السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته 💗

I am fundraising on behalf of my grandmother الله يرحمها who passed away a few weeks ago.

This will go towards a Water Well in Cameroon 🇨🇲 and Water Pump in Pakistan 🇵🇰.

Donating to a Sadaqah Jaariyah project is one of the most beautiful acts of charity which benefits the giver and receiver. May Allah (swt) make this a means for our Akhirah.

The gift of water saves lives, which is a hugely rewardable action.

Allah says in the Qur'an, 'And whoever saves one a life - it is as if he had saved all of mankind'. (Qur'an, 5:32)

Even if you’re unable to donate, please share this link & allow yourself to gain the reward.

بارك الله فيكم

Anonymous asked:

Can you pls explain to me in simple terms what the Muslim religion is about. I tried googling it but of course I got a bunch of Christians being trash. I am curious and would appreciate it if you could help me. I mainly want to know basic principles

Hi, ok the fundamentals of Islam are simple. I’ll quote legitimate references from two sources, which we muslims use in our daily lives:

- Qur’an (Which we believer is the final message revealed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) and

- Sunnah (The teachings, sayings and livelihood of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, which has been compiled into collections, known as hadith)

These two make the primary sources of Islamic Theology, and where Shariah Law is derived from.

Note: If you see ﷺ anywhere, it is just an honorific we give to the Prophet Muhammad, which means [Peace Be Upon Him], we give the same (AlayhiSalam) honour to all the Prophets in Islam; Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus [Peace Be Upon Them All] (those are only a few of the Prophets in Islam, who are also mentioned in Christianity and Judaism).

Now, to the fundamentals of Islam

Narrated Ibn ‘Umar رضي الله عنه‎:Allah’s Messenger ﷺ said: Islam is based on (the following) five (principles):1. Shahadah: To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah’s Messenger ﷺ.2. Salah: To offer the prayers dutifully and perfectly.3. To pay Zakah (i.e. obligatory charity) .4. To perform Hajj. (i.e. Pilgrimage to Mecca)5. To observe Fast during the month of Ramadan.
[Sahih Bukhari: Book 2, Hadith 1]

1. Shahadah; this is the most important principle, it is the declaration of faith. Declaring the Oneness of God. Without believing in Allah and Muhammad ﷺ being his Final Messenger, one cannot be a muslim. Even if one is forced to declare this, it is still not true belief. A person also cannot force another into believing this, because again it does not mean true belief.

2. Salah; This is just as important as the Shahadah. It is the offering of 5 daily prayers: Fajr (During Dawn), Zuhr (Slighty after Midday), Asr (Afternoon), Maghrib (During Sunset), Isha (Evening/Night). These are the 5 compulsory prayers which every muslim must offer. There are also congregations prayers on Friday (Jumm’uah) where the Imam (Leader of the Mosque/Community) will deliver a sermon.

3. Zakah; This is an obligatory charity that muslims must give every year. The Zakah given differs upon every muslim as it is based on income and value of specific possessions/assets. There are other types of charity that a muslim can give. This is not compulsory on every muslim, as those who are poor are exempt.

4. Hajj: This is the pilgrimage millions of muslims perform every year, by visiting the Holy Mosque. Hajj is compulsory on those who are physically and financially able to do so.

5. Fasting during Ramadan; Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar, and it is the month where the Prophet ﷺ first received his revelation, through the Angel Jibril. Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset throughout this month, we do not eat anything… and no ‘not even water’.

These are the five basic principles.

A muslim must also believe in the Torah; revealed to Moses (Musa AlayhiSalam), The Book of Psalms; revealed to David (Daud AlayhiSalam), the Gospels; revealed to Jesus (Isa AlayhiSalam) and the Lost Scrolls of Abraham; revealed to Abraham (Ibrahim AlayhiSalam).

The information above is just touching the surface of Islam, there is much more to learn about. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

To anyone else reading this, if I have made a mistake or missed anything out, please correct me :)

Allah knows best.

It was narrated from ʿĀʾishah رضي الله عنها that she said: "O Messenger of Allāh, what do you think I should say in my supplication, if I come upon Laylat al-Qadr?" He ﷺ said: "Say: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي" [Sunan Ibn Mājah 3850, Graded Ṣaḥīḥ]

This is when the Arab nations were rejecting Bangladesh, because they saw the formation of Bangladesh as a war against Islam, while Pakistan committed genocide against Bangladeshis.

Bangladesh came to the aid of Palestine, by sending a medical team and relief supplies when Israel was bombing them, and also sent troops to Lebanon in 2006 as peacekeepers during Lebanon’s war against Israeli Forces.

Bangladesh showed their brotherhood to muslim nations, all the while the major arab nations were rejecting them.

InShaAllah, this Ramadan will mark 5 years since I started praying Salah regularly…

I’m not posting this to brag or show off, but to hopefully help every one who is struggling with praying their salah.

Before I even started praying I used to sit on social media all day, I’d post a few Qur’an ayah here and there, and I used to feel as though what I am doing as a muslim was enough. That my imaan was growing because of my social media posts. It wasn’t.

I used to keep getting into islamic debates online, I’d argue against non-muslims and defend Islam against terrorism, I’d debate with brothers and sisters about ‘what is hijab’, and about music, and about all sorts of other things - the typical arguments you see online. I had a lot of things going on in my life and I used to vent my frustration online… to random people - but it never gave me peace.

I would sit on the computer and watch islamic lectures on youtube, about the history of Islam, about marriage, about famous muslims from the past, about the importance of Salah, but the irony was I would watch these videos on salah, while neglecting the times of prayer. - I still couldn’t find peace, I was always moody and used to keep my distance with my family.

Ramadan 2012 was around the corner, I used to see these posts about ‘Ramadan muslims’ and how certain muslims will only act religious in Ramadan and not any other time of the year - It frustrated me even more, as I felt that I was one of those people. So I set myself a goal. I used Ramadan as a catalyst. I prayed all Salah during Ramadan and used that motivation to continue after Ramadan. I tried my best. Every single Salah I tried my best to pray.

I focused on my Fajr Salah first, if I could wake up for Fajr, then the other four should be a piece of cake. So I was there, I never missed a single Salah for a whole year - and with it I felt more peace around me, I felt closer to my family as well.

I won’t lie to you, after the first year, I kind of slacked with my Salah, I missed one fajr, and then began delaying certain prayers through the day - but I would still make sure I made up for them. Even if I wasn’t on time, I would do my best to pray the missed salah - it started having an effect on me as a person again, I started getting moody at times, and lost my temper easily.

Alhamdulillah, for the past few weeks I’ve been striving to pray on time again, especially now that Ramadan is here. So I just want to tell anyone that has difficulty with their prayers, and get told they are just ‘Ramadan Muslims’ - don’t worry, this could be the year you start praying every single salah. Just keep yourself motivated. Ramadan is the best time to make that change. Everyone has a starting point, but I want to say something; it may be cliche, but I can honestly say I have seen the benefit in my life, as a person, that salah has helped me gain more patience. If you’re not praying salah on time, or are missing it, do your best and you will see how much your life improves.

May Allah make it easy for us.

A sincere motivation for those strugling
