“Shhh, I’m the only one who’s allowed to criticize you. And I say you did very well and I’d find a very special soul as a treat for you if I could. But…that’ll have to wait until I’m back on my throne.” Crowley sighed softly, though he smiled at his Hound. “You waited for the right moment. Even if you had found me before, Lucifer didn’t leave me alone for long enough until today.” So all that’d have happened was Derek getting killed.

“Just be careful.” He chewed on some chicken, “If you die, I’m truly alone.” He smiled a little sadly at him, but it was only the truth. “We’ll find a way to get you some once you need them, I promise. Now eat, chop chop. Or I’ll eat it all, yours included.”“

Derek’s next forkful of food paused at his lips at the sad statement. “I will never leave you sir. Never, I swear.” His voice was stern and soft, containing emotions he wasn’t sure he’d felt in a long time. Derek would kill the whole world for Crowley, destroy heaven, do literally anything except die and leave him on his own.

Quickly he twisted his features so that he could jest with his Master some. “Well if you’re that hungry I can give you mine, if you ask nicely,” he teased shoving food into his mouth afterward.

“Don’t you worry, I won’t starve that quickly.” Crowley chuckled, smiling fondly at his hound. He cares for him, and deeply so. It was pretty nice. And there went his hand again, brushing the backside of his palm against Derek’s cheek. “With you nursing me back to health, I’ll be fine in no time.” He hummed, eating happily.

He used to hate food, especially as a human, but this… maybe he’d just trusted the wrong cooks. Or you needed to be human to taste it. “How’re you feeling, pup? Living on human food alone isn’t going to keep you alive forever.” He needed souls.

Derek blinked softly at the affectionate touch but welcomed it anyhow. Sure he usually got head pats and bumps, even the occasional nuzzle but this felt different. He smiled some at the words. "I'm not doing all I could though. And I could have found you faster." He probably wouldn't let that go, Derek was always hard on himself.

The concern was typical and Derek knew what his Master meant. He had eaten quite a few souls before finding Crowley. But they wouldn't last too long if he needed to shift forms. In fact, they'd burn up quickly just shifting and he'd be too weak to function. But for now he would be fine. He wasn't going to shift or over exert himself yet. "I'll be fine Master. I promise."

“Pup, if I wanted privacy or distance, you’d be first to know.” He pecked his Hound on the forehead (yes, he had to pull Derek down and stand on his toes to do it, but it worked) and shuffled into the bedroom. The other didn’t follow, so Crowley wiggled off his towel and went to rummage through the closer to find underwear and, “Oh God.” He sighed softly, his fingers curling around the sleeve of a suit jacket. He probably was hard by now, but he couldn’t care less. SUITS. There was nothing better in this world.

He picked an outfit and got dressed slowly and happily, but didn’t bother with a tie while he stayed at this place. And then he went to join Derek, sitting down like he was told to. “Smells fantastic, pup.” He purred, stealing a bite and softly moaning at the taste.

Despite the words, Derek was still skeptical but he smiled at the forehead kiss. The sight of Crowley in a suit and smiling made Derek’s heart skip a beat. His Master was back, for the most part in a physical sense. Again with the moans and Derek looking anywhere but Crowley’s face. Why did his master have to make such noises so freely and why did he have to be so affected now?

Slowly Derek sat next to his master and waited. “Go ahead and eat sir, there’s plenty of it left too if you find you crave more.” He smiled, slowly lifting a forkful to his mouth.

“That’s true. You never were too far. Clingy little ball of fur.“ The demon chuckled heartily, scrubbing a wet hand through his Hellhound’s hair again. He liked the way it felt. Petting him despite being in that form. Crowley had always liked Derek best. It wasn’t fair to the others, but…that was how he felt.

Crowley felt a lot better now. Dirt and sweat scrubbed off his skin, he could almost forget about the last few weeks already. He stood and climbed out of the tub, taking the offered towel to wrap it around his hips. Derek looking away? Yeah, he noticed that and it was adorable to say the least. Tall, bulky Hellhound shied away at the sight of a naked man. "Stop trying to leave my side, you silly Hound. You’re not my slave. You’re my lovely little pup.” And now he cupped his cheek. “If you want to accompany me, you can. If you’d rather not because you have something else to do. Or you feel uncomfortable, I don’t mind. Hm?” And then he was walking back into the bedroom to find a nice suit in the closet.

Derek grunted and huffed. He wasn’t clingy, just... affectionate. “I don’t mean to, I’m offering you privacy and space. Things I’m sure you’ll want soon.” Gently he nuzzled at Crowley’s hand with a small smile. At the mention of being uncomfortable Derek shook his head. He was always comfortable around Crowley, just not when he was naked.

When his master walked off, Derek sighed. This was closer quarters so he wouldn’t be able to continue acting strange especially if Crowley was going to be so perceptive. Quickly, he moved into the kitchen and plated food, knowing his master would come out and eat with him after he was dressed. Derek was just popping open a bottle of Chardonnay when he saw Crowley appear, looking like his usual self. “Everything is ready Master, please sit and enjoy.”

“Mhhhh, where have you been all this time?” Crowley chuckled. His words held no judgement, no guilt. Just pure adoration. He was enjoying himself plenty. At least here, he felt somewhat like a King again. He enjoyed the attention far too much. He let the other wash him, leaning back and forth as needed, letting out a few pleased sounds.

“I’m sure I am, pup. Thank you. Now help me wash my hair and get out of the tub, will you?”

Derek smiled a little and shrugged softly. “I’ve always been close by Master.” It was true, since he was young Derek stayed almost attached to the demon.

The noises were distracting Derek and he almost didn’t hear a single word spoken. He canted his head but nodded softly, retrieving shampoo and softly thought quickly washing Crowley’s hair. Once he was done rinsing the soap away, Derek stood, looking away as he helped his master stand and step from the water. A towel was quickly offered as his face stayed looking away out of shame of the way his thoughts were manifesting. “Your suits are in the closet sir, all of your favorites. I’ll help you to the room then leave if you wish to enjoy your finest fabrics alone.”

“You’re precious.” Crowley chuckled softly, carding a hand through Derek’s hair again when he knelt down by his side. “You can scrub my back if you want to.” He hummed, splashing some with the water.

It felt good, being free. Pretty good. And he wouldn’t go back. Not without putting up a fight.

Derek leaned into the touch, having missed it more than he would ever admit aloud. “Of course,” he said happily, finding a wash cloth close by. Slowly his hand dipped into the water, watching himself carefully so that he didn’t touch. Despite the want to. It was improper and Derek had to remember that.

“Lean forward sir,” he murmured, soaping the rag and waiting. Then he was gently washing his master, making sure he was comfortable and clean. He took his time washing the skin above water before dipping his hand and the rag further down to stop just before his master’s backside. “You should be plenty clean now Master.”

“That sounds amazing, pup.” Crowley chirped, excited to have a taste after his bath. When Derek returned, he wound legs around his waist. “You can stay or leave, I don’t mind.” He purred, smiling softly. He slowly unwound from him and slid off the counter to stand, holding onto Derek until he found his footing again.

Crowley pulled off his shirt and kicked off his pants. Then, he walked around the other and climbed into the tub, groaning in delight at the warmth surrounding his body. “This, pup, this is Heaven.”

He had been surprised by his Master’s legs around him but the feeling was one he seemed to enjoy. Derek was going to voice that maybe he should go but then Crowley was standing and so he stayed close by. A blush covered his cheeks as he watched his master undress and make noises.

“Thank you sir. Only the most perfect can be allowed for you Master,” he said quietly, moving to kneel by the tub. “Would you like to soak or shall I help you wash?”

“Dinner?” Crowley hummed in interest. “Perfect, I’m starving.” Not that he’d usually admit to such a human thing, but for one he knew Derek would never dare tell anybody else and secondly, he knew it was only temporary. And he could live with that. Soon, he’d be back to normal. And then, then he’d start on getting Hell back. Hell was his. He’d fight for it.

“Oh Hell no, I’ll never again NOT wear a suit.” Crowley chuckled softly. At least for a while. He missed the feeling against his skin, the soft and yet firm fabric touching his skin. If he didn’t know better, he’d claim Derek treated him like a child. Or a girlfriend, settling him down on that counter, but then again Derek was taller than him and broader. And yet… he worshipped him like no other. The kisses were welcome and Crowley scratched behind his Hound’s ears. “Yours will do, pup.” A nod.

Derek smiled at Crowley. “I made chicken stuffed with cheese and ham bits, some potato wedges and corn on the cob. It’s really good.” It made him secretly happy that Crowley would smell like him after this bath. When the tub was at the right amount, Derek turned off the water and eased back to his master. “Would you like me to leave so you can undress Master?” Derek didn’t want him to think he didn’t have privacy. Plus while master soaked the hound could fetch his clothes and finish dinner so that it was ready for when he was done.

[ ]      Crowley couldn’t keep the smile off his face when Derek returned to his side. When he kneeled, he wanted to tell him not to, but instead he slid a hand into his Hound’s hair, scratching his head. “Yes, that’d be great. Those are.. hideous.” He made a face. Those clothes hurt more than any wounds. “I do have to clean up first.” He wouldn’t have it any other way.

“I know you can.” He chuckled, “I’d simply prefer being able to walk on my own.” He flailed softly when picked up, chuckling at the kisses, “I love you, too, darling.” The demon grinned, bumping his forehead against Derek’s. “Do I smell FOOD on you?”

Derek's tail would have wagged like a helicopter if it had been present. A happy master was a happy hound. At the comment of food, Derek blushed a little. "I was making you dinner Master. You need to eat to regain your strength." He wouldn't let Crowley not become the strongest demon he'd ever known. He had to help him heal. Even if it was without his powers.

Slowly, the hound started walking toward the bathroom. "I'll draw you a bath and help you to wash sir. Then I'll get one of your favorite suits out. Unless you'd like some pajamas, so that you can rest comfortably?" He offered, settling Crowley on a counter to sit. Gently the hound nuzzled and kissed at Crowley's face again before he moved away to start the bath water. "I don't have soaps that you prefer, just my own. I hope that's okay. If not I will get you some as fast as I can."

[ ]       Crowley slept peacefully for some time, then he started shuffling softly and at some point he was tossing and turning and when he opened his eyes, there was nobody there but him. For a split second, he feared he was back and he felt his heart rate speed up, hammering in his chest. But it was too bright, too soft. He brushed a hand through his hair and shrugged off that ridiculous hawaiian shirt.

“Derek?” He glanced around, slowly sitting up. “What are you up to?” He knew he probably heard him. He tried to stand, but his legs didn’t yet want to cooperate, so he sat back down, grumbling quietly.

Derek's ears twitched softly as he heard Crowley call his name. He set down the plates he'd been about to put food on then headed back to the bedroom. "Master," he said softly, moving to crouch in front of the former king of hell. "Would you like something more fitting to wear?" Derek asked, having some of Crowley's clothes in his dresser and closet.

His hands softly pet his master's legs as he smiled softly at him. "You don't have to move Master. I'm strong enough to carry you where you'd like to go." Derek certainly didn't mind it at all. He was a very strong hound, one of the strongest. To make his point, he easily picked Crowley up and pressed soft kisses to his face. It was an instinct to show his master affection to convey his loyalty and dedication to Crowley.

“I was…hoping you wouldn’t, but I would’ve understood.” Crowley smiled softly. Lucifer could kill them. Demons, angels, hellhounds. They were cockroaches compared to the Archangel. And he understood they didn’t want to die. He didn’t blame them. And he respected Derek even more now. “I’ll be fine, pup.” Now that he was away from Lucifer and HELL

Crowley curled up on his side, enjoying the warmth of his hound so close; enjoying the feel of another’s body so close, the steady beat of a heart. His eyes were drooping, Crowley drifting off to sleep.

Derek felt awful for Crowley. He didn't want to imagine what it had been like in that cage under Lucifer's foot. He probably would have found a way to off himself if it had been him. The hound pushed the thoughts away as he woke slowly. It'd been a few hours and he needed to make dinner for his master.

Slowly he slipped from the bed after a quick nuzzle to Crowley's temple. Derek made sure to tuck the warm parts of the blanket that had been around him close to his master so he wouldn't notice yet that Derek had left. Easily he started puttering around the kitchen, keeping an ear out for Crowley if he woke.

Crowley wouldn’t allow just anybody to see him like this. Battered and broken, holding onto thin thread. But Derek.. well, he was Crowley’s first. The first vicious little pup he’d taken into his home. And apparently the first and only of his Hounds who knew how to cook. Why hadn’t he had him cook earlier? It was nice. Gums swollen and aching, Crowley could only eat slowly, but steadily so. He ate as much as his stomach requested, then shook his head.

The demon curled up on his side afterwards, a content sigh escaping when Derek joined him. “I should’ve treated you better.” He hummed, brushing a hand through the other’s hair. He couldn’t help it. “You’re the only one who’s still loyal to me.”

Derek frowned softly and shook his head. "You've treated me just fine Master. I would never abandon you for the likes of Lucifer." Of course some of them had been killed for their loyalty, but Derek didn't want to stress Crowley so he didn't mention it. Besides he truly was the only living and loyal hound left. "Quiet now Master. Save your strength."

The hound softly nuzzled Crowley again, trying to lull him to sleep. Once Derek was sure the King was resting, he closed his eyes. Derek stayed alert, tuned into the sounds around them. He would protect the man who had kept him cared for since he was a baby. It probably made no sense to some but Derek would die saving Crowley before he bowed to another Master.

“We’ll find a way to get them off.” Crowley announced in a hushed voice that barely carried through the room. Not even close to the strength it used to have. “I’m as comfortable as can be, love.” Crowley smiles softly, reaching out to very very gently scratch the other’s head. He didn’t move a lot while Derek disinfected cuts and other wounds, but he knew he wouldn’t be able to do much for the inner damage (which hurt the worst) or the bruises.

Well that was nice. Crowley was propped up on pillows and blankets and when Derek walked away, he carefully burrowed into them, just resting some while he waited. He wasn’t tired per se, just… drained. He smiled softly when Derek returned, a little miffed he would be stuck with human needs again, but then again, he could be worse. Still stuck in that kennel of horrors.

“I’m fine, darling. Come join your master.” He didn’t want to be alone.

Slowly he moved further onto the bed with the food in his hands. “Eat a little please, then I’ll stay with you while you rest.” It was a slow process but Derek was able to feed Crowley almost all of the soup and and half the sandwich. He was happy Crowley drank all the tea though.

Putting the tray to the side, Derek moved closer to his Master, curling around him some and nuzzling him. Derek had missed Crowley greatly. “You should sleep Master. I’ll protect you.” Not that anyone would be able to find him. A witch had owed him a favor and he’d warded this place to the teeth. Not even the Winchesters would find them.

“Shhhhh.” Crowley attempted to lift his hand so he could put a finger against his lips, but they were chained to the ground, so he tumbled forwards awkwardly and rustled with the chains instead. The movement hurt and he regretted trying to warn the other right away. “What are you doing here?” Crowley hissed ever so softly, glancing around. He didn’t see anybody else.

Once Derek had the kennel door basically ripped off, Crowley shuffled away. Oh no, if they were caught he was dead. He didn’t get through the last… how long had it been? He didn’t know, but he did know it wouldn’t end with him dying. No way. The collar and chains came off easier than he thought and a hand came to his throat to touch as he swallowed. Ah. “You really think nobody’s going to notice?” Crowley frowned, his voice soft and barely above a whisper. He wasn’t supposed to speak. Lucifer didn’t appreciate loud sounds. Well, Lucifer didn’t appreciate anything to be honest.

The trip was surprisingly easy and Crowley had no idea how Derek had done it. And he should know as Derek was HIS Hellhound. Always and forever, he swore as much when he was born. The bed… was what Crowley imagined Heaven to be like. Of course he couldn’t say for sure, but it definitely felt like it. “Don’t– touch.” Crowley hissed softly, sitting upright on the bed. “Insurance on.. the sigils.” Get them off and Crowley would burn.

Derek pulled his hands away, breaking his attempt at healing his Master. “Yes sir,” he said softly with a nod. He moved around some, compiling his first aid supplies. Crowley was painfully human for now and Derek wanted to clean him up some before he rested. “I just want to make sure you are comfortable.” The hell hound was gentle and loving as he took care of the wounds.

Then he was gathering blankets and pillows to surround Crowley and make him a nest of sorts. “Rest, sir. I’ll get you some food and drink. I’m sorry I didn’t find you sooner.” Derek felt so bad that he wasn’t quick enough or prepared enough to have been able to stop this from happening at all.

Quickly, Derek made soup, sandwiches and some tea for Crowley. He carefully brought them back to his Master on a tray. “Do you need something for pain Master?” He asked, sitting on the bed, holding the tray for Crowley.

The kennel was the worst.

Crowley knew he deserved it, he knew his master had been right to lock him up again, but it was still uncomfortably tight in there. He was chained to the ground, collars and bound to the wall, so moving required quite a lot of effort. He’d just flopped onto his front, his arms in front of him since he couldn’t exactly move them much and his knees were bent as he laid there, hunched over and watching

The gag in his mouth kept him from speaking, the sigils etched into his skin from smoking out and healing. He was battered and broken, but he was alive. Crowley had been convinced Lucifer was going to kill him. This was worse. He heard footsteps approach and whined softly.

Things were hell. Well... Worse than Hell because Derek knew what Hell was like and he liked it the way Crowley had it. But now Lucifer was back and Derek was hiding. Just because he was a hell hound didn’t mean he would roll over for just anyone. Especially Lucifer who didn’t know how to treat them.

So Derek went under ground and searched endlessly for Crowley. He needed his master and he could feel the man needed him too. It took him some time but Derek finally found out where Crowley was being kept. It was unbelievably easy for him to sneak past the guards and wards. He shifted as soon as he found Crowley, so he could speak to him.

“Master,” he said, eyes bright red as brute strength pried the kennel open. “I’m going to get you out of here.” It took him a few moments but he finally freed Crowley from the chains and collar so he could pull him free and into his arms. “We’ll hide. I promise you’ll be safe. I’ll help you heal,” he murmured softly, carrying Crowley discreetly from the building and quickly to a get away car to head to Derek’s hide out in the middle of nowhere woods.

He brought Crowley in and settled him on his bed. “It’s going to be okay sir.” Derek gently began to clean Crowley’s wounds and try to heal the sigils away.
