3/15/24 PlyoJam/Strength intervals with stretch at and
I'm still alive, despite not posting. Been feeling very discouraged with lack of weight loss, despite doing everything "correctly". I haven't been walking this week cos of the lack of motivation, but have done MWFS PlyoJam classes. I know I need to get back to walking, but I just bad-moody about it right now.
Oh, my old Fitbit Versa died last Friday, so I got a new Sense 2. Been trying to get all the stuff set up on it the way I like, but overall I like it.
3/1/24 PlyoJam/Strength HIIT style with stretch at end
This was interval day with cardio, then some weight work, then cardio, etc. She added in some new weight moves that were challenging, making the workout feel extra hard today. 🥵
My blood sugar went UP during this, which is apparently a thing with strength training... (all this was in fasted state, no food)
2/29/24 : 2 mile walk, morning
I'm trying to remember to log on the CGM the start and end of exercise sessions/walks to make it easier to see the effects. Today's was pretty clear: even a moderate walk brings it down from the overnight elevation.
This cat was happy as could be, on top of the world, as well as on top of his human.
2/28/24 PlyoJam, Strength and stretch
Had an intense massage yesterday afternoon late, really working on my hips and lack of flexibility there. I have one every month, but this one seemed extra intense. Slept on a heating pad, per LMTs instructions, it still tightened up and hurt like fuck when I got up to pee in the night. Sharp shooting pain in my right glute. Thankfully, by the time my alarm went off, those pains had subsided and it just feels a little sore. Ended up feeling pretty good for plyojam today, and felt like I worked hard, tho HR didn't really get up as much as I'd like.
2/26/24 PlyoJam, Strength and stretch
Really not a great workout at all. I felt sore and stiff and blah. Couldn't get into it or get myself moving much, and HR really shows that. I guess better than not doing anything, I feel a little less sore now, so there's that. Saturday just killed me with something like 19,000 steps, which is way above average for me, plus weight work.
2/24/24 PlyoJam online, 2nd PlyoJam of the day, 3rd workout of the day
I am done. Had to phone in a good bit of this, walk through the moves. My legs are dead.
2/24/24 PlyoJam and Nautilus machines at gym
I ate a cupcake last night. Wasn't worth the blood sugar Spike, honestly. Did cardio and weights this morning, waiting for blood sugar to drop from that workout. Muscles are all wobbly from the weights and I've got another plyojam class on zoom in an hour and a half. I might not do much in that one, but I told the instructor I'd be there to support her, so I'll do what I can.
Sometimes you just have to curl up in your hammock and forget all your troubles... or, if you're Max, dream up new trouble to get into.
2/21/24 CGM
So, celebrating a friend's birthday tonight I had a MOST DELICIOUS cookies and cream cupcake. Checking my blood sugar, it doesn't seem to be that bad. I expected a huge spike. Got a small spike, but now it's coming back down. I'm pretty happy with this response.
Also, the gourmet cupcakes at Sam's Club are to die for (everyone agreed) and tons cheaper than equivalent at a bakery shop.
2/21/24 PlyoJam, Strength and stretch
Today was 45 minutes of cardio, a shorter strength session (15 mins), then 30 or so stretching.
Blood sugar does not come down during exercise, it seems, but after, which Dr. Google says is normal... 🤷♀️ Mine seems to go up during sleep, which makes sense, I guess, cos I eat my main meal in the evening... maybe I should go for a walk after dinner or something to reduce that impact?
2/20/24 1.5 mile evening walk
Did 2 miles this morning, so this got me to 5k+ for the day. Split it up to see what effect it might have on my blood sugar at night, which is when it seems to go up. Blood glucose was at 79 at the end of the walk, which is really good.
2/20/24 : 2 mile walk morning
No plyojam today, so trying a 2 mile walk to see what effect it has on blood sugar readings today vs what yesterday's class did.
Blood sugar has been in the low 100s most of the night, dropping to 99 right at the end of my walk.
Also, apparently the neighbors are making their 10 foot skeleton a year round decoration. 😂❤️
