I did not expect the picture to be so tiny, sorry.
This is a spread I just made and used on the fly, but I figure it might be useful. I’ll post parts of my reading below to explain.
Essentially, imagine a situation as a cube, where each individual person sees a face of the cube. To understand the full situation, you need to piece together all of the faces of the cube. (I tried coloring some of the cube faces and the arrows pointing from the cards to the cube to clear up which card is looking at which face)
Depending on the level of information shared between two individuals, their cube faces might be more transparent and allow for them to see the perception of the person opposite them as well. For example, in my reading #2 was my male roommate and #5 was my female roommate. They are dating and they are both close friends with #3 and #4, so they combined have the highest potential for sharing information and thus their perceptions affect each other’s perceptions. By contrast, #1 was me and #6 was my friends collectively. Since I’ve been mostly quiet on the situation, there is little information shared and thus our perceptions do not affect each other very much.
To use this spread, determine 6 possible views of the situation. For me, this situation is a relationship between myself and a friend, so the positions were:
- Me
- My male roommate
- My friend
- His roommates
- My female roommate
- My friends
There are other viewpoints I could have defined but did not. Depending on who you define as having a view of the situation and whose perception they could possibly color, you will have to interpret the spread differently.
Another aspect is that touching faces (for example, #1 and #3 touch) have the possibility of bleeding into each other, depending on how close those people are in real life. For instance, in my reading my perception and my friend’s perception bleed together.
Since this spread is about how a person sees a situation, I found it useful to pay attention to the figures in the cards and see where they were looking. For instance, in my reading #2 was Strength and #6 was the Queen of Pentacles, which have figures whose heads are looking the same direction. Similarly, #3 was the Hanged Man and #4 was the Hierophant, who are both looking at the fourth wall of the card but they are opposite of each other.
I really hope that this spread is useful to some of my followers, and if there’s anything that needs clarifying please send me an Ask and I’ll do my best!
