there has been talk about about jyn going completely feral when she first sees cassian with longer hair, but not enough talk of her reaction when she sees him with a beard

I mean, come on

Cassian comes back to base after a long mission in which he wasnt able to get shave or get a hair cut in a while and jyn loses her mind a little

Since you declared that you are not a SHINRAN but THE SHINRAN - and I appreciate you very much for this - I wanted to ask you if you have ever let yourself be beaten down by the Coai (who obviously have every right to ship whoever they want)?

Then don't you think that the new Conan is "colder" than the old version (which I miss so much!)?

Hello!

It's been CENTURIES since I last answered Conan asks! Kinda miss it, to be honest. But Conan's become such a drag that I have little to no energy left in me to actually think about it for too long.

What do you mean "beaten down"? Like, they've made me doubt my ShinRan religion? That they've made me feel sick to my stomach? That they've angered me, or frustrated me, or tried --in vain-- to change my mind? That they've made me wanna pull my hair in 400 different directions?

Probably yes to all of the above except for the doubts. I've never doubted ShinRan is and was always meant to be endgame. And while, as a teenager learning to navigate the Internet --it was a far more dangerous, wild, and unknown place back then--, I did find myself frustrated by some of the things CoAi shippers defended and said, with time and age and wisdom you learn not to get into all of that. Eventually I stopped reading and listening to them, and since then the world has been a much better place. It doesn't really do anyone any good to listen to haters or people who believe different things than you do if they're not willing to be constructive about them. And in my experience CoAi shippers were that kind of people. So I silenced tags and edits and key words and ever since I have been a much happier person in that regard. They do have the right to ship whatever they want, as do I. There's no need to argue about it. Ship and let ship, is my motto. As long as it doesn't actually hurt anyone or interfere with the original author's intent in a negative way.

As for your other question, again, in which sense do you mean? Is Conan, the character himself, colder? I think, if anything, he's become much warmer, much more human and empathetic and in touch with the rest of humanity. Do you mean the show/manga/anime has gotten colder in terms of tone because it's much more frivolous? I don't really think so, although to be fair I barely read cases anymore because I'm so tired of them and their lack of creativity and overall repetitiveness.

Wow, it's almost like Gosho Aoyama has suffered from multiple health issues in the past due to the demands of Detco, one of which landed him in the hospital. I'm not going to fault the dude for his hiatuses, if he needs to take them for his health, that's literally a good thing. Sorry, you might be frustrated but you need to be aware of how entitled you come across as.

You really did not understand my point.

I am not complaining about the hiatuses. If he needs them for his health then of course he should go on them as much as he needs to.

THAT is not the problem.

The problem is that he has these long hiatuses and when he does come back he still chooses NOT to develop the story. You can't say the opposite.

If you're gonna call me entitled please make sure you understood what I said first.

Also the whole point is that if he truly is sick and old and ridden with health issues —which are totally normal for a mangaka of his age working on such a long story— the logical thing would be for him to let it go. To wrap everything up as fast as he can and put an end to his and our suffering. I understand he’s probably under a lot of stress and pressure from publishers, editors, movie producers etc, but he needs to step up and put his health and the quality and integrity of his work first and foremost so that he can finally rest and we can get the ending we deserved to a story that has already dragged along so much that it’s really starting to become narrative shit on all levels.

Spoilers 1122

A bit disappointing case's ending (Shinichi doesn't return!).

Eventually, Shinichi is discovered to be Kid. Ran finds out too, because Kaito turned the wrong cheek.

Hakuba doesn't discover that Conan is Shinichi, but instead he thinks that Shinichi was giving instructions to Conan.

The good thing is that Ran finds out that the romantic words were indeed Shinichi's, so that will allow ShinRan to develop a little.

It was just a normal case...

Oh well ... Another case that amounts to NOTHING. Yet again. It's amazing how I somehow always end disappointed with this manga lmao. I was excited af about something good coming out of this. It could've been awesome but no.

Anyway. I'll keep the good part, which is that Ran knew it was not Shinichi and that in the end she also knows the sentences were his still, somehow.

Let's hope that at least this goes somewhere in a near future and they do actually go on that fucking date because if not.... What was the fucking point of literally ANYTHING in this chapter?

Gosho is a fucking joke of a writer
