the thought of a full continental breakfast caused a gag to erupt from his throat. “please, LEAVE.” he husked, face still buried in the comforter. he groans and pulls the blanket from him, peeking over at her. she always won somehow. “i’m not cooking. i’m going downstairs, getting tylenol, then coming back up here, closing the door, and sleeping more. if you make a greasy ass breakfast and even the slightest smell of bacon seeps it’s way into my bedroom, i’ll throw everything out. pans included.”

        “jesus, y’know, for a guy who spends most of his hours with a bottle to his lips, you would think you’d know the magic of a greasy breakfast. also, i don’t cook. ever. unless you want me to burn this place down. i’m just trying to kill your fucking hangover, dumbass. now c’mon, ihop awaits!” nadia hopped to her feet, standing at the foot of his bed with arms folded delicately across her chest. “seriously. i’ve never seen you have a morning like this. you at least usually come into the living room or something.”

“i don’t know what you think you saw, but there’s no such thing as vampires,” caroline defended. her tongue darted out over her lip to wipe away any excess blood. “you’ve been watching too many movies.” this was a lie. it was all a lie. this girl had practically watched caroline take that man’s blood and compel him away. she’d seen everything. if she had to she’d compel her, but caroline wasn’t a big fan of erasing one’s memories. she’d first try to convince the girl that she was seeing things. “lay off the twilight novels.”

        “if you want to be convincing you should be so much less defensive. it’s like, ‘getting away with shit 101′.” nadia knew what she saw. all she needed was some simple validation. since being turned herself, it’s not like she’s met tons of others. “you didn’t try to claim self defense.” caramel hues inspected the person before her. she looked - refreshed. “twilight was the biggest waste of hollywood’s time. please don’t even try to play me like that.” but of course nadia had seen every one. “c’mon. i mean why else would that guy just walk away all cozy after you bit on him so hard there was blood left on the both of you?”

     only one woman left the bathroom in response to nadia’s terrible claim to be ill. jackie eyeballed her, paranoid that she was one of the people who spread the pictures. it was a shitty scare tactic that nadia was good at. to be honest, jackie should be incredibly more careful with her habits. public wasn’t a good place to be sniffing yak. her manicured nails clasp the dime bag in her purse. she shakes it down a bit, eyeing the powder. “it better be bullshit, yeah, because if you give me the flu, i’ll whoop your ass fully contaminated. i’m not even worried about it.” the palm of her hand brushes against the granite counter top, ridding it of any excess paper towel. “actually, do you have a mirror or something a little cleaner?” she asks, opening the dime bag regardless.

        seeing the woman leave gave only made nadia more anxious. the two were alone, she really couldn’t get a shot for work and knowing that she too was about to use.  “i’m obviously not really sick. i wouldn’t have come out to answer your pleas if i were.” nadia shot jackie a wink, eyes almost instantly falling to the bag after. she didn’t have anything cleaner on her now, but just upstairs in her almost perfectly clean hotel room, there were plenty of flat surfaces - and her twelve inch screen ipad pro (a personal favorite of the woman’s). “i have some wet wipes and really good smelling hand sanitizer? we could wipe the counter down.” before awaiting any kind of response, nadia got to work diving in her bag for the wet wipes and gently scrubbing down a section of the sink counter. “you’ll just have to be patient and let it dry before putting ANYTHING down.”

       compulsion. beheading. vervain. burning. feeding on human beings. it was A LOT to take in, nadia clearly hadn’t been ready for all that she’d asked. “so basically, i can do whatever i want but i’d need hook ups with some witch person to do ANYTHING in the daytime? beks, i cannot just up and move to alaska preying it’s the time of year that it’s all... dark and stuff.” a sigh fell heavy off her chest, defeat dragging her down. “who else can i go to? i’ll get out of your hair. just give me a name or address - phone number even. do vampires text or is it too new age?”

        “ no, you’re not delusional. you got bitten, you got fed blood. now you’re immortal. congratulations. “ this was a conversation she’d had more times than she could count ; a lot of people seemed to think they were dreaming, or in some sort of hell. cobalt hues roll in response to her, arms crossing over her chest in an attempt to stop her from strangling the other in front of her. “ well, obviously. i’ve been through this all. i just don’t understand what exactly you want from me. “

    had she made a breakthrough? as unsure as she was, the brunette let rebekah’s last admittance roll around her mind for a moment or two. “well - like, what should i expect? can i feed on animals like i did... yesterday? all i literally know about vampires is that they fucking EXIST, and don’t sparkle in the sun.” her eyes glance down to her own skin, almost as if to see what she did look like. nothing really different. “are there people i can’t trust?” she continued. “can i die even though i’m immortal? can my dads know?”

       “ i don’t need to take time out of my day killing a baby vamp — who will end up getting herself killed soon, anyway, love. you’re not worth my time. “ she knew she was probably being harsh ; but god, it god draining when every vampire turned wanted to be as powerful & as a skilled as the original. “ what exactly is your destiny, nadia ? to what ? become best friends with me ? me tell you all my deep dark secrets & tricks of the trade ? “

        “baby vamp. at least you can admit i’m not that delusional.” the repeated mention of nadia more than likely offing herself accidentally, elicited a rather dramatic eye roll. “obviously if i knew for sure what it was, i wouldn’t have to beg you to show me how to do anything. i’d be able to skip all the hard parts. i don’t need a best friend, especially one that’s older than dirt and has the biggest stick up her ass.” brave, nadia. brave. she inhaled sharply, granting eye contact. “if you had your whole life flipped and someone knew about it more personally than anyone else, wouldn’t you at least try to find out how your new life is supposed to work?” she was wordy if nothing else when fearful. 

           “ that’s where you’re wrong. i just cannot be bothered to clean your body up when you get yourself KILLED. “ the girl was trying the blonde’s patience, getting on her last nerve. “ i’m not showing you anything. what aren’t you understanding about that ? “

         the seriousness in the blonde’s tone was suffocating nadia. there was so much POTENTIAL. all she had to do was make the other see that. with a sharp breath in, the younger female tried again. “because if i was such a big problem, i really think you’d have killed me by now. i don’t know why this happened to me of all the freaking people on this planet, but fate is a thing, rebekah! this is my destiny and i’m pretty sure buddha himself would back be up on this.”
