Hi everyone! Just to let you know (even though you can probably already tell) I won’t be updating much on here anymore, so if you still want to follow my art, here’s where else you can find me!

Thankyou as always for the support! I’ll pop on here every now and then to answer messages, but I’ll be most active on Twitter and Instagram

Hi! I wanna ask how did you found your art style and how can you maintain it?

Hello! I think the answer to that is really different with everyone you ask, and honestly I kind of gave up trying to ‘find my style’ a couple of years ago, and then I guess.. I found it? I think the key is to just keep drawing, draw what inspires you, look at artists you at admire, and see what about their work inspires you. Obviously don’t copy them, but if you like elements of their style then incorporate it into your own! Over time your style will develop on it’s own anyway when you work out what feels comfortable and natural for you. If I’m honest I don’t feel like I have a defining style and I like to work in a few different style because that’s what I enjoy - so don’t let the pressure of finding a style get to you! :)

ahh thank u, i shall keep my eye out for it! i follow you on both yt and ig :D will it be a time lapse video?

Thankyou so much! I’m hoping to do a voiceover tutorial and have a mixture of real-time clips and time lapse ones, although the time lapse clips wouldn’t be too sped up, so you can see what’s going on a bit better! :)

Hii i was just wondering what software/apps you use when drawing digitally?? I've never done digital art before, only traditional art on paper, and I'd like to try, so could you recommend me some apps?

Hey! I use a Wacom Bamboo tablet (had it years, was the cheapest I could find at the time and still does the job!) and Photoshop :)I used to use ArtRage (it came free with my tablet, and I feel like it came free on my Samsung tablet as well), and there are several apps you can get for free if you have an iPad/other tablet! You can buy stylus’s to draw on those too so you’re not just using your fingers.I’ve also heard good things about Krita, Corel Painter and Clipstudio, though I’ve never used them myself!

sometimes i feel like i might be getting somewhere then much later on i think the art that i do is absolutely crap, doesn't matter what it is that i'm doing or using it turns out horrible at the end or i get stuck half way through and give up because i don't have the right materials to use for them

Firstly, everyone - literally all artists - have days like that. The good thing is, when you’re learning and doing art for fun, it doesn’t matter so much and it’s positive because it means you’re recognising ‘mistakes’, and already learning from them. Secondly, there’s no such thing as right materials, so try not to get too stressed about having to buy more expensive equipment! I only invested in some better paper a few years ago, and whilst it has made a big difference, I learned on scrappy printer paper by just practicing (I know it’s frustrating to hear that, I thought it was too).

Please try not to get yourself down about your art - if it’s your hobby and you enjoy doing it, just do it when you really feel like you want to, and don’t put too much pressure on yourself to make something really great or even to finish something

one last thing: for drawing different heights do you always start of with making a figure something like 7/8 heads tall? if so how would you draw someone who was the same age as the first person you drew but much smaller in comparison, do you just use say 5/6/6 and a half heads tall? but in other news i think i'm finally feel like i'm getting the hang of drawing heads both manga/semi-realistic, i'm doing it step by step then putting it together, i feel a bit daft that its taken me this long...

Again, I’m gonna be unhelpful and say I literally just draw it as I see it, sorry! I’ve never really tried working proportions out like that, not for any reason in particular, I just never tried it!

That’s good though! Not daft at all, everyone learns at different speeds and you never stop learning anyway :)

sorry to be like flooding your asks recently, i just have a lot of questions because i find art confusing so i hope it doesn't bother you at all but out of all staedtler pencils which do you recommend for common, basic drawing or outlines ie: if you weren't going to do much shading or were going to use some kind of medium instead? thank you!

Not at all!Uhh I’ve only ever used Staedtler Mars Lumograph - to be honest, for drawing out, I don’t feel like it matters all that much, as long as you use a light pencil (e.g. hb or lighter), and don’t press too hard :)
