a very, VERY important post. spread everywhere and screen record the video to your phone. or message me and ill happily send you the video. give to every woman and girl you know.

bc as they both said / demonstrated, its not only super easy to do, but super easy to miss.

Ladies be aware and careful. Guys call out assholes who even think about doing that to someone.

And not just ladies. Last time I circulated one of these sorts of post, a gay male friend mentioned a similar thing happening both to him and somebody he knew.

underrated prince of egypt things

•how they handle the violence of the story. the dead guard moses threw off the scaffolding with only his hand shown. the children being ripped from weeping mothers’ arms. it’s enough to draw horror without being gratuitous.

•little ramses jumping up trying to see moses. just. how their relationship was portrayed. it would be so easy to see these deadly opponents and not buy into the idea that they love each other. but they did. and they do. and then it’s broken.

•tzipporah saying ‘i won’t be given to anyone! especially an arrogant palace brat!’ and later marrying moses of her own free will.

•moses sarcastically saying that ramses singlehandedly destroyed the greatest kingdom on earth, and it actually coming true.

•ramses chariot-racing moses in the intro and moses nearly ramming him to death, and ramses in the red sea being thrown off his broken chariot in his vengeance and bloodlust.

•moses returning to the palace in the dark and gently touching the same pillar, and finding ramses sitting in the same place he used to. ramses’ son standing in front of the mural of the killing of the children, something which affected moses so deeply, without even noticing it was there.

•how God is portrayed in this movie. the design is gorgeous and otherwordly and powerful. the sound design and the soundtrack grabs you. it is respectful to faith and twinged with the awe the presence of God creates.

•how Moses finds the burning bush by following a lost sheep. I love the allusions to other Biblical figures and tropes. I love me some Jesus prefigurement.

  • The way they give Ramses the line “And there shall be a great cry in all the land of Egypt, such as there never has been, nor ever will be again”, which in the Bible is the word of God, making it clear Ramses is the architect of his own kingdom’s destruction
  • In fact, since Moses is a prophet, that scene is even more epic because he’s literally hearing the word of God from his own brother’s mouth, and it’s horrifying
  • The way Ramses’ inferiority complex drives him to undertake all these massive building projects as compensation, and even to make his own statue even bigger than his dad’s
  • And yet he still can’t measure up
  • How quiet and haunting the death of the firstborn is, especially in comparison to the other plagues. The Plagues is by far one of the most iconic songs from this movie, but when the time comes for the final plague, there’s no music, no singing, nothing. Just the wind, and the last breath each child takes.

It's just such a phenomenal movie

Bruh I didn't have my own room until I was like 12. And it was half the size of the one pictured lol

That doesn't look like all that bad of a bedroom? Sure it might get a little crazy with 3 kids in 1 bedroom but it really is not that bad.

People have successfully raised children through poverty, war, and plagues but Lord forbid siblings share a room. The upper classes can't help but voice their distain for the lower class.

I shared a room with my brothers and cousin in the back of a fifth wheel.

Its not ideal but people make it work

“Having your own room is the bare minimum”

Please go talk to like 5 people with siblings. Your experiences are not universal.

Also, “bare minimum”? What’s the ideal, each kid having their own apartment?

Now ideally, especially as kids get older, you want boys and girls in separate rooms. But you can easily have 2-3 kids comfortably in one room. That’s what bunk beds are for.

I did get my own room growing up, but that’s because I have one brother who’s 8 years younger than me and by the time he came around we were in a position where we could each have our own rooms. I am grateful for that, but if I’d had to share a room it wouldn’t have been the end of the world.

The real issue with this is the implication from these commenters that if siblings have to share a room, the younger ones shouldn’t exist. Shouldn’t have been born. These people would say it is better to have never been conceived or to have been aborted so you don’t have to *shudder* share a room with your siblings

It would be laughable if there weren’t children who have literally been killed in the womb because of mindsets like this.

The social attitude regarding age is consistently getting weirder. You’re not ‘pushing 30’ you’re just in your late 20s. 30 is not old and neither is 40 while I’m at it. Growing older is an enormous privilege and displaying that age is a gorgeous component of life. Spending your days trying to reverse that grace breeds an eternally wasted life.

Everyone talking about posts that changed their brain chemistry seem to be leaving out this classic, which probably propelled me into activism and more self confidence in a way that I cannot put into words.

its important to stop to count your blessings when you find yourself going "when am i going to catch that damn break" . You'll be amazed what you missed

i think there's a lot of truth to this. it's usually in the midst of the worst of it that you're catching the most grace. you just luckily can't see how much worse it could be

if you dont want print media to die, buy physical copies of things. if you don’t want independent journalism to die, subscribe to a local newspaper. if you want more libraries and skate-parks and arcades, get a bunch of friends and call in the individual charge of your village or town or whatever and ask for one to be built and use the existing ones. if you want more native flora and fauna, start looking at the ones that already exist and how to preserve them. this is your world too. fight for it. get rid of the rot of passivity.
