DETAILS For one of our final projects, we had to create something based off a Britain Literature. Our group chose Beowulf and the professor asked we did it based off the Anglo Saxon period which Beowulf took place in. For our project, we chose a Monopoly inspired game board. Although everything was changed to incorporate Anglo Saxon into it graphic wise. So for the money, we looked online and could only find pirate coins. So we took Anglo Saxon coins and vectored them, printed them, laminated them, and cut them out. We tried to get it to the closest size we could to coins of that time. The image represents some of the coins as well as how they came out afterwards.

DETAILS: So while at a fashion show, I was asked if I could do illustrations for a publishing house which was going to be opening soon. They mentioned liking the look of watercolor. I'll be honest, I'm more of an acrylic kind of person and never touched watercolor so I offered to do some mock ups first before starting on illustrations. She had 5 examples and this was the outcome of the first for a future book.

The mock up of the first book cover. ((Image on front will be updated and will be sharper. Bad quality on the image is due to the cellphone used to take it. New shot will be taken by camera.

If you are an illustrator and would like to help the young author's bring their books to life as an artist, please feel free to contact the publishing house with queries.

DETAILS A client requested a countdown style of advertisement for their new website launch. So we took their stock archive and created a countdown scenario of up to 7 days in a square dimension so it also worked with social medias like instagram.

DETAILS So for this class assignment, we had to come up with two book covers. One via photography and one using abstract shapes of a book which was all ready in existence as a mock up cover. For this one, I did a representation of the characters. I all ready liked the color scheme of the original cover so tried to stay fairly close to it. It was winter setting with a castle and lights within the windows of yellow to break up the cool colors. It's a vampire inspired book with the classic vampires instead of the contemporary vampires. The large blue circles representing the antagonist or father of the protagonist. The smaller blue circle, his underling. The yellow series of circles represents the protagonist as a sort of light in the dark cold environment in the book. The smaller yellow circle represents her lover and companion. The antagonist all ways between the two. The square in the background is a representation of the castle which is the goal within the book. It turned out to be an interesting practice assignment. I would recommend the book. I happened to be reading it when I got the assignment so it is why I picked it.

The photography focuses on a slightly modern day version of the girl from the book. I’ve still got to work on the effects but I had about 5 minutes before class for it.

DETAILS I agreed to exchange these shots for helping with an assignment for Angel's portfolio. We wanted to do something different and work on an on location scene. Unfortunately I was pressed for time so we found one close to a darkroom for this particular shoot. DETAILS In exchange for shooting a class assignment, I told Antoine and Alyssa I would do some more fashion editorial shots for their portfolio. One requested to shoot with the other model since it would be something new, so we found a location with a lot of lines and a splash of color. We ended up with this result. A clean editorial piece with evenly distributed lighting across the models. It was a nice relief to shoot something commercial to break up the fine art style (which I'm not used to) from the past two semesters.

DETAILS So on this I shot with a model friend on a class assignment. Although instead of exchanging shots for her portfolio, she wanted shots of her daughter and family. I'm not good with working on poses of children so this was definitely something new as far as experimental on the spot shooting. It turned out decent even if mainly face shots.

DETAILS While shooting for a project for school, we found a red room which controlled all the electrical devices. So we had to go back afterwards before our time was up and shoot in it. I never really used a natural red fluorescent light as a lighting source before so it was more an experimental style shoot. The flash I had cancelled out the red so we went with natural light and a slightly high ISO. In the end, I do like the contrast and how the light brightened only certain aspects of the model leaving a bit of negative space around him.

Updating and new Castings

Forgive the uploads which will be added this week. I didn't realize I was that far behind on updates to my website. About 40 different works or so.

Big things in the making for next year. I've fallen behind on publications and submissions to galleries and to commercial ads so I'm going to try to make up for it next semester. If any models, muas, hs, or artists are on board for this for your resume, please message me. Some projects will be paid as well but I have to use December to figure out which ones. Anyway, message me if interested.

DETAILS In exchange for one of my assignments for Computer Graphics, we did the portraiture style photo shoot for our client. It was a little breath of fresh air after all the project shoots to go with natural lighting and back to portraits for a while.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Stone Barrier

Stone Barrier delves into a person’s ability to create a wall between themselves and the outside world. Those with this barrier tend to be silent, their mouths unmoving, much like a statue until they become comfortable enough with another person.

When I think of a facade and the silent statue, it reminds me of late Greek style statues. Greek style sculptors paid attention to the smaller details (curvature, lines, and form) of a statue to the point it looked as if it would come alive and show the true colors of its personality. The statue chips away that barrier to bring out it’s full potential to the world.
