Lotta people on tumblr are progressive until you bring up drugs. Then they turn into authoritarian fucking nightmares who Ronald Reagan would adore.

If your progressive values disappear the second a human being does drugs, you aren't as progressive as you fucking think.

opinion: drugs are bad but it shouldn't be a crime to take them but rather to distribute them (illegally), also the state shouldn't profit off of drugs (looking at you alcohol and cigarettes)

Also if there's some medication from that drug it's okay for pharmacy and stuff to sell

Prison is a horrific, torturous system designed to brutalize people. You can't flippantly say "it should be a crime--" without considering the cost in human lives and the brutality of the prison industrial complex.

Drugs are morally neutral. People are allowed to do whatever they want to their own bodies. Locking up people for drug charges does nothing but brutalize people, especially PoC. The "War on Drugs" is a transparent war on the marginalized and it's not like that's ever been a secret.

People who do drugs are not the fucking problem.
