Ok so the movie is cool and everything but I decided to just check the script to see any instances of "40" "27" or maybe even something about "kra", I had no luck at any of that, the only thing that could've maybe been was that page 40 is the scene when Holmes assures Watson that he shouldn't worry about the rumors cause he has plenty of women who could confirm that, then Watson says that Holmes does too to which Sherlock doesn't reply, Watson asks if he has had women on his life and Sherlock basically says no lol
I don't think that's it tho, I don't know what else to do here... any thoughts?

We all know at this point that the thelostspecial.com site might turn out to be fanmade and we don't even know if this anon is a troll or not but DARN IT I HAVEN'T BURIED MYSELF THIS DEEP INTO THIS CONSPIRACY TO STOP NOW SO YOU WILL LISTEN TO ME AND HELP ME GET SOMEWHERE, I KNOW YOU ARE ALL TIRED BUT IT IS 3 IN THE MORNING HERE AND I'M NOT GONNA IGNORE THIS
So anyway, most people are thinking that August 1887 is referencing A Study in Scarlet's publication date, which is a very fair guess, my problem with this is that I couldn't find anywhere the specific date/month that it got published. But since we know it was printed in Beeton's Christmas Annual then I'd say August is a very unlikely date....
So I say that rules out A Study in Scarlet.
Digging up a little further, though, I found out that The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes is ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO TAKE PLACE IN AUGUST 1887! I haven't seen a better connection so far, and we KNOW for a fact that Moftiss took a lot of inspiration from that movie, so the "Go back to the source. The real source" kinda lines up as well. Did Gatiss ever said that that movie was more of an inspiration for him than ACD or am I imagining things? I don't remember
I've never seen the movie before so I don't really know what this could mean or where the 40 comes in, I tried going to the 40 minute mark but nothing particularly stood out. I'm gonna watch it but if anybody else has any ideas please let us know!
ARGs are my life but feel like this one is not very well done, so far at least

“I would like you to change our dry cleaners,” Adrien said decisively. “My red slacks have been getting less and less red lately and I’m afraid that’s simply unacceptable.”
“Yes sir,” Nathalie said, hiding her smile behind a coffee cup. “I’ll take care of it as soon as I can.”
“See that you do,” Adrien said, sipping his orange juice thoughtfully. “I’m not paying them to turn my cherry slacks into rose refugees from a Devo music video. It’s completely unacceptable.”
“Completely unacceptable, sir,” Nathalie agreed, flicking through her tablet absently.
“Completely unacceptable,” Adrien echoed. “Incidentally, do tell me when Adrien’s fencing meet is so I can schedule a meeting with our investors at the same time.”
“Already taken care of,” Nathalie said, reorganizing Gabriel’s schedule with a few deft flicks of her fingers so a gaping hole appeared from four to five.
“Excellent,” Adrien said with a firm nod. “Now, onto the subject of the forthcoming trip to China-”
The dining room door opened, cutting Adrien off as his father strode in, taking his place at the head of the table as Nathalie and Adrien immediately pretended to be engrossed in their paper and tablet respectively.
“Good morning father,” Adrien said, taking a sip of his orange juice.
“Good morning, Mr. Agreste,” Nathalie said, taking a small sip of her coffee.
“Adrien; Nathalie,” Gabriel said, eyes roaming over the pair of them for a moment before opening the business section. “…oh, before I forget Nathalie, I need you to change our dry-cleaners-”
Gabriel flinched back, paper rising to protect himself from the sprays of orange juice and coffee that sprayed from Adrien and Nathalie’s noses.
