anymore... It’s sadly a necessity.
