( I am so happy I maxed out my Splatfest points-- I'd keep playing to help the other Dog team members, but wow I'm sore from work. I'm happy I got to be Dog King before getting off though! )
The girl giggled some, “Of course I did. I wouldn’t lie to ya.” she told him. He did have a nice voice, it was light and filled the air nicely.
Letting out an accidental squeak, he covers his mouth as he grins really widely. “Th-Thank you! V-Very much!” He can’t help giggling for a moment before calming himself. “I’m... I wasn’t sure if anyone would like my singing, I... I-I wanna be really good some day...” Nodding, he plays with his tentacles again, smiling a little less bashfully now as his cheeks lost a little bit of redness.
“I’m Tesla.” She gazed at his face and noted the red in his face and the way he seemed to nervously shift some. “Its nice to meet you.”
“It’s... It’s nice to meet you too, T-Tesla.” Smiling awkwardly, he moves his hands to pull his tentacles forward, tugging on them a little in bashfulness. “Uhm... Did you... r-really mean it? About the singing I-I mean...”
“Ohh, I’m so ready for splat fest!!” Bouncing a little as he rummaged around in his room untl he found his splatfest tee, pulling it on along with his regular swim trunks and a wrap around skirt that matched his tee. He was proudly fighting for Marie’s team, not because he preferred Marie over Callie ( in reality, he wasn’t biased for either-- they’re both incredibly cool to him, ) but instead because Marie usually sported the team he favored more.
“All the glowing and fireworks, and just... ahh!” Bouncing a little more, he hums and fixes the black around his eyes before he set out, feeling particularly excited due to the fact it would be taking place majority at night. This meant he would be more capable of perhaps even conversing with other inklings... Hopefully, and he crossed his tentacles on it.
A grin spread on the girl’s face as she looked at him, “You’re good at that, anyone ever tell you that?” she asked as she moved closer to him, “What’s your name?”
“A-Ahh...” Covering his face a moment, he sputters, cheeks getting stupidly red. “N-No, uhm... I-I’m usually too... t-too shy about singing...” Swallowing, he nodded, then slipping off the ledge he was sitting on, so that he was at eye level with her. “I’m... I-I’m Nowaki.” Nodding, he looks to her shyly. “Uhm... Wh-What’s yours?”
( Headcanon #1; Nowaki really likes singing, mostly ever since he was influenced by seeing a few Squid Sister concerts on TV when he was around 12 or 13. Ever since then, he’s been practicing singing and has worn his tentacles down, while adding little ink smudges to the black around his eyes so that he could be pretty like the Squid Sisters. )
Walking past and overhearing the other inkling, he glanced over curiously. Were they talking to anyone in particular? He wasn’t really sure, but curiosity got the better of his shyness. “Uhm... W-Were you... talking to someone?” He hoped it hadn’t been directed at him, because really, he wasn’t sure where that had come from. They didn’t even know each other, and whatever it was the other had said seemed a little out there. Well, out there in terms of just randomly hearing it on the streets.
The girl held herself back from giggling as she looked at the other, “Not really,” she said though she put a hand on her hip, “Wouldn’t mind you keep singing though.”
“A-Ah, you... r-really?” Sputtering a little nervously, getting incredibly red as the comment flustered him a bit. Feeling the tentacle still draped over his shoulder, he turned a little so he was facing the other inkling a little better from where he sat, taking a breath before continuing where he left off. “And the idea of something, binding us together! You know that love is strong enough-- I’ve seen time tell tales about that systematic drug~ Yeah, that heart that beats as one-- it’s collectively, unconsciously composed...” He trails off after quietly singing the first part, pursing his lips in embarrassment, mostly.

Humming to himself, he splashed some more ink on a wall, standing back as he held the inkbrush a little awkwardly. “On and on, reckless abandon...” Muttering lyrics under his breath while his SquidPod’s earbuds blared in his ears, drowning out whatever was going on around him. Of course, using a random building wall to practice his inkbrush skills after the practice areas closed probably wasn’t the best idea... Especially when he was about to bring the brush down on a passing inkling.
“E-Eep!” Dropping the weapon entirely, he swallowed and scrambled to pick it back up, then pulling his ear buds out after pausing his SquidPod. “I, uh, I’m sorry I a-almost hit you there-- Did I get any ink on y-you?”

Humming while his head bobbed a little, one earbud in his right ear while the other was free to listen if anyone came down the alley. “I've been in love with love...” Quietly singing a small chunk of the lyrics, he couldn’t help smiling to himself up until he noticed someone from his perch of sorts in the back alley. “A-Ah!” Fumbling with his SquidPod and tucking a tentacle behind a shoulder, he blinked owlishly at the audience of one he had garnered unknowingly. “Uhm... C-Can I help you?”
( /flops around in ink. I wanna play Splatoon, but I have no idea if my friend is gonna call me back on skype and I don’t wanna start a match and then they call me or something... frrrrrick. /splashes. Then again I also wanna RP Nowaki bb pre badly-- anyone wanna plot or something? Maybe start something?? Just hit me up in my ask box if so ahhh skjvndfkj )
Some day soon, I’ll be as bright as a shining star, but until that day, I’ll wait with baited breath for the one who leads the way.
( I wanted to practice backgrounds some again, and idk just wanted to draw Nowaki bby asvndfkjvk Coming up with squiddy themed clothing is fun though, and all the summer-esque clothes are fun to draw as well ahhh /falls over. I had fun trying to think of what his apartment place might look like though ehe. / v\ In regards to the blurb beneath the doodle, idk prbably something Nowaki’s scribbled in his journal before. /shrugs. )
