I need genice-nim tips for drawing perspective, it's my weak point but I need to fix it ;_;

LOL perspective isnt rly my strong point either but ill try ;v ;basically! :

-simplify things into simpler shapes like cylinders and boxes and stuff (a simple shape is usually easier to draw than an entire object or thing)

-put things in boxes

-consider the vanishing points and parallel lines and horizons in the drawing and use perspective guidelines (i personally find drawing guidelines for most things to b rly tedious lol so a lot of the time i just visualize them, having them drawn out helps to keep things consistent and accurate tho)

i think its also important to b careful w the angles when drawing lines and stuff especially with inorganic shapes and objects bc if something is off it can b rly obvious (one of the biggest giveaways for me is when lines that should b parallel arent parallel)

-u can exaggerate the distance from the viewer of something by varying things like contrast and color saturation

-basically just practice often, and if things feel too challenging mayb try drawing simple things in perspective at first, and then gradually increase the complexity?? like start with drawing prisms and stuff, and then move onto objects that are made up of two or three prisms (like cameras and bottles), then objects that are made up of /more/ prisms (like guns and cars), etc etc until you get a hang of it or somethingpracticing with photo reference can help a lot

i’d also recommend looking through this person’s tag (and/or their blog in general) there are a lot of helpful things

also this video about the coil technique by sycraits rly neat and also very helpful

and then lastly a disclaimer i just want to say that everything here is just from my current understanding of perspective and things i’ve observed so i might be wrong about some stuff (like the part about parallel lines, theres probably exceptions but i cant explain or think of any atm lol. the largest possible number of vanishing points is also something im not completely sure about) i think the best thing to do is to look through multiple sources of information and see what matches up and makes sense to you
