This man got a dance with me, and while I waited for the next song to start I asked him what he does, and he said he manages a Domino’s Pizza. I was like “Nice! Pizza is awesome.” And he goes “Is this ALL you do?” And I said cheerfully “Yep! Is managing a domino’s all you do?” And he said “Well yeah I just know some girls do this part time.” And I said “Yeah I could say the same for pizza 🙃🙃🙃🙃” and he just kind of awkwardly agreed, and I gave him the dance and he practically ran out the door afterwards. 💃🏻💃🏻

Can we please stop the White Feminist™ idea that naked = empowered?

Because I had to watch the Muslim girl in my history class lucture the class on Islam’s treatment of women and why she wears her hijab to feel closer to god, because some new girl in our class tried to coerce her into taking it off, and then proceeded to try to take it off her.

I made sure she was alright after class and she told me she’s used to it. I. Got. Pissed. Because this sweet girl is used to other people trying to rip her hijab off. I’m not Muslim, but from what I understand, that’s like being used to people trying to rip your shirt off of you.

Also, this idea doesn’t just threaten and offend Muslim women and girls. Because a lot of women and afab people don’t like being naked. It’s not empowering to them, it’s demeaning. For example, I don’t like being naked, because I just don’t feel comfortable with it. But still, my family still forces me to wear bikinis to the beach and thinks I’m self conscious just because I don’t want to wear the least amount of clothes possible.

So, in summary:

Destroy the White Feminist™ idea that Naked = Empowered

Female empowerment is the ability to chose to behave or dress as you wish.  Hard stop. If you, personally, feel empowered by walking around in public topless, more power to you.  However, if someone else is choosing to be covered from head to toe because that makes them feel empowered, then back the fuck off.  

The power is in the choice, not in the result.

As a nursing major this hurts me. It’s already hard enough taking care of someone who cannot take care of themselves but NOW we don’t have the materials needed to administer care. This pisses me off 😒

He’s telling the truth, I currently work at a hospital and there is a nationwide shortage of IV fluid bags. So bad that they’re referring to alternative methods like medications that can be administered orally or like the post above. Smh

Not to mention the shortage of antibiotics

Some 40% of drugs and supplies used in the US were manufactured in PR. Drug shortages were predicted after the hurricane and now they are starting to happen.  Since PR doesn’t seem to be considered to be part of the US by this administration, help to fix it has been short and late in coming, which means that drug shortages will only get worse.

in the children’s hospital i was rotating at we weren’t changing central line tubing (lines that go.. directly to your heart, as in, not something you want infected) for six days instead of 3 due to shortages

Hey guys, if you want to support content creators on tumblr, you should turn the ‘best stuff first’ option OFF. It pushes the posts with thousands of notes to the front, so you’re more likely to miss the newer stuff and the posts from smaller bloggers, even ones you really like and reblog a lot. Tumblr also seems to be pushing the nsfw content down the list, so if you want to support sex workers and help them get their content out there, it’s probably better to try and keep your dash chronological. Hopefully this isn’t a permanent feature, as so far absolutely nobody I’ve seen seems to like it.
