the thing is, i think horror needs to have a little love. it needs to have an obsession. does the parasite in your body love you? it raises you from the dead, it sustains you. this is its body. this is your body. does the haunted house feel intruded upon? is it hungry? what is hatred but adoration?

This this this omg this. Repulsion alone is never half so interesting an emotion as repulsion mixed with attraction. A good thing, taken to an unhealthy extreme. Something desired become monstrous, but still desired nonetheless. Give me that push-pull of fear and want, that headlong willingness to risk it all, that terror when the leap of faith lands you in the snake pit. Human beings are driven by love as much as fear—what happens when both lead us into the dark?

As many of you know, I didn’t get into Supernatural until August 19th, 2021––almost a full year after the show ended––during my last year of grad school. However, I’ve been having an absolute blast with the show, the fandom, and all the friends I’ve made since then. So, I wanted to celebrate!
