She relaxed a bit when he stepped back, seeing that he was trying to give her some space. She kept her hand on the Soldier as she gave a small nod of answer. She held her inhaler up for him to see.
“We-we needed to get this.” She stammered softly. Jenna looked between the two, biting her lip anxiously. “He-he’s keepin’ me safe.” She murmured, likely too quietly for any non-super soldiers to hear.

Well, this was certainly unexpected. Still, Steve couldn’t say he was unhappy with how Bucky had handled things. He was worried the soldier would still view people as more like objects unless they had some authority. The way the asset thought and the way he remembered his friend thinking were very different. “I’m glad,” he nodded. “And you have a room?”

Why was Steve asking these things? Did he think the soldier could not handle one target? Pushing down the useless emotion, he blinked once in surprise. The target had…stated he was doing well. “Thank you,” he stated on reflex. Always say those words when something nice is done, that was one of the compound rules.

Jenna smiled at the unexpected thanks from the Soldier, giving him a small nod. She supposed to understood why the captain was asking these questions - the Soldier had only recently been released form HYDRA and she was sure he was getting used to life outside HYDRA still.

"'Ve got a room." Jenna nodded. "We got here last night." She added as an explanation. Maybe that would help - knowing that she had been retrieved a day earlier and the Soldier had kept her safe the whole time.

Faye smiled as she made her way down to the Med bay. she had just come back onboard ship and as such it was deemed necessary for the Intelligence officer to get a check up , that and she had been shot in the shoulder but she had worse.

" alright doc " she said as she saw the ships doctor and gave him a wave before wincing and holding her shoulder in pain

Faye smiled and looked at the other with a cheeky grin ’ hmmm I might have to try and do that next time I’m due reports from him “ she said with a laugh and then nodded ” hmmm racing is fun “ she admitted as she looked at the other "and besides he will be fine he has you go patch him up ”

“Fer now.” He snorted a bit. “One o’ these days he’s gonna get himself banged up when I ain’t around to help him, and then what’s gonna happen? No one else is fool enough to keep up with all the shenanigans he gets himself into.”

Jenna shrank back a bit when he turned to her, reaching up with one hand to hold onto the back of the Soldier’s top. She knew she probably shouldn’t be scared of him - he was Captain America! - but she was still nervous with him being so close.
“H-hello…” She stammered nervously, looking up at him wide eyed. “I’m-I’m okay.” She wheezed a bit, squeezing her inhaler tighter. She tried to focus on keeping her breathing calm, taking a couple shallow breaths to try and keep herself stable.

Seeing how distressed she was, Steve took a step back from her. “I’m glad you’re okay.” Really, he wasn’t sure how delicate Bucky could be right now. He knew how to be careful with weapons, but not so much people. “Have you had enough to eat? Have you seen a doctor?”

The soldier knew he was not meant to feel, but to have Steve question his ability to care for a target was…insulting? “I am capable of ensuring the health of the target.”

Jenna peaked out from behind Bucky nervously as they were approached, watching as Captain America walked closer. He was taller up close - and bigger. Between the Soldier and the Captain, she felt smaller than she had ever felt. She clutched the inhaler the medical staff had given her tightly in her hand, doing her best to keep calm and not end up having an asthma attack.
She looked behind the Captain, trying to see if any of the other Avengers would also come over. It didn’t look like they had noticed the Soldier had someone with him yet, but she had a feeling once they realized it they’d be coming over too.

The soldier continued to stare at Steve, waiting and watching and wondering if he was going to be punished for his independent thought. Some handlers wanted him to think about the mission and others only wanted him to obey. However, Steve had said many times that he was not a handler, but a ‘friend’. The asset was still unsure as to what that meant, perhaps a gentler form of handler. Yes, that seemed right.

“I can see that,” Steve replied, then turned to Jenna. “Hello.” He smiled to her, trying to be comforting. “Are you hurt?” He loved his friend dearly, but he had noticed sometimes Bucky didn’t know his own strength. Or, no, that wasn’t quite right. His friend was aware. It was more that he didn’t seem to understand that not all missions required extreme force.

Jenna let him lead her, looking around nervously as they got closer to where the Avengers would meet them. The closer they got, the more nervous she got. She found herself looking for ways out in case things went bad. She could always try to hide, she figured. She saw a lot of spaces she could hide if she needed to, places most people probably couldn’t fit.
She glanced back towards him as they walked. Was he nervous, too? She still didn’t know why he had come for her, what the Avengers could want with her.

Steve had just walked into the base when he saw Bucky. Good, good. His friend was here. Tony had been getting on him about acting like a mother hen and being so concerned that he would just up and leave, never to be seen again. Bucky had gone out sometimes and Sam had told him to just wait. Each and every time, his friend had returned. What worried Steve now was the person who was clearly with the other man. “Buck,” he began carefully, “who’s that?” He was sure he knew, but he wanted to hear it from Bucky.

The soldier stopped about ten feet from his new handler- friend, friend. “I retrieved the target.” He stated. If he had been more independent and sarcastic, a tone of ‘isn’t that obvious’ would have slipped into his words. As it was, he could not do so.

She smiled “ hmmm it’s not all bad this ship just seems to find trouble ” she said with a bright smile and nodded “ sure , and I do hope so , ” she comments “I’m not really a large group people person , I prefer intimate interactions ”

“Me too, darlin’.” He smiled, motioning for her to lead the way. “Too many people just gives me a headache. And I know I sure ain’t the only one on board who gets ‘em when there’s too many people.”

Faye smiled and found a nice spot where they could sit and watch the stars shoot past them and enjoy the picnic he prepared along with the company . " Hmmm yeah I agree with you on that one , though I do have to socialise at some point " she smiled "otherwise I'd be quite happy locked in a room, and well that gets boring " she said with a small laugh

“In my room with a good book. Or a new medical journal.” He chuckled a bit. “But ye’re right, socialization is important even for introverts. It’s insanely important fer extroverts like Jim.”

Faye chucckled " hmmm ohhh what's your favourite book , and medical journals are quite interesting " she admitted . " Hmmm especially for our dear old captain " she admitted with a bright smile .

“I know it’ll probably be shockin’, but I like old books, like the original Dracula.” He answered with a smile. He chuckled softly, setting their food out and pouring their drinks. “Our manchild captain.”

She smiled and nodded " hmmm it's not shocking , some of those ancient classics are good" she admitted "and alot of them are more inventive than what we get these days , I mean some of the sci-fi stuff is kinda funny especially since it's what we do " she smiled

"hmmm manchild ?, Ohhh why do I get the feeling you say that to his face and would get away with it too " she admitted with a light laugh . Before thanking him for the drink .

"Because I do say it to his face, regularly." He chuckled. "He hates admitting I'm right in callin' him that, but it's hard to argue when he gets in sock races when he's off shift." He shook his head a bit. "One o' these days either he or whoever he gets to race him is gonna end up in a full body cast fer a few days."

Nadi went to visit sickbay for her annual checkup. She tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. She was a little excited to see the doctor, she knew she shouldn't. But seeing Leo always made her feel happy and giddy.

Leonard smiled when he saw her come in, motioning her over to a biobed.

"Mornin', darlin'. How ya feelin' today?"

Jenna followed close behind, realizing as they headed inside just how cold she was. Her hands must have felt like ice to him - his hand felt like a warm flame wrapped around hers. She looked up at the ceiling as they walked in, straining her ears to listen for the sound of the quinjet landing. She couldn’t hear it, but she was pretty sure she had heard that it was a stealth plane, so maybe she shouldn’t hear it anyway.
“Are we gonna meet ‘em as they come in?” She asked, letting him lead her wherever he was heading. She trusted that he was leading her somewhere safe -  he had kept her safe so far.

Her hand was fine enough. The asset was used to cold things so they did not bother him very much. As they walked inside, he moved toward where the Avengers were most likely to enter from the jet. “Yes.” He stated. That was the most efficient. They had said they needed this target and he had retrieved her. The mission had not been his though. This thought made him nervous as he was far more used to obeying than not.

Would they be angry with him? Even when Steve was upset, he never behaved as HYDRA handlers had. That gave the asset some comfort. Even if he was wrong, he would not be handled in the same way.

Jenna let him lead her, looking around nervously as they got closer to where the Avengers would meet them. The closer they got, the more nervous she got. Jenna looked up at the sky as the sound of the quinjet reached her, squinting her eyes in an attempt to find the well-known jet in the sky. She could make out a shape coming in, but it was too high up still for her to make out.
“Are-are we gonna go meet them?” She asked, shivering as the wind blew in response to the quinjet flying over. He was right about the cold - it had gotten colder the longer it had snowed and was certainly getting too cold for her. She wondered if the landing pad was on top of or inside one of the buildings. Inside would be warmer.

He nodded. The jet was coming and that meant the others would be stepping out soon. “They will land and then enter.” It would be better for the target if they went inside to meet the Avengers. Humans grew cold easily. He knew Steve would likely be fine, but the others would not.

Taking her hand in his flesh one, he began walking back into the compound. “The landing area is on top of the building.” Maybe that was useful to the target. He did not know.

Jenna paused at the question, pursing her lips. She’d never had time to think about making pretty things herself.
“No, but I think I’d like to.” She answered after a moment of thought. “I’ve never really had time to make pretty things before…” Maybe if she got to stay on the compound, she might be able to try something like that. “I think I’d like to try paintin’, though. It looks fun…I think.” It could also be messy, but she was pretty sure that paint could be cleaned up pretty easily.

Painting… The asset knew what painting was, knew the basic idea of how to do it, but had never tried himself. Why would he? There was no tactical advantage in knowing how to paint and, for him, if there was no mission advantage, then it was a useless skill. He was still unsure as to the use of knowing how to make snowmen.

“It is cold. You will become ill.” While he was used to being cold, humans were not and needed protection when their body temperature dropped. Looking up, he heard the distant sound of the quinjet. “They are returning.”

“It kinda depends on the person.” She hummed softly, trying to decide how she determined pretty things. “I like soft, bright colors and nature, but some people might not. I think I heard Cap’n America used to be an artist, so he might like pretty things like nature.” She mused. If she could paint, she’d love to paint pretty landscapes.
“Ya could ask him when ya see him.” She smiled brightly at him. “I’m guessin’ we’re gonna be seein’ him at some point today.” She knew he’d planned on bringing her to someone eventually, she assumed by the way he spoke that that person would be Steve.

This must be another very human thing. Defining ‘tasty’ had been difficult and each of the Avengers had given him different responses when he had asked about what ‘tasty food’ was. Artist…yes, that sounded familiar. Steve had shown him many drawings that he said were of people they had once known.

He nodded once. They would see the Avengers. “They will return soon,” he answered. That much he knew. “Do you create ‘pretty’ things?” Was that the right question?

Jenna paused at the question, pursing her lips. She’d never had time to think about making pretty things herself.

Faye gave a bright smile at that “ you are most welcome doc ” she turned seeing the captain getting dragged in she nodded “ ok don’t be too long , I don’t like to be kept waiting ” she teased with a wink as she got up flashing him a bright smile before nodding to the captain “ captain ” she said as she breezed past .

Jim froze at the interaction, visibly more interested in what that interaction had been than getting his physical. Leonard groaned at the shit-eating grin that passed his friends face.

“Faye.” He greeted back a bit too eagerly, looking between the two.

“Jim, I swear to God if ya start somethin’, I’m endin’ it!” Leonard growled at the look on his face.

She smiled and nodded politely to the captain but kept walking though she heard the light threat that the doctor gave to the captain and she had to walk a little quicker so that she did not get caught laughing at the situation .

She headed up to her room and at the doctor's request she set an alarm so that she would wake up with enough time to get ready and be there on time to meet him . She shifted and lay on the bed resting letting the days adventure wash over her and let the adrenaline fade .

By the time his shift was over, Leonard was more than ready to have a couple drinks. He went back to his quarters, taking a shower so that he didn’t bring anything from medbay with him and changing into his civvies. He fixed his hair quickly, making sure it wasn’t flying all over the place, and put together a quick basket with some food. He figured simple foods, some sandwiches to choose from, cheese and crackers, would be good. He added some desserts, wanting to make sure they had enough to eat.

He carried the basket up to the observation deck, standing by the window while he waited for her. They were several nebulas visible, some closer and some barely visible.

Faye smiled as she got ready . She showered making Sure she smelt clean and fresh and her hair hung lossely down her back as she dried it . She put on some of her more civilion styles clothing. She wore a pair of tight jeans and a nice looking shirt that she tied so it showed off her mid riff . She grabbed a couple of expensive looking bottles of booze and then made her way to the observation deck . Working to avoid other members of the crew not wanting to be delayed .

She walked in and smiled as she saw him standing by the window . She walked over and stood next to him " it's amazing isn't it ?, Beautiful even " she said with a smile she always marvelled at the views when she got the chance.

“Yeah.” Leonard nodded in agreement, smiling at her. “I suppose space ain’t all bad. Just don’t tell Jim I said that.” He chuckled a bit. He held up the basket he had put together. “Should we set up? Pretty sure we’ll be the only ones here at this time, everyone else is either on shift, sleepin’, or down in the rec.”

“Purpose?” Jenna paused in thought, watching the snow fall and her breath fog in the air. She wasn’t sure there was a purpose to being pretty. She’d never seen the point in pretty before leaving Boston, staying alive had been more important. Even in New York, she spent more time focusing on trying to stay alive and keep hidden than looking at pretty things.
“Pretty things…make ya happy.” She answered softly. “Especially when ya haven’t been able to enjoy pretty things much. Ya spend so much time just tryin’ not to get killed, lookin’ at pretty things doesn’t seem important until ya can finally…stop fer a minute and just look.”

Make ya happy…Was that correct. It seemed like something humans would enjoy. Perhaps he would be able to gather ‘pretty’ things for Steve and the Avengers. “How is ‘pretty’ determined?” If he knew that, then he would more efficiently be able to gather what he needed. Was this a good mission? He had never thought very much about ‘good’ versus ‘bad’ missions. They were merely assignments that he was meant to complete.

“Will Steve enjoy these things?” Some part of him knew that making Steve happy was a good thing. However, the snowman could not be brought inside or it would melt and cause a mess. What else could be done? Perhaps Steve could be brought outside to witness it.

“It kinda depends on the person.” She hummed softly, trying to decide how she determined pretty things. “I like soft, bright colors and nature, but some people might not.
