My theory about EXO’s Monster MV: First thing that I noticed and based my theory on this: What happens in “Dinner table Universe” explains the “Monster Universe” (I’m using universe cause it’s easier, doesn’t mean they are in different worlds).
1 - Baek was driving the van since the beginning (0:31) but in the dinner table universe everything is broken and time is coming back, look at the watch (0:38). I will explain this later.
2 - Baek passing by a table while other members stay there (you can count 8 members @ the dinner table), that’s why you see Baek alone at another table. Also, Baek in monster universe looks like he found a way to escape and leaves the members there. (his face expression is the same @ 1:44 and 2:13).
3 - The members getting beaten up (2:20) = things on the table getting broken (2:20). But that only happened to the members who didn’t escape, also it happened only to one dinner table, while Baek’s dinner table was safe.
4 - You can count only 8 members inside the van (see my screencap), meaning Baek really escaped before all that happened.
Now back to the beginning when the time was turning back and Baek was sitting alone at a dinner table waiting while the members were joining him, the table looks fine and nothing is broken cause that is Baek’s safe table. Meaning he escaped and came back (explained by the watch) to save the other members. Baek pretended to be the van’s driver to save them, at the end of the video they’re together again. Just like when members joined Baek’s safe dinner table and they got together.
The interesting thing is: Baek turned those cameras off from the dinner table universe, that’s why I think the dinner table universe is the “control panel” of the monster universe.
PS: this is one side of my theory, other option is that Baek was like a "double agent" before (that can explain why there’s a snake) but betrayed the “police” and got EXO safe.
