shit university students wear that movies do not prepare you for

  • plaid for days
  • pajamas that somehow manage to be A Look
  • somehow it’s the shoes that do it
  • pajamas that have absolutely no intention of being a look
  • obscure club merchandise
  • occasional weebs
  • unconventional hijab fabrics
  • seriously im 90% sure ive seen a girl wearing a snood. mad props bro
  • the Classic Engineering Student Look of jeans and runners
  • truly original international student fashion
  • bizarrely put-together outfits
  • looking at you, law students
  • the hoodie + hijab combo of greatness
  • shoes that are 10000% impractical for university
  • literally anything worn by an art student

8 thousand business major bros in navy blazers and khaki pants

Suits, suits everywhere when you’re a law student.

Really? As in, students wearing suits to classes? On a daily basis? That tells you something about their egos man

Not really. It’s smart and sensible, and for some people it helps them switch into ‘work’ mode.

It would probably seem weird to people who aren’t used to school uniforms, but here most people wear a blazer and tie to school (and a lot of sixth forms have introduced suits as their ‘uniform’/dress code for their students) so it just seems logical to continue.

That’s true, but, if I’m not wrong, katbelleinthedark was talking about students of a university in Poland, where school uniforms aren’t a thing in most schools, so the majority of people aren’t used to wearing this kind of outfits to classes. But I’m suspecting she might be talking about professors - I mean, at least I’ve never seen or heard about any college students aroud here wearing suits on a daily basis.

No, I mean students. My department, for example, is 50-50 guys in suits with huge egos (who think that studying law somehow makes them better) and guys who look like they’ve put on the closest clothes that didn’t smell bad.

A friend, who saw this post, told me that the suit/briefcase combo is a thing also at her university and that a friend of hers got asked out by a law student and, when she turned him down, she was offered his services. For 1000 zł.

I’m clearly missing out studying English. xD

Law school is WILD.

Lol, that’s a hilarious story. At my school you’ll see students around in suits if they have an interview or important meeting, but not generally as an every day thing. The first few weeks of class first year there were a lot of people in suits but that calmed down pretty quickly. There was one guy who wore them all semester, but he was also our gunner and dropped out after first semester, lol, so make of that what you will.

I’m in uni in Scotland and I can tell you there was some silent agreement among most of the boys in my Modern History module to wear suit jackets every Thursday, and then there’s this one guy who wears a suit/tweed jacket (depends on the day, I suppose) and one of those wool scarves that aren’t really warm on top of his sweater vest like this man has a LOOK going...

There’s a fellow in my modern history class who is flirting with me and it is confirmed that he is pretty much Charles Emerson Winchester III...
