Owen misses @amelia-hurricane-shepherd & I was counting on forever verse
ok ok i’m not saying you have to ask or anything before using the saying ‘soldier boy’ when rping owen but considering there are absolutely no edits or gif sets before mine that have referred to him as that....copying is not best flattery. it’s annoying. takes away any muse i have. and just sort of drains the fun out of rp.

“and here i was thinking you wouldn’t be the type to step down from being in charge.” a small laugh came out of her mouth with her words, making it known that she was only teasing him. the laughter died away however, at his question. she knew it would end up coming up, but teddy hadn’t prepared herself for the possibility of it popping up so soon. her face betrayed her, crease lines appearing on her forehead, as she looked down at the floor, trying to decide how much to clue him in on.
“it’s kind of a long story –” one of the oldest stalling excuses in the world, but this time it actually was a long story. “basically we had some people join us that shouldn’t have, it came back on me for not screening them better, and rather than being reprimanded and having it on my record, i offered my resignation. everybody won.” well, not everyone, but it was good for them, which meant she had to accept it. “but that doesn’t matter. what matters is i’m back. speaking of being back – have you talked to yang lately? how’s she enjoying her time in – where was it she went? switzerland? – i can’t believe she just up and left like that. there’s so many things that are different here now …”
‘it wasn’t my type of job. couldn’t focus on the things i wanted to focus on. and once i left for overseas it was kind of final that i would step down.--- and now. well now it gives me a chance to focus on my marriage with amelia. to focus on what’s really important.’ he gives a short smile. he loved being chief. but he loved it because he loved his work and at the time didn’t have a life outside of it, so it didn’t matter how much work he had. but now it did, and being just a surgeon again was refreshing to say the least.
‘i’m so sorry teddy, but if it makes you feel better i think we’ll all be glad to have you back. ----- no yang and i have not spoken since she left. i think it’s better than way. she didn’t want the same things as i did. and i turned into a worst man because of it. but i wrote my wrongs and i’m back on track. but i have heard from meredith she is doing well.’
april hands him the new set of scrubs with a soft smile, sitting down on one of the benches in the locker room and facing away from him for a moment to let him change. “of course.” she’s careful to seem overly casual with him, bending over for a moment to re-tie her shoelaces that had come undone.
“warren got suspended for the messiest c-section i’ve ever seen in my life. he and an intern did it in the middle of the hallway. the mother and child didn’t make it. i imagine bailey still has him sleeping on the couch even though it’s been months.” she informed him, hand resting on her own stomach a moment. “and callie and arizona went through this hellish custody battle. callie’s got this new girlfriend who got a grant in new york and thought arizona would be fine with her taking sofia –– which, obviously, arizona was not fine with. arizona got full custody and callie’s in new york.” her mind searches for a moment, realizing all that was left was the exploding between her and jackson in the hallway, the restraining order, the potential lawsuit of her own. but she can stay quiet on that. “and no, i am not finding out the gender, but there’s no signs of o.i. or any other genetic abnormality.”
owen took the scrubs and for a moment he froze in place as his fingers pressed against the soft blue material. it had been so long since he had held scrubs in his hands. and all though the moment seemed meaningless it felt bitter sweet in his eyes. something that had been such a normal everyday thing for him was now his way of swinging back into reality and normality.
he snapped out of the moment as she began to speak about warren. he offered up a short smile in return of the gossip. wondering if he acted as if nothing had changed, that everything was normal that some day he would just begin to believe it. eyes widened a little on hearing about callie and arizona. he knew things had gotten bad... but not this bad. he guessed he wasn’t the only one that had suffered through this past year. although he doesn’t comment on the two first stories, just listens. he finally offers a sincere look. ‘i’m glad, you’re going to be an amazing mother april.’
five times kissed because yes
A SHORT MOMENT: it was short and rough. shared in between the dings of the elevator indicating it had gone to the next floor. their lips tangled in a mess as their bodies pressed together, inching closer through every breath until they could get no closer. heat exchanged as tongues collided. it’s what they did instead of talking. and in somewhat it was there form of talking… or their way of avoiding it. hands pressed to the walls as he encased her against the corner of the elevator. amelia’s hands were wrapped around owen’s shoulders. praying that this elevator would somehow break and it would never open. that they would just be stuck in this small space to continue their ventures. but quickly the pulled away from each-other as the doors slid open.
MARRY ME: ‘marry me,’ it was the simple words that echoed out of owen’s lips. he might be shipped off soon, but he needed to marry her before he did so. he needed to come home to his wife, not his girlfriend. and maybe it was her knowing that she was pregnant that caused her to say yes so quickly, but it was information that owen was not aware of yet. but when the yes was uttered from amelia’s star struck lips a passionate long kiss was shared between the two destined to save each other in more ways than one.
COME HOME SOON: this was goodbye for now. he would be home soon, or at least that’s what he had promised. and she just hoped that was true, because her baby was due soon and she had withheld telling him so he wouldn’t worry while overseas. so for now they were saying a heartfelt pain wrenching goodbye, the day after their wedding. the kiss shared was filled with a little sorrow, never wanting to let go, to just freeze in this moment forever.
WE’RE STILL COUNTING ON FOREVER : gone. just like that. that’s all it took, one call to change their families life forever. owen hunt had gone mia and a few weeks later pronounced dead, with no body of proof. a year had passed. the hospital hadn’t been the same. it seemed as if constant death followed the hallways and there was no escape. that was until out of a sheer miracle owen hunt showed up just feet away from amelia shepherd. looks shared between shocked gasps before she was in his arms and their lips were pressed against each-other.
YOU SAVED ME : owen had been pronounced dead only to come back not himself. an owen that held only pain and regret. regret that he had missed a year of his daughters life to stay in the pits of hell. but a little passed and things had changed, he was better. they were better….. but all good things come to an end. they had tried for another baby…. and they had lost it. they had suffered so much pain already and this only added. hands pressed to amelia’s wet cheeks as her tears streamed down her cheeks. ‘hey, hey look at me. you saved me. you saved me, amelia. so you can’t give up now because it’s my turn to save you.’ he leaned forward and pressed a small kiss to her lips.
as i work on drafts i’m putting this separation banner up. i returned a few weeks ago and haven’t had a lot of time to do drafts so most of my shit has been ooc post which annoys the hell of even me so i’m sure it’s been kind of annoying on the dash. I’ll be doing this for every blog. everything from now on will be tagged, and i’ll stop being lazy af. —— so excited to be back and roleplaying him again!
“that’s what we call her over there, the machine.”
never slows down, never lets it get to her. makes everyone else want to work harder. when she decides on something, nothing’s going to stop her. you can’t call that one off.
independent april kepner from abc’s grey’s anatomy. penned by jill.
maybe part of her should have been more wary to have him back at work so soon after everything, but april understands too well the need to bury oneself in it and pretend that nothing else in the world existed. she’d done it too much herself. it’s a vice, no doubt, and probably not the best one in the world to encourage, either –– but she planned on hovering in the most affectionate way possible. she thought that it was the best she could do for him in all aspects, letting him bury and keeping a close eye on him. that, and well, she didn’t need to lie about any of it, she did want to overcompensate for lost time. work gave the opportunity to do so without feeling like she was stepping on amelia’s toes.
“things haven’t been the same without you.” april occurs the comment as a peace of reassurance. she’s not normally so touchy feely with him, it mostly feels odd from the very platonic relationship and the ingrained part of her that thought she couldn’t act the same with men as women, but she still grabs his hand, pep in her step to seek out extra scrubs.
“how caught up have you gotten with all the hospital drama? not that i like to gossip but, i figure everyone’s going to want to talk about you and you won’t want to, so… i think the gossip is an appropriate deflector.”
A slight smile creeps onto the side of his lips at her words. Usually he would get uncomfortable at a intimate conversation with a friend. But this time he didn’t mind at all, it was actually settling some nerves that had risen ever since he stepped foot in the hospital once again. His eyes shoot down as she grabs his hand and he overrides his defense systems ready to pull away and instead lets her lead him.
Eyes gazed around the familiar walls as well as April as they headed down the hallways to grab a new set of scrubs. “thank you, april.” His words were subtle and quiet but held more meaning than he could ever express. She was the only one that didn’t ask him about it. She was the only one that didn’t look at him differently. He needed that. He needed the trauma team back. “Catch me up.”
the days we loved the most have all been spent
even owen is in the corner judging me for this
the visit had been entirely spur of the moment. she hadn’t been back to seattle since she’d taken the job offer as chief of MEDCOM. honestly, she hadn’t told anybody she was coming because she’d come back from overseas in a rather dire mood. things had gone wrong, and she’d offered her resignation before moving home to new york and hiding inside her apartment most of the time. but now - now she was coming back to seattle to visit old friends and possibly ask for a position.
her arms wrapped around the man who had been her best friend for many years, and she held on tighter and longer than a normal hug would usually last. she hadn’t realized until now just how much she’d missed him.
“it was supposed to be a surprise. actually - i’m here to talk to chief bailey. i can’t believe she replaced you as chief! but i’m here to see if it might be possible to work here again.”
she left it at that, knowing that with time, the reasons for being back and wanting her old job back would come out - but not feeling up to discussing it at the current time.
Owen pulled away from the hug just as she began to speak, smiling softly at her as he searched her features to see what had changed and what had stayed the same. He chuckled a little at her words. “She was always meant to be chief eventually, it was bound to happen and I stepped down anyways—it was time.” He had to admit he did miss being chief every once and a while but the stress of the job had taken over his life yet quitting chief and going on another tour helped him gain control of his life again.
A quirk of an eyebrow in confusion as she spoke on how she was looking for a job here. He had so many question already but he knew that they would have time later to talk about it all. There was a slight excitement to the idea of her working here again, he had missed her a lot. But a little worry plagued his mind, why was she here? Last time he checked her life was better off without this place. “I’m sure she’ll have a position for you, what happened at MEDCOM?”

every smile sent a lurch through her gut. every emotion conflicting at once in hopes of finding some comfort or relief. it might not last long, but at least it was SOMETHING. she smiled back at him, stroking the backs of her fingers along their daughter’s cheek. eyes move to match with his, and her voice turns to a coo.
“i d a r e someone to find me one cuter. she’s an angel.”
‘i think you’d win that dare.’
owen stepped a l i t t l e bit closer. he slowly placed his hand across amelia’s and interlocked his fingers with hers. lips lifting a little while his eyes were still locked on his daughters tired giggling attitude.
