“It is. You’ll get it. It takes practice.”

Maggie smiled softly as they headed to the car. Steve saw them and ran over with a look of concern on his face. Maggie assured Steve that she was alright. She’d just pushed herself too hard training. Steve thought she should go to the medical center before going home.

Bucky tried to hide his own worry, he didn’t want her pushing herself too much. Especially not because of him, not because he wanted a distraction. “Come on.” He said softly as he lightly led her towards the medical bay, his arm around her the whole time just in case she started to feel weak. “You okay? Need me to get you something to eat or anything? A drink?”

Maggie nodded as Bucky helped her to the medbay. "Yes, thank you, Bucky." She was glad that Bucky was with her because the medbay brought up all sorts of awful memories from her childhood. Having him there helped to keep her calm.

send in " take it easy. you're safe now, but you need to relax. " for the sender to greet a waking receiver after having found them badly wounded and on the brink of collapse at their doorstep.

alternatively, send in " how long was i out for? " for the sender, having woken up on the receiver's sofa/bed/spare bed, to greet the receiver after showing up on their doorstep earlier with serious injuries and in a weakened state.

She had to remember not to push herself so hard in the future. It was difficult but she’d do better.

Maggie nodded as she leaned against Bucky more. She suddenly felt very tired, like her body was weighed down by a thousand weights.

She smiled softly at him.

“You’re getting better at cooking Bucky. With me as your teacher, you’ll be the best!”

Bucky had to get out of his own head and look after her, that’s all he wanted. For her to be okay, and sometimes they worried about each other too much.

“I mean the food is getting edible now.” He teased and kissed the side of her head softly as he kept his arm around her as he led her towards the car. “Come on, let’s home. You can rest, get comfortable. I can order your favourite chicken soup if you want?”

Maggie leaned into Bucky’s touch as fatigue suddenly hit her.

“I have to be better, Bucky. Stronger. For you and for myself too.”

She felt terrible for worrying Bucky. Taking care of him was very important to her.

“I don’t think I’ll be able to cook dinner today…. I think I need to go home and lay down….”

“Hey, look at me.” Bucky said softly, his hands on her shoulders to try and get her to listen to him. He knew she wanted to look out for him, and vice versa. He didn’t want her hurting herself because she was too busy watching over him.

“Let me take you home, alright? I’ll go to the store, grab you whatever you want to eat. And I’ll cook….and if that fails I’ll order your favourite takeout.”

She had to remember not to push herself so hard in the future. It was difficult but she'd do better.

Maggie was glad that Bucky was getting his mind off things even if for a little while.

She trained hard too but sometimes pushed herself too hard. She pushed herself harder every time for Bucky. She wanted to be the best she could be for him.

Whenever she pushed herself too hard she’d get nosebleeds and a migraine. This time she didn’t even notice until she saw a small puddle of blood at her feet.

Bucky got in to the zone and could feel his head clearing, having something to focus on, to let out his rage.

He stopped when he noticed something in the corner of his eye, looking over to see the small amount of blood on the floor. “Hey, hey.” He said and rushed over to Maggie’s side, his hand lightly rested on her arm. “Slow down, okay? Take a break.”

Maggie leaned into Bucky's touch as fatigue suddenly hit her.

Maggie nodded.

“I think they have new punching bags darling. Specially for you and Steve.”

She pointed them out as she put her hair up and did some stretches physically and mentally. She was going to work on control and lifting/moving dofferent sized objects with her telekinesis.

Bucky smiled and nodded, it did often make him feel better that Steve went through a lot of punching bags. That both of them sometimes forgot how strong they were, that they couldn’t control themselves at times.

He couldn’t help but watch Maggie for a moment as she stretched and got himself in to the mindset and started on the punching bags, focussing on what he was hitting, feeling himself getting in to the zone.

Maggie was glad that Bucky was getting his mind off things even if for a little while.

Maggie was glad of this and led Bucky to one of the gyms/training rooms that wasn’t occupied.

“What shall we do first? It’s your choice today, darling.”

Whatever Bucky needed, Maggie would try to provide that for him. Letting him choose how they would train was just one way for h÷ to do that for him.

Bucky felt incredibly lucky that he had Maggie in his life, that when days got tough, he had her. So that he didn’t get lost in his own head.

“Can’t lie, I definitely want to punch something.” He confessed, having some way of an outlet for his anger that he was feeling. “Then maybe we could get some lunch. Away from here, away from – everything.”

Maggie nodded.

“I told you not to act recklessly like that. You might think you’re protecting me, but you’re gonna get yourself killed if you keep jumping in like that.”

Avatar

"You did? I don't remember that."

Clint blinked, staring at her in confusion.

She was the focus of a flurry of medical staff in an instant. It wasn't long before she was on a bed of her own, next to Clint.

Clint had fallen asleep after his MRI, woken up periodically by McCoy, waiting for his results, which he eventually got.

Maggie awoke awhile later to pain in her chest.

The wound was hurting now but she didn't want to cry out.

She'd glance over at Clint to see how he was doing. She was still worried for him even then.

"C-Clint? You okay?"

"Is that Stark Tower we're heading towards?" Clint asked

"Indeed it is but it's called Avenger's Tower now. It's the homebase for the Avengers. Of which you are a member. You do remember being an Avenger, don't you?"

Maggie was growing increasingly worried about how much Clint had forgotten. Luckily they had arrived at the Tower.

"First place we're going is the medical wing. You need to be seen to Clint."

"I know Coulson was pushing for me to be on the Avengers Initiative, but I thought I was disqualified after I disobeyed orders to recruit Nat."

"You're definitely an Avenger Clint. I promise."

Maggie guided Clint to the medical area and called for a doctor.

Doctor Nora McCoy, one of the few doctors Clint tolerated, came over.

"Welcome back, Barton," she remarked. "What happened this time?"

Clint frowned.

"Why are you here and not on the helicarrier?" He asked her.

McCoy sighed.

"Ah, amnesia. I'll answer that in a moment, Barton."

The doctor turned to Maggie.

"What happened?"

Maggie was frowning worried over her friend as the doctor spoke to her.

"We were on a routine patrol. We got jumped by some blokes. Clint and I got separated and when I found him again he was injured. I cleaned up his head wound as best I could and we came straight back here."

"Alright. Any other injuries besides the head injury?" McCoy asked, looking at Clint and Maggie both for an answer.

"No. Just the head injury," Clint replied honestly.

"Good," McCoy said before gesturing for an orderly to come over with a stretcher. "We'll take a look at your head with an MRI."

Maggie was relieved that Clint would be getting the care he needed.

"You be good for the Doctor now, Clint. I'll be back to check on you soon."

Turning to leave, Maggie suddenly felt woozy and saw the while world go black as her knees gave out and she fell to the floor unconscious.

Apparently one of the asshole's bullets had hit her in the chest/torso area and gone right through.

Her focus had been on Clint and so she hadn't even noticed the injury.

“Alright. We can go train for awhile. You don’t have to face everyone if you don’t want to today.”
Maggie linked hands with her boyfriend and led him off to the training rooms. She also wanted to get away from everyone and their constant asking after herself and Bucky. Bucky was her priority that day.
“How about after some training….. We can pick some some things and I can cook us a yummy meal. Maybe we can swim in the pool afterwards. I’m very glad Tony was able to get us such a nice place.”

Bucky appreciated her giving him the space, to let him have his time to clear his head. Training was something that did that for him.

He took a deep breath as she held his hand, squeezing it in return as they started talking. “That sounds nice.” He confessed and looked in to her eyes for a moment. “That sounds really nice, thank you.” He whispered, giving her a weak smile but it was better than it had been all morning.

Maggie was glad of this and led Bucky to one of the gyms/training rooms that wasn't occupied.
