Relatable birb owner things - the Nice List

I guess I should make a Nice List too because while birds are 90% pain inthe ass they are Nice 10% of the time (being generous here). BUT they are always 100% perfect.

- Birdloaves, B’orbs

- SOFT PEEPING SOUNDS

-Ball tongues

-When the eyes move inwards to focus then outwards to look like a spaced-out doof

—-

-pat-pat-pat sound of bird feet on floor.

-warm birb snuggles

-greeting sounds when you walk through the door

-chain-yawns with sassy neck movement

- beak grinding

-sleeping on the one Foot

-the fluffenchops with head tilt

-i like the sound when they itch their head with their foot. bzzzzzzzzz

So once the Thunderstorm soloist in Riverdance was performed by a woman and its the most epic thing I’ve ever seen

This is awesome!! (Not necessarily because it’s led by a woman, but because it’s just awesome)

All the time. I knew 10x more than my boss about my particular job area and yet people just wanted to talk to him. Luckily he knew what was up and always smiled and said they needed to talk to me.

Do you have any advice on if you can wear nail polish and have a bird because i really want to paint my nails but my bird has a habit of chewing on my fingers and nails

Avatar

Before starting to pain your nails you may want to start teaching your bird to not chew on your nails or the tips of your fingers as a precaution. The nail polish can’t hurt them if they don’t scrape any off and ingest it, so that’s obviously the easiest solution I can think of.

I’d try to make sure if the bird does beak fingers that you not allow them to scrape their beak across it at all and try not to pull your finger away in such a way that it would peel the paint from your nail on their beak. Some birds may be attracted or frightened of painted nails if they’ve never experienced them before so certainly making sure your hands are moving slower than usual when you go to see them for the first little while.

Otherwise I am really not sure as I don’t have experience with nail polish.Does anyone have advice for how to handle nail polish around birds?

My GCC is quite scared of it. I can easily live without it so I have chosen to do so just to make it easy. I will still use it for special occasions and would just remove it promptly.

From “Dancing On Dangerous Ground”

When it comes to the Irish Dance stage shows, I have found enjoyment in watching both Michael Flatley and Colin Dunne.  Many people argue “which is better”, but it’s really all in what you are looking for.

Michael Flatley is an awesome dancer, and he knows it.  He is the master of the huge spectacle, the bright lights and sequins and pyrotechnics, and of course those flashing silver heels.

Colin Dunne is a great dancer, but he is more of a storyteller: “Watch closely, I am going to tell you a story through dance.”

Jean Butler, now…there’s just nobody else to compare at all. :)

Here is a clip of Colin and Jean from their sadly all-too-short-lived show “Dancing On Dangerous Ground”, a retelling of the story of Finn, and Grainne and Diarmuid.  The Irish version of Arthur with Guinevere and Lancelot.

Colin as Diarmuid and Jean as Grainne really strike some sparks in this scene:

It’s like an Irish dance tango!

DODG is underrated and with a bit of work could have stuck around longer. I love the partner dances they do <3
